Sending Thankful Thoughts!!

Wow- this is such a pretty card- don't you think!  It is stunning in person.  It is just a perfect fall card!!

I made this card for one of my Holiday Extravaganza class projects that I had the end of last month.  I've saved posting it so that I could share it today!  Not only are the pumpkins & leaves perfect for this time of year, but I thought that the words were perfect for sharing on Thanksgiving Day!

These pumpkins are just gorgeous!  They have such dimension, color & reality to them.  And can you believe that they are from the  Toil & Trouble Designer Series Paper (the Halloween designer paper) on page 49 in the Holiday Catalog.  I know- wow huh!  There isn't a framelit that goes with these pumpkins, but they weren't that hard at all to just fussy cut out with my Paper Snips.
I thought the pumpkins needed some leaves to go with them.   So check out how I took the Leaf punch & cut apart the leaves to tuck in under the pumpkins.
Of course I had to add some pumpkins & leaves to the inside of my card too!
Did you notice how I used the Woodland Embossing Folder on the background here.  I then took my sponge dauber & lightly rubbed some Crumb Cake ink over the top of the trees so that they would pop a little more.

It is kind of card to tell by the photo, but added a 4 x 2" strip of Old Olive along the card front bottom.  I curved the ends alittle, so that it looked more like grass.  And then I actually took that piece of card stock, wadded it up- making lots of creases & crinkles in it & then smoothed it back out.  I wanted to add some extra dimension to it.

stamp set:  'Flourish Filigree'
card stock:
  • Early Espresso-
  • Old Olive-
  • Crumb Cake-
designer paper:  Toil & Trouble Designer Paper
ink:  Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
other:  Big Shot, Standard Platform, Woodland Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Leaf Punch, Everyday Label Punch, Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Gold Metallic Pearls, 5/8" Striped Burlap Ribbon (I cut this ribbon in strips to wrap one around the card front & tied the other half in a knot & then shredded the ends).
+++++++++++
I spent my day yesterday with all 6 kids.  I love them all dearly, but all 6 of them together sure is crazy!  It works best to pair them up!  When Manda got here to get their boys, Drake decided he was staying with me for awhile longer to keep me company!  When he went home I started cooking,  getting things made for today's Thanksgiving lunch.  I made an Oreo Dessert & 2 batches of home made noodles.

This morning I'll finish cooking......I have 2 hams to bake & a chicken too!  And then my home made noodles that I made last night to cook too!  We are going to my sister Beckie & Dan's for lunch with my side of the family.  I think there will be a big group of us there.

Happy Thanksgiving to each of you!!  I hope you have a very blessed day with family & friends!  I know I have alot to be thankful for!  I have an awesome husband & family.  And on my list of thankful things is each of you!  Thank you for stamping with me & letting me share my love of stamping with you!!

I hope you enjoy this special day!
Happy Stamping!

Our Thankful Banner!!

One day earlier this month the boys didn't have school.
They are all very crafty!!!
Drake is my stamper.
He wanted to make a banner.
So we made this "THANKFUL" banner for Thanksgiving.
Manda has it hanging on the mantel of their fireplace, in their living room.

Drake did all of the Big Shot cutting of the letters & the circles, attached them to the dsp banners, punched the holes & helped put everything on the twine.
I think that it turned out super cute!
What do you think?

I was also impress that he was so excited about the reverse image of the letters.
He mounted that strip of card stock onto a another piece of card stock & took it home too.
I must admit, it was pretty cool.
We had spaced out the letters, had them in the correct order & it did look neat.

card stock:  Tranquil Tide, Crumb Cake
designer paper:  Nature's Poem DSP
other:  Paper Snips (to flag each dsp banner piece),  Layering Circles Framelits, Large Letter Framelits, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, 1/2' Circle Punch, Twine, Detailed Leaves Thinlits Dies, Dimensionals

Yesterday was a busy day with all of the kids.  Last night we took the whole family to the Grinch movie!  It was fun to listen to the boys & see their excitement.  It was a good movie.  We had a fun family night out!

This morning I'm off early to head to Manda's, as she has an early meeting.  I'll hurry & head home with the 3 boys, as the other 3 will be here early too.  I'll spend my day with all 6 kids.  Tonight when they go home I will be working on stamping stuff & making food for our Thanksgiving dinner.

