Come to Gather- fall card!

I love this card!!  It is a totally Susie card.

I used a folded baby wipe & ink refills, to stamp into & get this rainbow of different colors on the leaves.

Can you guess what colors I used for the ink refills?
  • Soft Suede
  • Pumpkin Pie
  • Crushed Curry
  • Old Olive
Look closely at the embossed leaves.  I used a sponge dauber & Soft Suede ink.  You add the ink directly to the detailed (cutting side) of the die, lay it face down onto your card stock & cut it with your embossing folder.  It is so cool that just a little color can add so much dimension to the cut out leaf!
Look at both of these cards.  Which direction to do you like better?  Vertical or Horizontal?

I'm sure you already know that I like the horizontal one the best!!!

How did I do it?
1.  Randomly add dots of ink refill onto the baby wipe.  Leave a tiny space between them or have them barely touch- as they will run into each other as they absorb into the baby wipe.
Here are the 4 colors I used- Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Soft Suede
2.  Press your stamp directly into the baby wipe.  Notice how I used a sour cream lid under my baby wipe & then I also have my paper piercing mat under that- so help it get an even coverage.
IMPORTANT:  You want to go up & down to ink your stamp in the same spot.....do not turn or go in various locations or you'll add different ink colors on top of each other- which will make the colors muddy!
3.  Then stamp them onto your card stock.
4.  Reink your stamp & stamp another leave onto your card stock.

Check out my pile of cardstock pieces I did here!

stamp set:  'Come to Gather'
card stock:  Old Olive, Soft Suede & Whisper White
ink pad:  Soft Suede
ink refills:  Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry & Soft Suede
other:  Baby Wipe, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Gather Leaves Dies, Come to Gather Ribbon Combo (Cajun Craze twine), dimensionals, Glue Dots

I hope you like this card & you'll give this fun technique a try!

Sunflowers!!

Wow is all I can say!!  I just think this is gorgeous!!  I am so happy with how everything for this project turned out!  I just love it!  It is so totally Susie for sure!

Open up your Annual Catalog to page 23!!  There is a daisy easel there- that is similar to this one.  I copied that one- but I totally changed the colors!  I made mine so that it looks like fall!  Just look at how pretty these daisies are!! And the daisies are just made with punches!!

This was a fun project to do & it didn't take very long at all!
And I used some of my favorite words in the center of this too!!!  "Blessed" & "Grateful"!

I will share more about this project......sometime in the next few days!  I've been swamped this week with lots going on with stamping, kids & pigs.  So be sure to read over previous posts sometime next week so you can get more details!

I want to share with you how I made the flowers, what products/supplies I used & fill you in on more of the details of this!

I am hoping that next week will be a little calmer (as that is the plan anyways right now).  None of us here are quite back in the grove yet.   I know we are all tried!

Ainslee got to ride a couple rounds in the field with Papa today!  She loved it!

Yesterday was a busy day!  Deke got some pumping done on our neighbors field.  And I spend my day with the kids.  We were outside for awhile in the morning & some in the afternoon too.  It was a beautiful day!!  The weather was great!  It was cooler- which also meant that school didn't let out early for a change.  So the bigger boys rode the bus here after school.  Luckily Grandma had made some oatmeal/chocolate chip cookies- as everyone was starved.

When the kids went home I burnt the midnight oil working on projects for my weekend!  As I'm getting together with some friends.  We'll be stamping, visiting & doing some painting!  I can't wait & I'm looking forward to it.

It was a short night for me.  As we are up early at 5:00 to sell  hogs.  We'll head out to mark, sort & load them.  I hope we have a good trucker again.   And I'll then spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.  The 3 Seeley boys will rid the bus out after school- so I'll see them then.  Tonight my family will all be going racing.....for the Fall Challenge in Osky.  I hope that Nathan has good luck!!  I'll be patiently waiting to get my text updates, since I am not able to go with them.  I will be sad to miss it- as this will be the first Fall Challenge I've missed in close to 30 years.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

Come To Gather

Yup- fall is definitely on my mind.....I'm lovin' all of the cool fall things I am seeing!

Have you checked out the Come To Gather DSP on page 48 in the Holiday Catalog!
Well- that is what I added to these wooden pumpkins that I found at the Dollar Store!
Doesn't it look cute on them!
So see- our SU! products can be used for so many projects (including home decor)!
I also really like the color of this pumpkin- it is a great match to our Cajun Craze- so that worked out perfectly when pairing it with this DSP.

And then check out the tag!  That is one of my favorite saying.....Thankful, Grateful & Blessed!  I love all 3 of these words whether used alone or together!

++++++++
Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  I took the 3 Seeley boys to school & then spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.  School got out early again due to the heat- so the boys road the bus here.  We played outside & they helped me pick some corn from the field.  Hopefully I get them all tied together & I'll use them as fall decor on the fence in our yard.

