Yesterday was a great day full of stamping!!  Wow- we had a fun group that joined me to stamp in North Liberty!  And everyone had a fun time making 7 cute cards!  Deb was a great hostess with yummy treats!  And thanks to Deb, Denise, Teri & Dena for helping me to clean up afterwards!

I was tired when I got home last night.  I got some of mess from creating picked up before Deke got in (he worked late on the farm) & then made one of his favorites for supper- fried potatoes & breaded tenderloins!  We watched a movie & I fell asleep.

This morning he is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up to get my car unloaded from yesterday & spend my day with the 3 Wood kids.  Tonight when they go home I'll be stamping!

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

Daisy Lane Bundle

It is simple Saturday.......and I have a super cute & simple card to share with you!!

One of my favorite things is punches!  And when I saw this cute little Daisy punch in the Annual Catalog I was just thrilled!  There are just endless possibilities that you can use when creating with it.  And then to top it off, we have these adorable Perennial Essence Centers to add to the center of the Daisy too!  Aren't they cool!  They are fuzzy & look & feel so real!
The main piece of this card came from a piece of the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP!  It is one of my favorite new DSP packs......as it has some of my favorite colors in it!
Here is what the piece of 12x12 DSP looks like that I used.  I just cut out the lower right hand corner piece, added a little Daffodil Delight card stock behind it & adhered it to the Mossy Meadow base.  I finished it off with punched out daisies, some lace trim & a little banner for the words.

There are 4 daisies on this card & normally I do not use even numbers when I add things that I create......but there were already 4 daisies on this DSP.  So I just made 4 of them out of Whisper White card stock & the Medium Daisy punch.  I then added a dimensional to the back of them & covered up the photographed daisies that were on the DSP.

So what do you think?  Do you like quick & simple cards?  Well- this one is just perfect for you then!

stamp set:  'Daisy Lane'
card stock:
  • Mossy Meadow- 4 1/4 x 11- score at 5 1/4" for the card base
  • Daffodil Delight- 2 1/4 x 3/8"; 4 1/8 x 4 7/8"
  • Whisper White- 2" strip- punch out 8 flowers & layer 2 on top of each other to make 4 flowers total; 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card
designer paper:  4 x 4 3/4"
ink:  Mossy Meadow
other: Perennial Essence Center; Paper Snips (to flap the ends of the words); Medium Daisy Punch; Dimensionals, Glue Dots; 3/8" Scalloped Lace Trim

Yesterday was a long day.  It started out early on the farm, selling hogs.  I then worked on some stamping stuff & had a chiropractor appointment.  We got quite a storm (luckily no damage at our house)- just lots of rain & wind.  I didn't end up having any kids, except Brayden was here for awhile in the afternoon.  When Deke got home from his meeting I had to go back out & help him with the pigs.  We had some escapes that somehow got their gate open & they were having fun playing & running around in the mud.  We finally got them all rounded up & back in the their pen.  Last night I burnt the midnight oil stamping!

This morning I'm up early to stamp.  We have Ainslee's birthday party this afternoon.  I'll then come home & burn the midnight oil stamping again......I'm creating & getting ready for my class I have tomorrow with my N. Liberty group.  Deb is our hostess!!  And I can't wait to see everyone & stamp together!  I have some super cute things to share!

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  It was later when they left last night.  I then made a trip to Sigourney to get necessities at Dollar General & the grocery store.  I brought them home & then went to Osky to get the rest of the things I needed at Fareway & Walmart.  It was late when I got home last night.  I got the car unloaded, the things unpacked, the cold things put away & fed Deke supper.  I didn't get much stamping done, as I just had to call it a night.

We are up early at 5 to mark, sort & load hogs!  Deke will chore & then head to Ottumwa for a couple more meetings again today.  I'll spend my day with the kids again.  Tonight when they go home, I'll be a stamping!

My 3 scarecrows!

I just had to share.....sorry- it is not a card today, but these are scarecrows that I painted on Sunday night!

My friend, Chris's husband (Tony) made them for me.  I stained & painted them late last fall & they have been leaning against our front porch.  I finally took the time & painted them.  They are all a little different, as I did them all free handed.  I think they turned out pretty cute!!  Now to get more paint & find time to finish painting the snowman faces that are on the back side of them.