I have a huge mess, as my main computer crashed last week.  It is the one that I had all of my documents on, emails, email groups, etc.  I lost everything!!!  I have a back up.  It is brand new & still in the box on the shelf.  I had never set it up.  It just makes me sick.

I have my lap top computer, but I don't use it for doing much other than my blog posts & placing orders.  I don't have anything for my SU! business saved on it.  I need to get emails sent out about my upcoming December calendar classes......and pray I can find at least 1/2 of my customer base emails.   It is going to be a challenge to do & very time consuming too.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

Christmas Wreath!!

This is the last of my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack cards!  This is a Susie card with the layout, colors & image!  I love the clean & simple look here with the farmhouse style.

This wreath is in the Holiday catalog.  Check out the awesome set- 'Wishing You Well'!  It is one of my favorite sets!  And it is one of the Holiday Catalog items that will be carrying over too!  WOO HOOO!!  If you search my blog using the "Search this Blog" link here on the right hand side- you'll see LOTS of other cards I have previously made using other images in this stamp set!

Look at how full my wreath is!  I stamped the wreath image & then restamped it several times over the image again & again, without reinking the stamp, so that I could get this fuller & shadowed look.

I used the cool plaid designer paper that is in the Festive Farmhouse pack.  If this is on your wish list, you'll want to get it before it is gone.  It will be gone the end of December (or before if supplies run out).

I used the colors- Mossy Meadow, Cherry Cobbler & Very Vanilla!  They are none traditional Christmas colors, but they are totally my style.

Check out the Red pearls.  How did I get them?  I colored them with my Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blend!  So just think of the endless possibilities you have in customizing your own pearls (& rhinestones) with any color of Stampin' Blends!
The cool burlap ribbon that I used here too is in the Farmhouse Suite on page 13 in the Holiday Catalog.  It is on the list for being low in supply!  If you want this, don't wait to get it ordered!

I just LOVE this Dist"ink"tive look of the bow here!  Check out all of the detail in it.  Isn't it amazing that this is just a stamp!  I stamped the bow, using Cherry Cobbler ink onto a strip of Very Vanilla card stock & just fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips.  Neat huh!  I then used my Wink of Stella over the entire bow to give it a more blended look!

For the little banner flag with the greeting on it.......I just stamped the words onto a 1/2" strip of Very Vanilla card stock & then cut them off of the strip & flagged the one end using my Paper Snips.

stamp set:  'Wishing You Well'
card stock:
  • Mossy Meadow-
  • Cherry Cobbler-
  • Very Vanilla-
designer paper:  Festive Farmhouse
ink:  Mossy Meadow & Cherry Cobbler
Stampin' Blends:  Dark Cherry Cobbler
other:  5/8" Striped Burlap Ribbon, Paper Snips, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Wink of Stella, Basic Pearls

NOTE:  I used Champagne Shimmer Paint with Rubbing Alcohol Spray to add shimmer to the completed card!

Yesterday was a busy day with 4 little ones!  It was fun to see Ainslee have a little girl too, to play with.  As my great niece Brooklyn spent the day with us too yesterday!  The 3 big boys road the bus here after school.  So we had a house full for a while.

Last night Deke & I made a quick trip to Ottumwa to get a new mail box, as ours has gotten hit 2 times just lately.  The door was completely broken off of it & so we had a tiny old one on our post, that we found in our junk shed.  While we were there we decided to go to the Disney movie- Nutcracker & the Four Realms.  The music was awesome!  The costumes were beautiful!  The plot- was different.......it was created by a person that has a very vivid imagination.   This is the first movie that Deke & I have been to (together) in a movie theater in over 30 years!  I can't believe that he went.  He survived, but I know I'd never get him to go to watch that exact movie ever again.

This morning we are up early!  I'm off to town to get the boys & take the twins to school.  I'll then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The 3 big boys get out of school early today, so everyone will be here for the afternoon.

Tonight I'll be stamping!
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!!
Happy Stamping!

WOW- what a busy weekend full of stamping, stamping & more stamping!!!  I had a great time with everyone that joined me.  We had several new friends join us too! Cindy & Norma were my hostesses today & they were awesome!!

Last night when I got home, Deke & I sorted farm records, as today we have our annual audit so that we can continue to sell antibiotic free pork!  It is such a good thing to be able to do this.  I know we eat mainly pork at our home.  And the pork we eat isn't like most of the pork that is sold at the many grocery stores.  We are lucky we live close to some good lockers & get to have our own meat processed there for us to eat.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'm off to town to Manda's, will take the twins to school & then spend my day with Trey, Masen, Ainslee & my great niece Brooklyn will be here today too!