Last night the twins had a football game that we went to.  When it was over with Deke went to Nathan's to help him work on his race car & I made a quick trip to Osky to deposit a hog check & pick up a few groceries.  I came home & burnt the midnight oil again stamping!

I'm off this morning to Manda's.  I'll take the twins to school & spend my day with Trey & Ainslee.  Tonight I'll be burning the midnight oil again stamping!

Gotta run........I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

A COPPER PUMPKIN

I so love fall!  And I just think that this pumpkin/apple punch is sooo neat!!!!

This card is gorgeous in person!  This new Celestial Copper Metallic ink just shines & is beautiful!!

This card was one of the fun fold cards that everyone made at my September monthly classes.
There are 3 new Metallic ink pads.  Check them out on page 16 in the Holiday Catalog. All 3 of them are beautifult!!  They dry fast & are so pretty!!!
  • Celestial Copper
  • Golden Glitz
  • Silvery Shimmer
stamp set:  'Harvest Hellos'
card stock:
  • Crumb Cake- 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" (for card base); 2 1/4 x 11"- score at 5 1/2" (fold in half & adhere to front of card; 2 3/4" strip (for Stitched Square)
  • Cajun Craze- 2" strip; 5 1/4 x 1 7/8" (Emboss with Hammered Metal Embossing Folder)
  • Mossy Meadow- 1" strip (for 2 leaves)
  • Early Espresso- 1/2" strip (for pumpkin stem)
  • Very Vanilla- 5 1/4 x 2" (for inside of card); 3/8" strip- stamp words onto & snip to desired length to add on the card front: 2 3/4" strip (for Stitched Square)
designer paper:  Pressed Petals Specialty DSP- 5 1/4 x 2"; 4 3/4 x 3/4"
ink:  Celestial Copper Ink pad
other: Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Stitched Shapes (square), Come to Gather Ribbon Combo (Cajun Craze Twine), Standard Platform, Hammered Metal Embossing Folder, NEW 3D Blue Embossing Plate, Apple Builder Punch, Every Season Punch Pack (leaf), Glue Dots, dimensionals

This is what it looks like opened up!  It is a dutch door fold card.

I did the direct to paper technique on the top of the card.  I embossed the Cajun Craze card stock, using my Hammered Metal Embossing Folder (pg. 31 in the Holiday Catalog).  I then laid the card stock down on my paper, turned the Copper Metallic Ink pad upside down & lightly pressed it onto the embossed image- so that some of the ink would transfer onto it.  It looks cool!

So let me know what you think!

You can click on the links below to see some of the other cards I have posted on my blog that I have used the Apple Builder Punch with!  Some of the are pumpkins & some of them are apples!

Yesterday was a great day of stamping!!  We all had a fun time together- stamping & visiting, while creating.  Deb & Janiece were great hostesses!  They had yummy snacks & were great helpers!  And I have to give a shout out to Ruth!  She is my right hand for our Hiawatha group & I couldn't do it all without her!!  She is a true blessing forsure!

After my 2 classes I hurried home last night.  One of our friends mom had passed & we didn't want to miss her visitation.  We picked up a Casey's pizza for our supper on our way home.  And I went to bed early.  I haven't had much sleep the past week & I was just beat!

This is gonna be another busy week!  Some friends & I are getting together this coming weekend to camp & stamp!  Some of them I don't see very often- so I'm looking forward to getting to visit & create with them!

Deke is up early this morning to chore & head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up early to get my car unloaded & head to Manda's.  I'll take the 3 Seeley boys to school & then spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.  It is suppose to be hot all week again....so I assume school will get out early & the 3 Seeley boys will be here all afternoon.

Tonight I'll be canning tomatoes.  Bless my friend, Susan.  She brought me 2 boxes of tomatoes when she was here to stamp with me on Saturday!!  So I will be doing them tonight!  It will be great to have them to make Salsa & Goulash with this winter!  I canned a bunch of tomatoes last year & they are all completely gone.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

Mug

This mug is from the 'Cup of Christmas' stamp set that is in the Holiday Catalog on page 34.

Those of you that know me, know that I love hot drinks (any time of the year)......and I always have a weak coffee cup sitting on my kitchen counter.  Coffee, hot tea, chai tea, hot chocolate, etc.....I love them all!

So last night I was in the mood to create a quick card using this new set.
Check out this mug.  It is sooo cool!!  It is a NEW REVERSIBLE stamp!  Yup- that mean that you can turn it over & stamp on both sides of it.  So if you are left handed or right handed- or want 2 mugs with handles going the opposite directions- you can now do it by just flipping over the photopolymer stamp!  It is super cool & so easy to do!

