Yesterday was a busy day with kids, the twins football game, delivering some stamps, getting groceries, stamping, etc...

Deke made it to Des Moines to pick up Sheryl & John.  Thankfully they had a good flight from Pennsylvania to Iowa.  It was great to see them a few minutes when they got to Nathan & Sarah's.  I told Deke last night when we got home that I think Aunt Susie needs to make John breaded tenderloins for supper tonight!  So we'll see what he says when I ask him if that sounds good or not!

We had a short night.  We are up at 5:00 this morning to mark, sort & load a semi of hogs.  I'll then head to Manda's to get the boys, take the twins to school (they have a field trip today)!  And then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  Tonight I'll be a busy bee stamping!!

I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

Happy Halloween!

Last night I made this quick card with spiders!!!  The Toil & Trouble DSP is so cute with lots of different colors & images in it!!  I haven't had time to play with any of it, but I will be creating Halloween cards next week for my upcoming Annual Halloween Treats Classes.

These spiders were in about a 1" strip across this DSP.  So I just cut out that 1" strip, cut it into 3 pieces that measured 1x4" & layered them onto a piece of Basic Black card stock.

CHECK OUT the CUTE little Spider Trinket that I have hanging from the ribbon.

The new Black Glittered Organdy ribbon is pretty cool too!

stamp set:  'Spooky Sweets'
card stock:  Mango Melody, Basic Black, Whisper White
designer paper:  Toil & Trouble

Nathan & Sarah are both gone for their jobs, so we have had their kids- day & night.  Last night we went to Brayden's football game, then home to take my car to the shop for repairs, ate a late supper & got everyone ready for bed.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & will stay here with Masen & Ainslee, while I go to the Seeley's.  I'll take the twins to school & then be home to stay with the 3 little ones here all day.  Deke is then headed to his office at the courthouse for the morning.

Tonight we are going to the twins have a football game.  And then I'm headed to Osky to deliver some stamps & pick up some things for my weekend retreat I'm having for my Iowa Inkers team.

After the game, Deke is going to Des Moines tonight to pick up our sister-in-law Sheryl & nephew John, as they are home for our nephew Jordan's wedding that is this weekend too.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

A "Pop Through'" leaf card, using 'Falling For Leaves'!

Oh I love it!!!  Check out this fun fold card that I'm share here today.

This is another one of the cards that everyone joining me at my September monthly classes made with me this week!  It is a fun "Pop Through" card.  And I used the awesome new fall stamp set called- 'Falling for Leaves' that is on page 45 in the Holiday Catalog.

I made a dragonfly "Pop Through" card last April at my Spring Fling!
You can SEE THAT CARD BY CLICKING HERE!
Using the Classic Label Punch I made a 'window' in the front of the card for the leaf to pop through.  Look at it as I'm opening it up.  It is pretty neat huh!
This is what it looks like when it is opened all of the way up!  The leaf shows on the front side for the car- BUT it is actually attached to the inside of the card.  You can use Tear & Tape or mini dimensionals to attach the leaf.  I tried both of them at my class & I decided that the Tear & Tape actually worked the best in my opinion!
It is hard to see in the photo of this card, but I used the Champagne Shimmer Paint & rubbing alcohol to make a mist & I sprayed it on the front of the entire card.  It just glimmers!  And is oh so pretty!

stamp set:  'Falling for Leaves' & 'Artisan Textures'
card stock:
  • Early Espresso-4 1/4 x 5 1/2"- for card base; 3 3/4 x 1" to layer words onto
  • Crushed Curry- 8 x 4 1/2"- score at 4" & fold in half; 3 3/4" strip- to stamp leaf onto & cut out with framelit
  • Crumb Cake- 3 1/2 x 3/4"- to stamp words onto
  • Very Vanilla- 3 3/4 x 2"- to stamp words on the inside of the card
designer paper:
  • Tranquil Textures DSP- 4 x 3"
  • Country Lane DSP- 4 x 1/2" & 4 x 1/2"- to put along the bottom & top edge of the Early Espresso base card
ink:  Early Espressoother:  Natures' Twine (Crumb Cake), Classic Label Punch, Champagne Shimmer Paint, Frosted & Clear Epoxy Droplets, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

WOW!!  What a whirl wind of a weekend!!!  It was full of LOTS & LOTS of stamp classes & me sharing some cute cards with lots of friends!

Yesterday was a great day of stamping!  I loved being able to share with everyone that joined me!  It was a great day!  Dixie, Diane & Kathy were great hostesses with yummy treats & they were great helpers to Ruth & me!  And I was super excited to get to meet a great line customer of mine from Virginia.  Her cousin has stamped with me for years in my Hiawatha group.  She connected the 2 of us via long distance, a few years ago.  Even though she lives in Virginia, we chat often by phone, text & emails.  She was in Iowa visiting her cousin this week & they both came to my stamp class yesterday!!  It was forsure a highlight of my day getting to meet her in person after all of this time.  What a special blessing stamping is in my life, as it has connected me with so many dear friends from near & far over the years.

