A fall 'Winter Woods' card!

This is a great fall card using the 'Winter Woods' bundle!!  I stamped the trees using Soft Suede Ink & then used my sponge daubers with Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive ink to lightly tap over the trees.  I think this turned out really pretty!  I know I played with lots of different ways & lots of different color combinations before I did this one- which I really like the way it turned out!
This is a fun fold/latch card.
The left side opens up & then the right side flips open too.

Notice the little circle that I have in the lower right corner for a 'latch'.  I have it popped up with 2 dimensionals (on the right hand back side).
This would make a great guy card too!

Nature's Beauty- deer

'Nature's Beauty' is a cool new image stamp in the Holiday Catalog on page 63.  Be sure you check it out!!  I will be sharing some more cards using this stamp set in the coming weeks.  It is a great set with endless possibilities!

I just love this deer.  What a great guy card this is!

If you look closely, notice that I used the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder.  I used my Sponge Brayer (on page 181) to ink the embossing folder, with Early Espresso ink, before I embossed it.  It looks pretty cool.  The detail in the embossed images show up.  Don't you just love the look of this cool Brick added to this card front!

stamp set:  'Nature's Beauty' & 'Itty Bitty Birthdays'
card stock:
  • Early Espresso- 8 1/2 x 11"- score at 4 1/4" & 5 1/2" & then cut card stock diagonally for the card base; 2 3/4 x 3 3/4"
  • Gray Granite- 4 x 5 1/4"; 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"- for Subtles Embossing Folder
  • Whisper White-4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card; 4 1/4" strip- stamp deer onto & cut out with the Stitched Oval
designer paper:  Come to Gather DSP
ink:  Early Espresso
Stampin' Blends:  Light Crumb Cake, Light & Dark Gray Graniteother:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Jolly Season Dies (for the tag), Stitched Shapes (largest oval), White Twine, Banner Triple Punch, Standard Platform, Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder, Subtles Embossing Folder, Sponge Brayer, Dimensionals, Glue Dots
I did this as a fun fold......as originally I wasn't going to add the Brick & Mortar Embossing folder to is.  So when someone opens it- they will be a surprise!  I love the fold.

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  Masen, Ainslee & I went out to eat lunch with some of my family- to celebrate my mom's birthday!  The other 4 boys got out of school early (@ 1:30), due to the heat.  They all rode the bus out here.  So our house was kind of wild, but fun to have them all here.

We all went to Brody & Drake's football game.  Deke & I then made a quick trip to Osky to deposit a hog check.  I worked on stamping stuff when we got home.

This morning I'm off early to Manda's.  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with Trey & Ainslee.  Tonight I'll be stamping again!

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a great Thursday!
Happy Stamping!

'Well Dressed'

Today I'm sharing a sneak peek of another upcoming 2nd Release Sale-a-bration stamp set called- 'Well Dressed'. It is a fun guy card with 8 different images in it!!  It will be available on March 3rd, 2020!

I combined this 'Well Dressed' Sale-a-bration stamp set with the 'Sending You Thoughts' Sale-a-bration stamp, which is a set of words & I used the Country Club Designer Paper too!

When I got done with this card- I liked it a lot!  I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I started it.  I just needed to create a quick card before I went to bed, so I could get this blog post done.  And it is crazy here this week with the Wood kids staying with us.

I made the little holes in the ends of the Tailored Tag Punch using the  Label My Fancy Punch!  And then strung some Country Club Twine through the holes.  Neat huh!

NOTE:  I did not wrap the twine completely around this.  I cut 2 pieces that are both about 5" long.  I put the twine through the holes & then taped them to the back of the Basic Black card stock strip, using my Tear & Tape to secure it.
There is no dies for this 'Well Dressed' stamp set- so I fussy cut out the hat, using my Paper Snips.  But it was fast & easy to do!

So what do you think?  I know it seems I am always needing a guy card!  So I'm excited about this new 'Well Dressed' stamp set.  It will be available on March 3rd to get as a FREE choice with a $50 product order.