This stamp set has endless possibilities & I will be creating some more cards with it in the coming months.

stamp sets:  'Cup of Christmas' & 'Woven Heirlooms'
card stock:
  • Real Red-

Look at this cool plaid DSP from the Come to Gather DSP pack found on page 48 in the Holiday Catalog.

I also love these Ornate Frames Dies.  They are so cool!

Did you notice that I shadow stamped along the right edge of the card?  I repeatedly stamped the words Spooky using Versamark.

Check out the Monster Bash DSP on the card.  I colored the windows in the haunted house & the moon with the So Saffron Stampin' Blend & then added the Wink of Stella over the top of it.
Would you like to have a Halloween PDF with this Spooktacular Bash Suite?
I created a 5 card PDF using this suite & will email it to everyone that places an order with me during September.

Nature's Beauty- deer

'Nature's Beauty' is a cool new image stamp in the Holiday Catalog on page 63.  Be sure you check it out!!  I will be sharing some more cards using this stamp set in the coming weeks.  It is a great set with endless possibilities!

I just love this deer.  What a great guy card this is!

If you look closely, notice that I used the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  I used my Sponge Brayer (on page 181) to ink the embossing folder, with Early Espresso ink, before I embossed it.  It looks pretty cool.  The detail in the embossed images show up.  Don't you just love the look of this cool Brick added to this card front!

stamp set:  'Nature's Beauty' & 'Itty Bitty Birthdays'
card stock:
  • Early Espresso- 8 1/2 x 11"- score at 4 1/4" & 5 1/2" & then cut card stock diagonally for the card base; 2 3/4 x 3 3/4"
  • Gray Granite- 4 x 5 1/4"; 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"- for Subtles Embossing Folder

I did this as a fun fold......as originally I wasn't going to add the Brick & Mortar Embossing folder to is.  So when someone opens it- they will be a surprise!  I love the fold.

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  Masen, Ainslee & I went out to eat lunch with some of my family- to celebrate my mom's birthday!  The other 4 boys got out of school early (@ 1:30), due to the heat.  They all rode the bus out here.  So our house was kind of wild, but fun to have them all here.

We all went to Brody & Drake's football game.  Deke & I then made a quick trip to Osky to deposit a hog check.  I worked on stamping stuff when we got home.

This morning I'm off early to Manda's.  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with Trey & Ainslee.  Tonight I'll be stamping again!

Double Point Fold card

Last week I needed a sympathy card to send to one of my downline, Von- as her sister had passed away.  I wanted to send her a special card.....and this is what I ended up making for her.
Check out the fun double point fold I did here on the ends, using DSP!

How did I do the fold?
1.  Take a piece of DSP- 4 x 3"- score along the 3" side at 1", turn & mark the 2" (center) on the 4" side.  NOTE:  You need 2 of these pieces- one for each end of the card.

2.  I then just folded down the corner from the 2" center point mark, to the scored line.  I did this both corners of the DSP.
This is what it looks like when I folded the DSP point that I used on the card.

3.  Fold the points like shown here.
4.  Add adhesive like shown here.
5.  Adhere the both points to both ends of a card base that is 4 x 5 1/4".
6.  Then adhere it to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" card base.
7.  Add the layers of card stock & decorate as desired.
I think it turned out really pretty!  What do you think?

stamp set:  'Kindness & Compassion'
card stock:
  • Mossy Meadow- 5 1/2 x 4 1/4"; 2" strip (for leaves), 2 1/2" strip for Label die
  • Crumb Cake- 5 1/4 x 4"; 2" strip for Label die
  • So Saffron- 2" strip- punch out 4 daisies, 2 3/4" strip for Label die
designer paper:  Pressed Petals Specialty DSP
ink:  Mossy Meadow
other:  Medium Daisy Punch, Magnolia Lane Ribbon, Perennial Essence Floral Centers,  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Stitched Nested Labels Dies, dimensionals, glue dots

++++++++
Yesterday was a busy day with the kids & then I helped Deke outside with the hogs last night.  When we got in I made a late supper, answered emails & worked on orders from my class.  And Deke watched the Cubs play.

This morning we are both up early.  Deke has an early meeting at 8:30 in Sigourney.  And then another one this afternoon in Mt. Pleasant.  I'll leave at 6:30, as Manda has an early meeting today too.  I'll take the 3 Seeley boys to school & then spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.  Today is my mom's birthday, so we will run in town & eat lunch with her, my aunt, one of my sisters & a couple of my nieces.  The 4 boys will ride the bus here after school.  We will then go to the twins football game.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!

A fall tree using the Snow Front stamp set!

So......on this card I thought outside the box!  I was inspired by some junk mail that I got the other day.  It had a tree on it.  And I thought- oh I could make a tree with my stamps!!!
This tree is kind of a modern & different one.  But can you believe that I used the 'Snow Front' stamp set on page 45 in the Holiday Catalog to make it!  And the leaves are from the Apple Builder Punch.   I thought it turned out to be a fun fall card!