Last night when I got home, Deke was up to Nathan & Sarah's working on their driveway......so I went up to see everyone.  We stayed & ate a yummy steak supper with them & visited.  When I got home, I got my car unloaded, answered a few emails & called it a night!  I was just beat!

This morning we are up early.  I need to get stamp stuff from my weekend of stamping put away, so that everything is back in order for the kids to be here today!  Deke is off to chore & he'll head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'm off to Manda's soon to get the boys, take the twins to school & spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The twins will ride the bus here after school & then when everyone goes home I'll spend my night working on stamping stuff!!

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

Pumpkins from 'Pleasant Pheasants'

Today is a simple Sunday with a quick card that I made last night for today's post!!  Fall is my theme for my September monthly classes, so I decided to use this cute stamp from the 'Pleasant Pheasants' stamp set today.

NOTE:  I used Crumb Cake card stock & the Corrugated Embossing Folder for the background of this card.  I sprayed the entire card with Champagne Shimmer spray & so the photo had a glare & makes it look like I used striped DSP, although I did not.

card stock:
  • Early Espresso-  5 1/2 x 8 1/2- score at 4 1/4" & fold for card base; 1 7/8" x 3/4"; 3 1/4 x 2 1/4"

Yesterday we were on the go 100 mph all day!  We started out at 4:30 a.m. selling 2 loads of hogs, then went to the 10:30 Keswick Parade, back home at 11:30 to stamp with friends & then had my monthly afternoon stamp class.  I then burnt the midnight oil cutting card stock, packing up & getting ready for today's 2 stamp classes.

I'm off to load the car & head out to Hiawatha for the day!  I have a morning stamp class & an afternoon stamp class there.  Dixie, Diane & Kathy are my hostesses today!  We have some new friends joining us!  AND I'm super excited to share some great fall cards with everyone!

A fall 'Winter Woods' card!

This is a great fall card using the 'Winter Woods' bundle!!  I stamped the trees using Soft Suede Ink & then used my sponge daubers with Pumpkin Pie & Old Olive ink to lightly tap over the trees.  I think this turned out really pretty!  I know I played with lots of different ways & lots of different color combinations before I did this one- which I really like the way it turned out!
This is a fun fold/latch card.
The left side opens up & then the right side flips open too.

Notice the little circle that I have in the lower right corner for a 'latch'.  I have it popped up with 2 dimensionals (on the right hand back side).
This would make a great guy card too!

card stock:
  • Mossy Meadow- 5 1/2 x 3 1/2- score at 4 1/2"- for the left side of the card; 8 3/4 x 4 1/4"- core at 5 1/2" for the right side of the card (attach DSP to this flap); 3 3/4 x 1/2"- use Paper Snips & make curves for grass; 2" strip to punch out 1 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch

'Wishing You Well'

I need to create a card last night for my blog post today.  I've have been wanting to use this wreath stamp.  I had a bunch of scrap pieces laying on my table & decided to play & see what I could come up with.  I like it alot!!

Look closely at the wreath.  I repeatedly stamped the wreath over & over in almost the same spot to make it fuller.
I really like this DSP!  The Night of Navy accent line in it is really pretty!  So I added the Night of Navy bow & words to the wreath too, to pull out some more of the Night of Navy.

stamp sets:  'Wishing You Well' & 'Itty Bitty Greetings'
card stock:
  • Old Olive-5 1/2 x 8 1/2- score at 4 1/4"- fold in half for card base; 3x3"; 5 1/2 x 1"
  • Night of Navy- 4x4"; 3 1/4 x 3 1/4"; 5 1/2 x 1/2"
  • Whisper White- 2 3/4 x 3 3/4- to stamp wreath onto; 4 x 5 1/4- for inside of card' 2" strip to stamp bow onto & fussy cut out with Paper Snips; 1/2 x 1 1/4"- stamp words onto & flag end with your Paper Snips
designer paper:
  • Under the Mistletoe DSP- 3 3/4 x 3 3/4"
inks:  Old Olive & Night of Navy
other:  Basic Pearls, Paper Snips, Dimensionals, Glue Dots,  Champagne Shimmer Paint, rubbing alcohol

Can you see the shimmer that I added to the card?
How did I do it?
  • Stampin' Spritzer
  • Champagne Shimmer Paint- 5-8 drops (approx. 1/8 teaspoon)
  • Fill Spritzer about 85%-90% full of Rubbing Alcohol- leaving room so that you can shake & mix the Shimmer Paint, as it settles to the bottom.
  • Hold the Spritzer about 6-8" away from your card & spray!
  • Shake it up each time before you use it.
  • If you have any questions- comment here & I'll answer your questions!