'Waterfront'- so beautiful!!

WOW!  I don't know about you, but I think that this new stamp set- 'Waterfront' is just an amazing stamp set!!  It is full of endless possibilities!

This is a fun fold card too!!  It is a perfect guy card! Or it would make a great sympathy card too!  How about a get well card or thinking of you card?  There are many different occasions that it could work for.

This is one of the cards that everyone joining me for my monthly February stamp classes will be making with me.
Check it out!!  I only used 2 different colors of ink pads here & I still think it is stunning!

TIP:  The tree on the far right- I did take my Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker & add a little to the bottom of the tree trunk- as it didn't quite touch the mountains (or hill) there & I didn't wait it floating in mid air!

How did I stamp it?
  • Stamp the mountain first- using the Night of Navy ink pad.
  • Then stamp the trees- using the Night of Navy ink pad.
  • I inked the water image into the Night of Navy ink pad & then stamped it off onto my grid paper, before stamping it onto my square piece of card stock here.
  • Add the birds- using the Night of Navy ink pad.
  • And lastly I inked the sun in the So Saffron & stamped it!
How did I fold it?
  • Night of Navy- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score 3/4", 2 1/8", 6 3/8", 7 3/4"
  • I then used Tear & Tape to stick down the 2 flaps that I folded back.
Here are the supplies:
'Waterfront'- #146386- (photopolymer)= $17.00- OC- pg. 48

'High Tide'- #143006- (photopolymer)= $26.00- pg. 140- I used the birds!
card stock:

  • Night of Navy R (24)-#100867= $8.00- pg. 185  5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score
  • Crumb Cake N (24)- #120953= $8.00- pg. 185  3 1/2 x 3 1/2"; 2" strip

Yesterday we woke up to more snow & blowing/drifting.  Thankfully it stopped before noon.  School was let out early though at 1:00- so all of the boys were here early from school.  So grandma opened up Susie's Hair Hut- so Brody & Brayden both got their hair cut!  The other guys/boys will hopefully get their done in the next week or so.

When the kids were gone last night I worked on sorting orders & cutting card stock!

This morning we are up early at 4:30 a.m. & headed outside to blade the snow so that the semi can get in & out safely!  We'll then mark, sort & load hogs.  I'll then spend the rest of my day/night cutting card stock & getting everything ready for tomorrow's stamp classes.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!!

Grassy Grove

Check out this pretty card.
I love the way it turned out.
It is a great guy card that could be used for many different occasions.

This scene is what it looks like when I look out the window on our farm.
I just love seeing nature's beauty!
I made this into a fun z fold card.
This is what it looks like when standing up!
Do you notice the embossed trees along the left edge of the card?
You don't see it as much as I thought you would- but it is still
some added texture that adds to the card.
I used the Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder for this.

There is a little omitting of the ink on the sky & grass?
I did this on purpose.......
That is because I wanted this to have a water color look to it.

NOTE:  With these solid image photopolymer stamps you WILL want
to have a piercing mat underneath your paper when you stamp the image,
so that you get a good stamped image.

How did I do it?
1.  Ink stamp in the Balmy Blue Ink.
2. Lightly spray water onto the stamp &
press it down onto the Watercolor Paper.
3.  Ink the middle section stamp into the Pear Pizzazz Ink.
4.  Lightly spray water onto the stamp
& press it down onto the Watercolor Paper.
5.  Ink the ground/grass & trees in Old Olive Ink & stamp them.
*I DID NOT spray water onto these when stamping them.
6.  Stamp the deer onto Very Vanilla card stock,
using Soft Suede Ink & then die cut it out.