Since I was needing a sympathy card - I thought this would work out great for that!!

This is a center cut out fold.  And I used the Wrapped in Plaid DSP on page 14 in the Holiday Catalog with it.
So what do you think?
stamp sets:  'Snow Front & 'Itty Bitty Greetings'
card stock:
  • Shaded Spruce-
  • Granny Apple Green-
  • Crushed Curry-
  • Pumpkin Pie-
  • Whisper White-
  • Early Espresso-
designer paper:  Wrapped in Plaid
ink:  Shaded Spruce & Early Espressoother:  Apple Builder Punch (for the leaves), Classic Label Punch, Dimensionals
Here is a photo I took of the junk mail I got that was my inspiration for this fall card.

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  We were outside for a little bit in the morning.  The big boys all rode the bus here after school.  We then picked up the 3 Wood kids & met the 3 Seeley boys, their Seeley grandparents & Sarah's parents- at the school.  We had pizza for grandparents, that was sponsored by the PTO.  After supper the kids played at the school on the playground.  We then went to B's Sweet Treats for ice cream & played in the city park.  We sat around the campfire at Nathan & Sarah's for awhile & visited when we took the kids home.  It was a fun night!

This morning I'm up early to work on farm bookwork.  I'll then head to town to Manda's.  I'll take the twins to school & come home to spend my day with Trey & Ainslee.  Tonight when the kids go home, I have to help Deke outside with sortinghogs.  And then I have lots to get caught up on inside.
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!

Nature's Beauty- deer

There are soooo many new things in the Holiday Catalog that I like & my wish list is so long!!  Is your wish list huge too?

I played around with some new products from the Holiday Catalog when I made this card.

Check out the cute deer!!  It is from the 'Nature's Beauty' stamp set on page 63.

Do you like these Birch trees?  I did them by using the new Basic pattern Decorative "Tree" Mask on page 35.  Isn't that cool!!  I think they turned out great!!

How did I do the trees?
  1. Lay the tree mask over a piece of Crumb Cake card stock, using washi tape in the corner to hold the mask down, so it wouldn't move.
  2. Ink a sponge dauber in Soft Suede ink & rub over the top of the stencil openings to make the tree image show onto the Crumb Cake piece of card stock.
  3. Ink the Birch background stamp, using Early Espresso ink & stamped over the Tree mask- pressing down firmly- so that the lines transfer over the sponge tree image.
  4. NOTE. Some of the lines didn't turn out as dark as I wanted them from the Birch background stamp- onto the stenciled tree.  So I used my Early Espresso Stampin' Write Marker & lightly drew some of the missing lines in the Birch tree.
Here is the Birch tree stencil & the Birch tree stamp- that I combined together to make this stenciled tree image.
stamp sets:  'Nature's Beauty', 'Gather Together' & 'Itty Bitty Birthdays'
card stock:
  • Crumb Cake- 4 1/4 x 11"- score at 5 1/2" for card base; 5 1/4 x 2 3/4"
  • Early Espresso- 4 x 5 1/4"; 4 x 1"
  • Cajun Craze-  2 3/4" strip (stamp leaves on), 4 x 1/2"
  • Whisper White- 3" strip (stamp deer on to)
inks:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede

This has been a wild, crazy & busy weekend.  We were going 100 mph & I didn't get hardly any sleep.  But it all worked out good- thankfully!

On Saturday, Ryan & Melanie's wedding celebration was wonderful!  The rain didn't damper the day- it just made is a little soggy.  They are a very special couple & I am so glad that we could help with their party.  Deke & I did the cheesy potatoes & shredded pork meat for their reception party.  It was so great to see so many friends & family!

Then yesterday I had my September monthly stamp class in North Liberty!  We had a great group join me!!  It was a fun day!  Brooke was our hostess.  She had yummy treats & was lots of help.  I appreciated all the help in setting & cleaning up from Brooke, Teri, Dena & Jenny!  Their help was greatly appreciated!!  I was beat last night when I got home.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for his week board meeting.  I'm up early to walk & unload my card full of stamp stuff (from yesterday's class).  I'll then head to town to Manda's to get the boys up, feed them breakfast & take the 3 Seeley boys to school.  I'll then get Masen & Ainslee & spend my day with them.  The 4 boys- Brayden, Brody, Drake & Trey will ride the bus here after school.  Tonight Deke & I picking up all of the 5 boys at their homes & then we are meeting Doug & Julie (Sarah's parents) & Mark & Becky (Steve's parents).  We are all going to the PTO Pizza for Grandparents supper at the school together & then to B's Sweet Treats for ice cream afterwards!  When we get home I'll work on placing orders & stamping stuff.

Gotta run......I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!