When I got them done I sent a text picture of them to Drake (my artist) & he approved!  So that was good to hear!

When I get them done- one is for me, one for Manda & one for Sarah.
++++++++++
Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  Last night I went & got my mom.  We went to Brayden's game (along with Manda & Trey), for awhile.  Brayden's team lost, so we are all done with baseball games for the year.  We then went to the races to cheer on Nathan.  He got 2nd in his heat & 2nd in the main.  He looked good! It was a late night.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to Ottumwa for 2 meetings.  I'm up early to walk & spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.   Tonight I'll be a stamping!

Tomorrow I'll be back to posting a card again.  I didn't have any photos of any taken & I was too tired when we got home to do it.
I hope you have a great Thursday!

These colors together are great!  Look at this beautiful & detailed Peacock die.  Behind it I have used the coordinating Beads & Baubles Embossing Folder.  And I've added some of the Noble Peacock Rhinestones on the Peacock!
Along the right edge  & the bottom, I used a narrow strip of the Noble Peacock (Blueberry Bushel) foil.  In person this just sparkles with the foil & the rhinestones!

stamp set:  'Friend Like You' (words)
card stock:  Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White
designer paper:  Noble Peacock Foil (Blueberry Bushel)
ink:  Blueberry Bushel

Gorgeous Pansy's!

WOW!  Look at these Pansy flowers.  They are just gorgeous.  And they are soooo easy to make!  They are actually on a roll of washi tape!  Be sure you check them out on 172 in the Annual Catalog.  They are the Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Tape!  Just so cool!

These colors & this layout are a totally Susie card.
This is the quicky card I made with this washi tape!  Check out the coordinating DSP I used too!  It is from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP.  Yes- both pieces of this DSP are from the Pressed Petals Specialty DSP pack.
I did this as a fun z fold card.  And I used the words from the 'Path of Petals' stamp set.
This is what the washi tape looks like & this is how I made these flower!
  1. I used the 1 1/8" Scalloped Circle Punch
  2. I used 5 of Washi Tape Petals & laid them around the punched out circle.
  3. Use your Embossing Buddy & tape onto the back side of the Washi Tape flower- so that it isn't stick any longer....ans I wanted my petals to curl some (like a real flower) & not be stuck flat.
  4. Add the Perennial Essence Floral Center.
  5. Put a couple of dimensionals on the back side of the flower.
  6. Adhere to the card front.
stamp set:  'Path of Petals'
card stock:  Early Espresso, Rich Razzleberry Whisper White
designer paper:  Pressed Petals Specialty DSP
ink:  Early Espresso
other:  Perennial Essence Floral Center, 1 1/8" Scalloped Circle Punch, Embossing Buddy, Dimensionals
++++++++
Yesterday was a busy day with the boys.  Susie's Hair Hut was open & I gave them all 3 hair cuts!  We played outside & were busy bees!

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up early to walk & get ready to spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.

Brayden's team got a first round Bye in the tournament- so we don't have a baseball game now tonight.  That is good......I have LOTS of stamping I need to get done & things to get caught up on.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

Movie Night!

Last December for part of each kids Christmas gifts- I made these cards & we gave them to all 6 kids.  They are a FREE Movie Night gift!

Here are my piles of pieces as I was working on them.
This is what each card  looked like when I got it done!  Aren't they so cute!  I thought they turned out neat & the kids were thrilled with them too.
I made it so that the inside pieces of each card pulled up, so that I could write in each of them!  And the outside part of the card was a pocket that was secured with tear & tape (along the outside edges) & a ribbon wrapped around them.  I then printed Movie Night & FREE Popcorn onto pieces of card stock & punched them out, to add to their cards.
Here are all 6 of the finished cards/gifts!

So last night the 3 Seeley boys redeemed their movie night gifts!  Read on.......
++++++++
Yesterday I got up early to work on finishing up a swap that I needed to get mailed out.  And then I went to Williamsburg to watch the twins play in their baseball tournament.  They won the first 2 games & tied the last game 10-10.  It was windy, chilly & wet at the game!  Who would have thought we'd have to wear sweatshirts, jackets & wrap up in blankets this time of year!