Here are the supplies & measurements.
stamp sets:  'Ocean Front' (sky, meadow & hill), 'Grassy Grove'(deer, tall grass, trees), 'Let's Set Sail' (birds) & 'Expressions of Friendship' (hostess set for the words)
card stock:
  • Old Olive- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 2 1/8"(emboss this) & 4 1/4"- fold for z fold card base
  • Early Espresso-3 1/2 x 5 1/4"
  • Balmy Blue-3 1/4 x 4 1/4"
  • Balmy Blue- 1/4 x 3 1/4"
  • Old Olive- 1/2 x 2 1/2"

  • Very Vanilla- 2" strip- stamp deer onto & die cut out

A cool guy card!

Here is a cool guy card that is a fun fold!  I made this card for a monthly swap that I'm in with some other demonstrators.  I really like this goose that is in the 'Moon Lake' stamp set.

Graceful Glass- a stained glass window easel card!

Good morning!!  Can you believe that it is the last day of July already?  Wow- this month just flew by.

Don't forget that today is the last day to take advantage of the Buy 3 Designer Papers & get one for FREE!  You can see that special by CLICKING HERE!

Check out this cool card!  I think it turned out really pretty!

I was playing with coloring some of the images in this Graceful Glass (6x6) Vellum pack.  This square worked out perfect to do this fun fold with.

Isn't this vellum just beautiful!  It really does look like a stained glass window.

The front side of the vellum has a black embossed image on it.

If you want it to be more subtle- like a true stained glass window- then color it on the back side of the vellum/image.  If you want it to be more bold & vibrant- then color it on the front side.
Look at it when it opened up!  It is a fun fold easel card.

stamp set: ' Painted Glass'
card stock:  Gorgeous Grape, Basic Black, Vellum
designer paper:  Graceful Glass 6x6 vellum
ink:  Black Stazon
Stampin' Blends combo packs:  Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Pineapple Punch
other:  Glitter Enamel Dots, Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Yesterday was a busy day with 6 kids!  Manda & I got the twins birthday invites created & ended up making 19 of them. Their party is going to be at the park.....so I'll share their card sometime soon.  It turned out really cute!

The kids had fun playing together.  Weather wise it was a beautiful day out for July!  So I'm glad they got to be out in it & enjoy it!

Last night when the kids went home I was a farmer.  I headed outside to work on the farm & help Deke.  Steve came out to help us awhile too, as we had lots of pigs to sort.

When I got in I made supper & worked on getting more things that were in our wet bathroom put away.  And I did a little stamping stuff before we finally called it a night.  Deke had a terrible day, as the hopper on one of the bins broke & he had almost 5 tons of feed all over the finisher.  He had to scoop it up with a shovel, cart out & reload it in the mixer.  It was a huge mess!  I felt so bad for him.  Brayden went out to help him for awhile when he got home from his board meeting.  And our feed guy, Dustin helped him for about an hour too.  And on top of everything else, Deke picked up a bad cold too (probably on the plane).  I sure hope that none of the rest of us end up getting it.

This morning I'm up early to walk & spend my day with the 3 Wood kids.  I have my yearly allergy dr appointment later this afternoon in Bloomfield.  I have to pick up Manda on my way home (as they are getting their van worked on).  And then tonight I'm gonna work on stamping stuff!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Happy Stamping!

It is a fun z fold card!

 So what do you think?

Here are the supplies & measurements that I used to create it.

Last night Deke worked late & I burnt the midnight oil working on stamping stuff!

This morning we are up early.  Deke is off to chore & head to his office at the courthouse. He'll then head to Mt. Pleasant for an afternoon meeting- so he'll be gone all day!

And I'm headed to Manda's, as she has an early meeting.  I'll take the boys to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  Tonight the 3 big boys will ride the bus out again after school.  The twins have a FB game & Brayden has FB practice- so we'll be headed to town to watch the twins game.  I'll then work on cutting card stock & burning the midnight oil again when we get home!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!

'All That You Are'

Here is another fun fold card that everyone joining me for my March monthly classes will be making!!!

Isn't it bright & cheery!  It makes me think of spring!  WOO HOO!! I know I'm sure ready for warmer temps & winter to be over with.

