Graceful Deer fun fold

WOW- this is a cool fun fold card!
And check out these cool deer!

This could make a neat holiday card or a neat guy card!
Which card do you like better?
THIS OR THAT?
THIS- the colored 'winter greetings' one?
OR
THAT- the 'thinking of you' one?

This is one of the cards that everyone joining me at my October

Everyone will get to decide if they want to color on their card or leave it plain.
#162084- Graceful Deer background stamp= $25.00

To make it more versatile to use I cut mine apart.
YUP- CAREFULLY  I cut it (looking at the red rubber side) in 4 places.
I did NOT cut out any of the images or part of the stamp.
By leaving it this way I can still put it all back together
& use as one big background stamp.
OR I can use all 3 deer separately or come a couple of them.
When looking down onto the card from the top,
this is what the card looks like when standing up.
I hope you like this fun fold card as much I do!

Nathan didn't have good luck last night.  He got 4th in his heat & 10th in main.  The motor isn't running right.....so the guys worked late in the shop when they got home from the races.

I burnt the midnight oil cutting card stock all night last night.  I still have some to finish yet this morning before I go pick up the boys.  When they leave I'll be a busy bee setting up tables/chairs & projects.  Tonight I have a house full coming to stamp with me!  I am looking forward to seeing everyone & sharing!

Brayden has his first baseball game tonight (if it doesn't get rained out)- so Deke will go to that.  I am bummed I can't, but I'll be at the next one.  Brayden isn't excited about playing ball- so I hope that he ends up liking it.  I think he will.  He didn't care for playing soccer either at the beginning & ended up loving it!

OK- I've gotta run.......
I hope you have a great day!!
Happy Stamping!

I love making guy cards.  We always need them & never seem to have enough.

This card is a swap that I made for my SU! On Stage last weekend.  I used the 'Rustic Retreat' stamp set from the Annual Catalog- pg. 49.

Look at the pile of these deer cards laying on our kitchen island, as I was creating last Thursday night.
I did a fun door fold card here too!  It is super easy to do & something fun & different!  You all know that I love fun folds!  This is one of my favorites- as it is so different.
How did I make that fold?

Yesterday was a busy day with Masen, Ainslee & Acea.  Nathan was in Des Moines for a meeting all day it was about 6:15 when he got home.  They were headed to town for Brayden's basketball practice.  As Sarah had a meeting in Fairfield.  When the kids went home I picked up toys, answered some emails & did bookwork.  Deke got in late, but the corn is finally all picked & he got 60 big cornstalk bales made.  I made him a late supper & we called it a night.  Our whole week is literally just crazy!

This morning we are up early.  Deke is off to chore & head to Ottumwa for another meeting.  I'm off to Manda's.  I'll take the twins to school & spend my day with Trey & Ainslee.  All of the boys will ride the bus out after school.  The Wood kids are here for the weekend, as Nathan & Sarah are out of town until Sunday night.  Tonight we load a semi of hogs at 6:00.  The 3 kids will go with us & we'll see how that goes.  We'll eat a late supper, take baths, read a few books & it will probably be time for bed.

I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

Wildlife Wonder

This is a great guy card!!
It is a totally Susie card.
It is sooo pretty!

I used the 'Wildlife Wonder' stamp set,
along with the Grove Dies.
Check out the background.
It is the New Horizon DSP!
WOW!
Every sheet of this DSP is just absolutely gorgeous!
NOTE:  There are no dies for this wolf.
So I stamped him onto a strip of Crumb Cake card stock,
using Memento ink.
I then took my scissors & fussy cut him out.
It wasn't hard at all.
This is a fun z fold card & just stunning!

You can CLICK HERE to see another guy card I made using
this New Horizon DSP & Grove Dies!
Here are the measurements & supplies.

Here is a Merry Tags Framelit Die card!

Check out this cute deer in the Merry Tags Framelit Die!  I partnered it up with the Woodland Embossing Folder.  I thought it made a great fall card or a great guy card!

This is a also a fun fold- 'gate fold' card.  The top come up & the bottom goes down.

I used the Burlap ribbon again....think I'm getting kind of addicted to it.  I like the width of it & it is stiff & great to work with to add dimension to a card or project.
It is clean & simple- but very cool!

stamp set:  'Sunburst Sayings'
card stock:  Early Espresso, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
ink:  Early Espresso
other:  Big Shot, Precision Plate, Merry Tag Framelit Die, Classic Label Punch, 2" Circle Punch, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Burlap Ribbon, New Platoform, Woodland Embossing Folder

AND CHECK THIS CARD OUT.......
I made this same card into a Christmas card.  Look closely at the snowflakes here!