  • Crushed Curry- 4 1/4 x 11"- for card base- score at 5 1/2" & fold in half
  • Cajun Craze- 2 3/4 x 4"
  • Whisper White- 4 x 5 1/4"- for words on the inside of your card; 1" strip to stamp your words onto & punch out with the Classic Label Punch; 2" strip- to stamp bow onto & fussy cut out using your Paper Snips; 3 1/4 x 2 1/2"- to stamp your wheat onto

  • Country Lane DSP-  5 1/2 x 2- use your Triple Banner Punch to flag one end
ink:  Crushed Curry & Cajun Crazeother:  Triple Banner Punch, Classic Label Punch, Paper Snips, Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

How did I do the corners?
  • I stamped the wheat image onto a piece of 3 1/4 x 2 1/2" Whisper White card stock.
  • I took my Everyday Label Punch & sniped the corners.
  •  This is the photo on how to line it up.  I punched all 4 corner, doing it like this.
  • And this is what all 4 corners looked like when I got them done.
  • It just gives it a fun look that I thought looked great with the style of card.
  • PLUS it gives you another way to use your Everyday Label punch!
If you CLICK HERE you can see another way to use your Everyday Label punch & do an inverted rounded corner.

Yesterday was a busy day the kids.  Last night we went to the twins football game.  Brody & Drake both scored touch downs.  After their game we went uptown to eat a quick supper at the Copper Lantern together.  And then I burnt the midnight oil working on stamping stuff.

This morning we are up early.  Deke is off to chore & then plans to spend the day with his friend Bill, helping do a driveway at Nathan's house.  I'm off to Manda's to take the twins to school & will then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The 3 big ones will be here after school.  Tonight I have LOTS & LOTS of stamping stuff to get done when the kids go home.

Deke's mom got home from the hospital last night.  I'm not sure she was ready to come home.  Guess we'll see.

Check out the beautiful Joyous Noel Special DSP.  It has a cooper accent that just makes it so classy!  The back side of this DSP is all the Tranquil Tide in color with leaves on it- so you could just flip it over & it would make the perfect guy card too!  I know we have several hunters in our family & all of them would just love a card like this for their birthday!

'Farmhouse Christmas' Truck!

Ok- so you all know that I love fall!!  Look closely at this truck!!  I made it into a fall card!  Check out the back of this truck.  It is suppose to have a Christmas tree in it.  But I took my paper snips, cut off the tip of the tree & colored it orange to make it look like a truck full of leaves instead!

I think this set-  'Farmhouse Christmas'  it another great one in the Holiday Catalog!  It is a totally me set that I know I can use for many different occasions.   And it is even more amazing since it has coordinating framelits to go with it!!  Woo Hoo!

I also made a card for Steve's birthday using this stamp set.  You can check out his black truck card by CLICKING HERE!!!  It is pretty cute too!
I colored the truck using my Stampin' Blends!  This old truck reminds me of Deke's Uncle Ben's old red Dodge that he restored, years ago.  The wheels are colored with the NEW Light Black Stampin' Blend!!!  It is great!!!  I'm thrilled that we now have so many colors of Stampin' Blends!

'Country Home'- a fun z fold!

I LOVE this stamp set called 'Country Home' & is so on trend with the Farm House decor that is everywhere!  It is the perfect set for so many occasions!!
It is a fun z fold card.  Here is what it looks like when it is opened up.

You can't tell by the picture, but I added the Wink of Stella over the cotton!!  It just give an extra little glimmer to the cotton that love!
Here is what it looks like when it is standing up.

Are you wondering how I stamped the flowers to make them look like they are sitting down inside the vase?  I used my Stamparatus!!!  I had the pitcher on one of the doors & the flowers on the other door!  SOOOO EASY!
Check out the amazing Tin Tiled Embossing folder that I added along the edge here.  I embossed a 5 1/4 x 2" piece of our new Galvanized Metallic paper!  Oh it is gorgeous!!!
Behind the ribbon I have a new Galvanized Clip that I slid onto the edge of my card stock & then tied a twine ribbon onto it.

So what do you think?

Oh......did you notice how I cut out around only 1/2 of the pitcher of flowers?  I just used my paper snips to do this.  It wasn't hard at all.  It is just an awesome way to add that little special touch to the card & show off more of the beautiful DSP!

stamp set:  'Country Home'
card stock:
  • Smoky Slate- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2- card base- score at 2 1/8 & 4 1/4"
  • Galvanized Metallic paper- 2 x 5 1/4- use the Tin Tile Embossing Folder

'Buffalo Check' combined with 'Many Blessings'!