The 3 Seeley boys are staying with us this yesterday & today- so last night we took the 3 of them to Ottumwa to use their Movie Night gifts.  Toy Story 4 was released yesterday, so that is what we surprised the boys with & went to see as our movie.  Our night was filled with- the movie, pop, popcorn, a box of candy & then a Walker's ice cream cone on our way home!!  It was the perfect ending to a fun & busy day!  Then thought they had to watch an old Toy Story movie when we got home, but fell asleep long before it was over with.  We were all tired.  It had been a long & busy day!

Our plans for the day are to stay home all day!  We'll see what the weather is like & what we end up doing.  At the moment we don't have any definite plans.  Manda & Steve will be home later this afternoon.

I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!!
Happy Stamping!

'All Geared Up'- for Deke's birthday card!

Check out Deke's birthday card!  It was a quicky that I hurried & made for him on Wednesday morning.

Blue is his favorite color & I couldn't wait to use this NEW Noble Peacock Foil.  Isn't it so cool how I used it to cut out this gear!!!  It is Blueberry Bushel!  Wow!
This is a z fold card.....which is always my "go to fold" when I don't want it to make a basic card fold.
So I think it turned out pretty cool & Deke liked it too- so that is what counts!

stamp set:  'Perennial Birthday' & 'Geared Up Garage'
card stock:  Blueberry Bushel, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Noble Peacock (Blueberry Bushel) Foil
ink:  Blueberry Bushel
other:  Big Shot, Garage Gear Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Embossing Mat- retired, dimensionals, glue dots

Yesterday was a long day!  When we got home I worked on swaps & Deke slept most of the afternoon.  He chored, we ate supper & went to bed early, as we were both beat.  Deke will work on the farm all day.   And I'm going to head to Williamburg for the twins baseball tournament they have there.  Then the 3 Seeley boys will be staying with us tonight- so guess we'll have a slumber party!

I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!!

'Celebrate with Cake'

These little stemmed flowers are from a NEW brochure!  You can CLICK HERE TO LOOK AT IT!  Or you can check it by clicking on the photo of the brochure that I have posted along the right edge of my blog home page too.  It is called the Beginners Brochure!  But it isn't just for beginners!

The stamp set is in this Beginners Brochure & is called- 'Celebrate with Cake'!  It can be found on page 11 in this brochure!  I think this stamp set is sooooo cute!  It is a totally Susie style with multiple images for many different occasions.  And the images in this stamp set are definitely not just for beginners.  Any stamper can use them!  Stampin' Up! designed this new brochure to help out new customers find products where they could purchase everything they need to make a card/or project & not be so overwhelmed by looking at the big Annual Catalog.  This brochure is good from June 4, 2019 to June 2, 2020.

So for today's card I decided to create a simple card & use the tulips!  I think it turned out super cute!

CHECK OUT this gorgeous NEW  Purple Tricolor ribbon!  WOW!  I love it!
Here are the supplies, measurements & some TIPS I'd like to share with you about my card:

stamp set:  'Celebrate with Cake'
card stock:
  • Granny Apple Green- 4 1/4 x 11"- score at 5 1/2" & fold for card base
  • Gorgeous Grape- 4 1/4 x 1 1/4"; 4 1/4 x 1 1/4"; 2 3/4" strip to cut out stitched square die
  • Purple Posy- 3 1/8 x 3 1/8"; 1/2" strip- stamp words onto- cut off & flag ends with Paper Snips
  • Whisper White- 2 1/2" strip- stamp flowers & stems onto & cut out with stitched square die
designer paper:
  • 2019-2020 In Color DSP- Purple Posy- 3/4 x 3"; 3/4 x 3"
Ink:  Gorgeous Grape & Granny Apple Green
other: Wink of Stella (over the flowers), Paper Snips (flagged the end of the banner for the words), Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Stitched Shapes Dies (Squares), 3/8" Tricolor Purple Ribbon