Tonight when the kids go home I'll work on placing orders so that I can connect with my hostesses.  And get caught up on some other things hopefully too!

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

Candy Cane

This is one of the cards for my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack classes that everyone has been making with me this weekend!  I love it that there is a punch that coordinates with this stamp set!

Can a card be clean & simple, yet elegant?  I love the dimension in this card with the layering of the candy canes & the added bling & sparkle of the snowflakes & the Red Rhinestones!

Manda's Birthday!! And a Christmas card pull out!

Wow- today is a special day!!!  Our baby is 32!!  Oh my- where does the time go?  How can that be?   Manda was a beautiful dark haired baby girl that has become a beautiful young woman.  She is a great mom, wife, sister, daughter & friend to many!!  I am sad that I have a full weekend of working & won't get to see her today.  We'll have to do something special some evening next week to all celebrate.  She is a true blessing in our life!  And I'm thankful I get to see her almost every day.

Dashing Deer

I love this big deer.  He is very elegant looking!  Check out the background.  I added some snowflakes to it!  I embossed the snowflakes using the Blizzard Thinlits Die & the Embossing Mats.

Check out the Copper Pearls.  Where did they come from?  I used a sponge dauber & the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint to color the Basic Pearls!  They dried fast!  It was so easy to do!

Where did I get that corner punch?  I used the Everyday Label punch.  Here is how I snipped the corners!
I am always looking for other ways to get the most out of my products.  And I'm also a big punch girl!  So This is just a fun different look to do!

Some On Stage happenings!

Here are the stars of our show as they kicked off sharing all about
Stampin' Up! celebrating our 30th Anniversary!!!
This is Sarah Douglas & Shelli Gardner!!!
They are both amazing women that I'm so proud & honored to know.

These amazing ladies are part of my team & traveling partners!!!
Dawn, Rory, me, Lynda & Janeen
We had a great time together last week in Orlando, at On Stage together!
I'm blessed to have them in my life!
It was wonderful to see them & spend our time together!!
Rory lives in New York, so I hadn't seen her in person for several years.
I just so enjoyed seeing her & spending time with all of them!

We went to Universal Studios for supper the first night.
I was amazed at all of the stores & restaurants that were

outside the actual park & free to go to!
It was sooo hot & humid there.
(I am thankful I live in Iowa with the cold & less humidity!)
We walked around outside the parks each night & saw some fun things!
Everything at Disney was decorated for Christmas!
It was just sooo pretty!!
And they were playing Christmas music too.
It brought out the kid in each of us, along with reminding us of the magic that the holidays bring.

I am always looking for someone to share a meal with me.
This is one of the many meals that Lynda & I shared last week.
WOW- it was huge! And it was yummy!
Centre Stage group
This photo was taken at our Leaders Centre Stage class the last day.
I am sitting with a great group of ladies & dear friends of mine!
We try to sit together at each On Stage event that we can.
It is always great to see them & catch up on things.

I can't beileve that it has been 17 1/2 years ago that I signed up to be
a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!!
I have so loved sharing & stamping with so many over these years!!!
And then I think of all of the things I've done, great ladies I've met &
far away places we've been over these years.
It is just unbelieveable!
And it is all because I am signed up to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!

Christmas Ornaments!

This ornament card is a very non traditional one.  I love the way it turned out!  This ornament set it pretty cute!

This is one of the 5 cards everyone will be making this week at my Christmas Stamp-a-Stack classes.  They get to make 2 each of 5 different cards.

When we were on the Stampin' Up! incentive trip in July, there was a card on the display board with these ornaments.  It was nothing like this card, but it sure caught my eye & made me see the possibilities in creating with this set!

I used the 'Beautiful Baubles' stamp set for the ornaments.  And 'Christmas Traditions Punch Box' for the words, along with the cute punch too!

The designer paper is from the Country Lane DSP.  It is suppose to be fall, but I love the Blackberry Bliss color & thought it worked great for a more modern Christmas card here.

Of course......you have to have some bling!  I added some Basic Rhinestones over some of the sparkle images.  And finished it off by adding a little bow in the top corner.