How did I do these flowers?
  1. Stamp the flowers onto Vellum card stock, using the Black Stazon ink pad & Stamparatus!
  2. FLIP the Vellum over & using Stampin' Blends- color the images!
  3. On strips of Whisper White card stock I stamped the 2 littler flower, using my Black Memento ink & then colored them using the Stampin' Blends & fussy cut them out using my Paper Snips.
QUESTIONS:
  • WHY do I color on the back side of the stamped image?  Because Stazon ink is not intended to be used with the Alcohol Based Stampin' Blends.  The Stazon will bleed & the black Stazon ink will then transfer onto your Stampin' Blend tip & make a big mess.
  • WHY did I use Stazon ink instead of my Black Memento ink when stamping the flowers onto the Vellum card stock?  Because the Black Memento will not dry on vellum.....it will smear!
  • SO I have 2 black ink pads I used here, doing 2 different techniques on just one card!
  • Don't hesitate to ask me if you have any questions about this!
This is what the card looks like opened up.
stamp set:  'All That You Are'
card stock:
  • Daffodil Delight- 7 3/4 x 4 1/4 "- score at 5 1/2" for card base; 4 1/4 x 3 3/4"; 3/8" strip- stamp words onto & cut off strip with paper snips to your desired length, then flag ends using your paper snips too!
  • Whisper White- 4 x 5 1/4"- stamp greeting on for the inside of the card; 4 1/2 x 3 1/2- for outside of card layer- adhere vellum to the top of this; 1 1/2" strip- stamp flowers onto &fussy cut out with your paper snips
  • Vellum-4 1/4 x 3 1/4- stamp flowers/leaf images onto this

We arrived in Utah about noon.  We had a super nice driver take us to our hotel.  Our room wasn't ready yet- so we walked about 1 1/2 miles & had a yummy turkey pot pie for lunch at one of my favorite places- the Nauvoo Cafe in the Temple Square.  And then after some mess ups- we finally got checked into our room.  Waiting for us was a cool wooden create with snacks in it!  And a beautiful Tag & note from Sara & Shelli.  Our room is huge & pretty!  The hotel is old & gorgeous.  The luggage guy, Clark- is such a nice man & so sweet & helpful!

Deke took a little nap & then my friend Donna & her husband Jeff - picked us up at our hotel & we had a great supper & wonderful time visiting with them!  And I'm so bummed we didn't get a picture of all us together!  We are thankful for their friendship & thrilled they made the time to come eat with us & visit!

This morning we are up & headed to our Riverton Office for my celebration!!  I know it will be an amazing day.......I am excited, nervous & anxious!

I hope you have WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  When they left I did bookworlk (farm & stamping) all evening long.  And I'm still not caught up on it!!!  And Deke worked late on the farm- trying to get caught up from being gone to so many meetings this week.   Ughh.....nothing like making & eating supper at 9:00 p.m.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to another meeting.  I'm up early to work on stamping stuff, then head to town, take the twins to school & spend my day with the 3 little ones.  Since today is May Day- we'll be making May baskets.  The boys & I have been talking about making these for a week- so we'll see what Grandma ends up coming up with for them to make!  Do you remember celebrating May Day when you were growing up?  I sure do!  We use to make May Day baskets for everyone in our neighborhood & leave them on their doors.  When I worked at the courthouse I use to make May Day baskets & hang on everyone's doors there too!  I think it is just always fun to give everyone a little treat that is a surprise!

Today is Brayden's birthday!  Can you believe that he is 11 years old already!  Where does the time go?  I so remember getting the call from Nathan to come to the hospital.  We sat with Kimi's parents in the lobby, trying to patiently wait for his arrival!  He was a perfect, beautiful dark haired baby boy & he has grown into a super sweet, very caring, smart & talented young man.  Tonight we are all going to Brayden's band concert & everyone is looking forward to that.  Then we were suppose to race tonight too- but due to the rain, they are cancelled for tonight.  So we'll probably all eat supper out & then I'll come home & stamp!  Humm......imagine that!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!