SOME TIPS from ME:
  1. Ink your solid image stamps (Photopolymer or Red Rubber) into VERSAMARK ink before you use them (when they are new).   SO YOU WOULD- ink your stamp into Versamark ink pad, stamp it onto a piece of scratch paper; use your Stampin' Mist & Scrub pad to clean the stamp(s).
  2. Then ink the stamp(s) into the desired color of ink you want.  (OR you could use your Stampin' Write Markers directly onto your stamp, breath onto it & stamp it onto your paper.)
  3. Why do you stamp into the Versamark ink first:  By doing this with your solid image photopolymer stamps, it coats them & gives them a better solid image when you stamp them with ink & helps with the ink in being more even, solid & bold looking.
      THEN ANOTHER TIP:
  • Those of you that stamp with me at my classes know that I often cut stamps apart if they have multiple images all connected into one stamp.   SO IF there are words & images connected- most generally I will cut them off & make them separate.  This way I can use them separately.  NOTE:  The 3 flowers in this stamp set are all one stamp & connected.  So I used my Paper Snips & cut my 3 flowers apart, so that I could stamp them all separately.  So I now have 3 separate flowers.  WHY DID I DO THIS?  Because that way I could use my ink pads & make them all 3 different colors.  OR I could stamp them all going the same direction OR I could stamp just one tulip image & stamp it 3 times, etc.  Mainly by doing this- it gives me more options in stamping the images differently than just for the one use.  IMPORTANT NOTE:  Once you cut them apart you can't put them back together- so make sure you do want them apart before you do it!
I have created another card using these same stems & flowers (in different colors)- that I'll be sharing with you sometime within the next week!  So be sure you stop back by & check out that card too!  You'll then see how I used the 3 flowers in 3 different colors & why it was easier for me to have them cut apart.
++++++++++
Yesterday was a busy day with the 5 kids here.  We played outside for most of the morning.  It was a beautiful day out!  Last night I stamped- as I'm working on swaps that I need to get done & in the mail for some groups I signed up to do.

This morning we are up early at 4:30.  Deke is off to chore & we are then headed to town, as Deke has a colonoscopy today.  Later this afternoon we'll have the 3 Seeley boys & take the twins to their baseball game tonight in Wellman.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!
Happy Stamping!

I just knew when I saw this bundle that the boys would love it!  And so do I!

Check out the distinktive shadowing look in the dinosaur.  COOL!

And check out this DSP!  It is from the See Silhouette pack.  Did you notice how it looks water colored & splattered.  It is pretty cool!  And I thought this DSP looked neat with this big dinosaur!

designer paper:  See Silhoutte
ink:  Blueberry Bushel
other:  1 1/2" Circle Punch, Paper Snips (to flap ends for banner), Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits (circles), dimensionals, glue dots

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids!  We ran errands in the morning, made Deke a BD cake, read lots of bookes, etc.  Last night the races & the baseball game were both cancelled due to the rain.  So we took our family & went out to eat supper to celebrate Deke's birthday!  It was fun!  Lots of laughs!  The boys sang "happy birthday" to Papa in the restaraunt.  It was priceless!  I loved it!  Everyone was looking at them & just smiling!

This morning we are up early at 5:00 to mark, sort & load hogs!  I'll hurry inside when we are done, as I have al 5 kids today. Tonight the boys all are suppose to have baseball games.  I'm not sure what we'll end up doing.  We will see how the day goes & what ends up happening.

I hope you have a great Thursday!!

And over the weekend I made this CUTE fall card with the stamp set!  You all know that I love fall!  I just couldn't resist making a card with the NEW Terracotta Tile In Color & pumpkins!!  I think it turned out super cute!

This truck reminds me of a favorite book around our home called- The Little Blue truck.  If you haven't ever read it, it is a great children's collections of books!  I have read them all MANY TIMES over the years.  The Little Blue Truck was Brody's favorite book when he was little.  And we still read it about once a week around here!

Yesterday was a busy day full of stamping!  I worked outside for a little bit this morning & then spent the rest of the day stamping!  The kids didn't get home until mid afternoon, so I didn't have anyone here with me.

Last night we picked up my mom & went to Brayden's baseball game.  His team won.  He had a few good plays.  He pitched some & did a good job!  When we got home I worked on assembling swaps that I've been working on.

This morning I'm up early to stamp & get my stamp mess cleaned up, as the kids will be here soon.  I'll spend my day with Masen & Ainslee today.  Tonight Deke & I hope to make a quick trip to Menards to get the kennel for Cocoa.  So we'll see how our day goes.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs-
SUSIE