So what do you think?  I hope you like it as much as I do!

stamp sets:  'Beautiful Baubles' & 'Christmas Traditions Punch Box'
card stock:  Smoky Slate, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White
designer paper:  Country Lane
ink:  Black Berry Bliss
other:  Basic Rhinestones, Punch (from Christmas Traditions Tin), dimensionals, Glue Dots, Nature's Twine pack (Blackberry Bliss)

So I've had many phone calls, some emails & several of you that have asked me in person (even other demonstrators (some I knew & some I'd never met before) when I was at On Stage) as to why I wasn't journaling much any more.  Honestly- I've been so busy lately with pigs, kids & stamping that I am having a hard time keeping up with everything.  And I haven't had much sleep.  So not taking the extra time each night before I go to bed to add more to my post is what was was going on.  I'll try to add some for all of you to keep track of us.  I often just feel like I'm a broken record though.  So it warms my heart that you read my journaling & care about what our family is doing.  Thank you all for caring!  And thank you all for asking & checking in on me!

Yesterday was an early & busy day with the kids.  Last night when they went home I made a quick trip to Osky to deposit a hog check & pick up a few groceries.  We were out of milk & bread & a few other things that I had to have.  When I got home I put away groceries & made Deke a late supper when he finally got in.  I then burnt the midnight oil stamping!

It has been a busy week here on the farm.  As we are excited to report that our corn is finally all picked!!  Jessie & Nate came down late on Monday afternoon to start it.  Masen got to ride in the combine for awhile with Nate (so he was super excited about that).  We've been working on potty training him & I'm very pleased to report that he is doing awesome (finally)!!!  I officially only have one (Ainslee) in diapers now- so that is pretty cool!  My boys are all getting to be big boys!

Deke had 2 meetings yesterday & then worked late on the farm moving corn around & hauling in big cornstalk bales.  Ben got here yesterday afternoon & thankfully it was dry enough that he got 132 big cornstalk bales done for us.  That is great as now our piggies will have some nice warm bedding to sleep in this winter, as we didn't have any left over at all from last fall.

Today is a busy day for everyone around here again.  Nathan, Sarah, Manda & Steve, all have early meetings.  So I'm off early to go to Manda's house.  And Deke is going to go chore early & then come back in to stay with Masen & Ainslee until I get back from town & taking the twins to school.  I'm glad Deke is able to help me out this morning, as it sure makes it much easier for me to not have them all to take in & out of the vehicles.  Deke then has a meeting to attend later this morning in Mt. Pleasant & he will come home to work on picking up more big cornstalk bales this afternoon/ evening.  Tonight when the kids go home I'll be a busy bee cutting LOTS of card stock!!!

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

Christmas Truck!

This as one of my Holiday Extravaganza.  Isn't this truck just so cool!!!

Check out the fence, truck, snow, holly/Berries & swirls!

Here are some tips:
  • Where did the swirls come from?  Look closely at the Antlers on the Detailed Deer Thinlits Die.  Yep- it is 2 of them cut out!  And then the Holly/Berries is put over it where they join.  Cool huh!!
  • The fence is just cut out once, then cut in half & the big space in the center is covered up by the Oval Framelits!
  • Notice the background- it is the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
  • Do you see the snow?  I added it using the Multipurpose Glue & Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.
This card was inspired by a cool one that my dear friend Lorri Heiling sent to me.

stamp set:  'Farmhouse Christmas', Peaceful Poinsettia' & 'Itty Bitty Greetings
card stock:  Real Red, Whisper White
designer paper:  Wood Textures DSP (for the fence)
ink:  Black Memento
Stampin' Blends:  Dark Real Red, Light & Dark Old Olive, Light Smoky Slate, Light Basic Black, Dark Daffodil Delight
other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Detailed Deer Thinlits Die, Farmhouse Fraemlits Dies, Detailed Poinsettia Thinlites Die, Standard Platform, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Classic Label Punch, Multipurpose Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Yesterday was a long day!!  I didn't hardly get any sleep on Saturday night before we headed to the airport at 4:15 a.m.  Thankfully our flight was on time & we got home safely!  I then spent my afternoon helping Deke outside with the hogs.  I got my suitcases unpacked & some laundry done before I had to call it a night.

This morning we are up early to chore & get things done before the kids get here.  We are all then going to the Veteran's program at school to see the boys.  Brayden is bringing my uncle Jerry & the twins are bringing my step dad Dick.  Tonight when everyone goes home I'll be working on catching up emails, mail & stampin' things.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!