This is one of the cards for my September monthly classes. I used the 'Many Blessings' stamp set!!
I combined it with the new 'Buffalo Check' background stamp, which I just love!  Doesn't it look super cute with these daisies!  It is sooo fallish!!!  Yeah- my favorite time of year!  I'm just lovin' all of the fun new things for fall in the new Holiday Catalog.
And check out the NEW Corrugated Embossing Folder!!  It is awesome too!!!
stamp sets:  'Buffalo Check' & 'Many Blessings'
card stock:
  • Thick Very Vanilla- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2" - card base- score at 4 1/4" & fold in half
  • Basic Black- 2 3/4" Strip- to punch out Starburst Punc; 5 1/4 x 4"- card layer
  • Crumb Cake- 3 3/4 x 1"- stamp words onto the left edge of this; 4 1/4 x 2 1/4"- embossing with Corrugated Embossing Folder, 3 3/4 x 5"- stamp the 'Buffalo Check' background stamp onto this
  • Very Vanilla- 2 1/4" strip- to stamp flowers/vase onto, color & punch out using the 1 3/4" Circle Punch, 4 x 5 1/4"- stamp words onto for inside greeting
ink:  Black Memento
Stampin' Blends:  Light Old Olive, Light & Dark Crumb Cake, Dark Cajun Craze, Light & Dark Daffodil Delight
other:  Big Shot, Standard Platform, Corrugated Embossing folder, 1 3/4" Circle Punch Starburst Punch, Black Twine, dimensionals, glue dots. Wink of Stella

A TIP ABOUT USING THE CORRUGATED EMBOSSING FOLDER:
When using the Corrugated Embossing folder I found that running it through so that the ripples go horizontally works the best.  If you run it through the other way it puts too much pressure on the ripples & they crack & break the card stock.  If you run it through your Big Shot horizontally & it cracks & breaks the ripples then add a piece of vellum card stock over the top of your card stock (inside your embossing folder).  This helps keep the paper from cracking!

I have my September monthly class today with my N. Liberty group!!  Jenny is our hostess!  I can't wait to see everyone, share & stamp!!
I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!!
Happy Stamping!

A fall 'Winter Woods' card doing the thumping technique!

Here is a monochromatic fall card.  I did the thumping technique here to add color to the trees.

How did I do the Thumping technique?
  • Inked the tree stamp in my Soft Suede Ink
  • Stamped off the first time onto my grid paper.
  • Then took my Garden Green & Soft Suede markers & thumped them directly onto the tree stamp.
  • I breathed onto my stamp to remoisten it.
  • I then stamped it onto my Very Vanilla card stock.

This morning I'm up early to stamp!  I'll be leaving later this morning to go with Deke to walk in the Delta Parade for his Board of Supervisors Campaign.  AND will then be burning the midnight oil again stamping!

Brody received a good report from Dr. Menezes today! He currently has no concerns and wants us back in a year for a follow-up visit.
He recommended absolutely no contact sports- we aren’t surprised & understand playing football or wrestling is not worth the risk. Brody took the news just fine; he’s excited to play baseball & for Brayden to teach him a thing or two about basketball.
How blessed we are!!!

'Peaceful Noel' with Champagne Shimmer Paint!

Ohhhhhh.......LOOK at this SHIMMER!  I am super EXCITED that we have Champagne Shimmer Paint available again as a product.  It is in the Holiday Catalog on page 38.  Be sure you add it to your wish list.  It is a must have for the upcoming holiday projects that you'll be creating!  We had this Champagne Shimmer paint several years ago & I just LOVED it!!!  It is a super easy way to add sparkle to any projects!!
This Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon is awesome!!!  It is very soft & easy to tie.  It is Merry Merlot on one side & it is Copper on the other side!!  So cool!!  The edge of it shows a little bit of Copper on both sides of the ribbon.

Here are the supplies & the measurements so you can make this card.

It is crazy here....sick kids (Ainslee & Trey), kids have been here long days, Deke's mom went back to the ER & admitted back into the hospital again last night......it is just one of those weeks! Maybe today will be the day to break our unlucky week!  I sure hope so!

It was late when Deke got home from the hospital, so it was a short night last night here.  As we are up at 5 this morning to mark, sort & load a semi of hogs again.  I'll then go to town to Manda's, take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.

Brody has his 6 month check up later today with Neuro in Iowa City, seeing Dr. Menezes.  He'll have a CT scan first & then see the dr.  Please say a prayer for him that all is good!  He had his yearly eye exam yesterday & that went great!  The eye dr said that things have healed great  & he has no concerns at all.  That was sure super news to hear!!!  Earlier this week he saw his pediatrician & she too thought that he was doing great!

Tonight when the kids go home I will be burning the midnight oil stamping!
Gotta run.....
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!