What do you think?  I used a sponge dauber & a Whisper White Craft Ink Pad & lightly rubbed the Woodland Embossed (Crumb Cake) piece.  I then added some little snowflakes from the 'Greetings from Santa' stamp set!  I also used the 'Teeny Tiny Wishes' (Merry Christmas) words here too with the Classic Label Punch.

This card was the 6th one everyone at my October monthly classes got to make with me last week.

I gave everyone at my classes the option of making either the fall OR Christmas card.  I think it was a toss up as to which they all liked the best.  It was about 1/2 & 1/2 making each of them.

I am not sure which one I like the best.  I am a snowflake lover....so do really like that card too.

++++++
The boys & I were outside alot yesterday- it was warm & windy!  They should have slept good last night.  Brayden rode the bus here after school, so we were all glad we got to see him for a bit- but he had basket ball practice, so wasn't here too long.  After the other boys left I burnt the midnight oil working on entering orders & doing bookwork.  Deke worked late on the farm with the pigs, since it to was too wet for him to be in the field.

This morning I'm off early to walk & then head in to pick up the boys.  Poor little Masen had a fever last night, so he might be going to the dr today & not coming here.  Deke will be home all day today to work on the farm.

Tonight when the boys go home I'll be a stamping!!  And if it is dry enough, Deke will be going back out to work in the field.

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

Here is a beautiful flower card!!

Here is a pretty card that I did at my classes this month.  My dear Stampin' Sister friend- Brenda Keenan shared this technique with vellum on a card she did & I knew right away that I'd have to do it.

Years ago when I started stamping, light boxes were the 'in thing' & we used a stylus to trace & draw in images.  This technique is different from that, but sure reminded me of the 'old days'.

How did I do it?
  • I stamped the top of the flower image onto a 2 3/4' strip of Vellum card stock using a Black Stazon pad.
  • I turned the flower image over & using a paper piercing mat & the fat end of a stylus, I rubbed onto the vellum.  When you rub onto the vellum it turns it white & a little raised!  Now how cool is that!
  • Then you have to use your paper snips & cut out the flower.
  • I attached it to the card using a dimensional in the middle of the vellum.
TIP:  If you have problems with your stylus not gliding well on your vellum, you can put a piece of waxed paper between your vellum & your stylus to help it rub smoothly.
I just love this stamp set!  And YES- the awesome background image is part of this flower stamp set too!  I just think this card is so pretty & was definitely a favorite of many that stamped with me this month.

stamp set:  'You've Got This'
card stock:  Mint Macaron, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Vellum
ink:  Black Stazon, Mint Macaron
other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Oval Collection Framelits, Dimensionals, Glue Dot, Stampin' Piercing Mat, Simply Scored Stylus, Mint Macaron 1" Dotted Lace Ribbon
I did a fun fold layout with this card.  Check out how it opens up!

Would you like to have the dimensions to this card?
  • Mint Macaron- 5 1/4 x 8- fold in half & cut oval out of the center of the front;  4 x 3/4
  • Basic Black- 5 1/2 x 4 1/4; 4 x 1
  • Very Vanilla- 5 x 7 1/2- fold in half
  • Vellum- 2 3/4" strip
  • ribbon- 4"
TIP:  Be sure that you have your Very Vanilla card piece opening the 'wrong' way as shown above.

Yesterday was my dad's birthday & today is the anniversary of his passing 9 years ago.  Our hearts are still broken & we miss him tons.  There isn't a day that goes by that we don't think of him.  I sure wish he was here to spend time with his family!  We saw him multiple times a week & he ate supper with us often.  He was just always around!  He was an awesome guy that knew everyone, could fix anything, worked hard & loved his family.  He'd sure enjoy & have fun with all of our little boys around here.  Even though they never met their Papa John- believe me- they know all about him- his favorite foods, his favorite color, favorite sayings, etc.

Tonight we'll all be going racing.  This is the one race each year that Nathan wants to win really bad because of  my dad (& I think he has won this race 6 or 7 times out of the last 8 years).....and then Nathan takes the trophy to the cemetery.  When Nathan won this race 9 years ago- that was the last race that my dad was ever at.  Nathan won & my dad proudly stood in victory lane & got his picture taken with Nathan that night.  My dad rarely missed a race- EVER.  And he was Nathan's biggest fan!  I sure miss him sitting by me each night at the races.  So- we've all got our fingers crossed that Nathan has a good night of racing & a win would be sweet!  Maybe a very special guardian angel will be watching over Nathan while racing tonight.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!
