Timeless Tulip

It is simple Saturday.......and I'm sharing a beautiful card, that is made easily- because it uses a cool punch!!

I used the 'Timeless Tulip' stamp set & coordinating Tulip Builder Punch.  If you purchase the 2 of these together as a bundle, you save 10%.

You all know that I'm a punch girl!!  So I love this bundle!  I also love the color combination of purple & green together.  So this is a totally Susie card!

Look at the detail in this tulip.  This stamp set is a photopolymer stamp & it is a dis'ink'tive stamp.  Which means it is lots of detail, with light & dark shading- all in the stamp design!  How cool!  This is a patent design of Stampin' Up!
stamp set:  'Timeless Tulips'
card stock:
  • Highland Heather- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4"- fold in half for card base; 4 x 2 1/2"

Sailing Home

Humm......guess I must have been in the mood to make guy cards!!

But I often hear my customers say that guy cards are hard to design and that they never have enough guy cards.  So at my classes each month, I try to share at least one guy card.

I made this guy card a few weeks ago.......and I thought it turned out pretty neat!  I used the  'Sailing Home' stamp set & coordinating Come Sail Away DSP!

How did I make the sun?  I just used my So Saffron ink pad & a sponge dauber.  Adding the birds flying in the air, the water ripples, the birds & the sun to this card, sure added a lot of dimension & a realistic look.

What do you think?  I know that Father's Day is a couple of months away yet, but this would make a great card for that occasion.  And it would make a great guy birthday card too!
stamp sets:  'Sailing Home'; 'Best Catch' (words); 'Artisan Textures'- for the water
card stock:
  • Night of Navy-5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4"- fold in half for card base; 1 3/4" strip- punch out Scalloped Circle; 3 x 3 1/2"
  • Soft Suede- 3 1/4 x 3 3/4"; 3/4 x 5 1/2"
  • Whisper White- 2 3/4 x 3 1/4"- stamp sail boats, water & birds onto this; 1 1/2" strip- stamp words onto & punch out with 1" Circle Punch; 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card

inks:  Night of Navy & So Saffron
Stampin' Blends:  Light Soft Suede
other:  1" Circle Punch; 1 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch; Sponge Dauber; Dimensionals

I hope you have a great Thursday!!

Mountain Air

Do you need a guy card!!!  This one is clean, simple & cute!  I think it is a great guy card!

I used the trees from the 'Mountain Air' stamp set.  Using my Mossy Meadow ink pad, I stamped the 2 lower trees first & then didn't re-ink my stamp, but "shadow" stamped the trees again (yes- the shorter tree was actually stamped over the darker taller tree).  Doing this shadow stamping, give you a lighter shade for the trees.

Can you believe that this designer paper is from the Magnolia Lane DSP?  Yup- this DSP is so versatile!  That is very neat huh!
Yesterday morning we woke up to about 3" of snow on the ground!  I was thinking- what the heck!  In mid April, we sure don't need snow.  Thankfully it was all melted by shortly after lunch.

But with yesterdays snow fall- it got me to thinking as I was posting this card.  I could have added some snow flakes onto these trees & in the air too.  This card would also make an awesome winter scene too!

stamp sets:
  • 'Darling Label Punch Box' (words)- page 94 Annual Catalog
  • 'Mountain Air' (trees)- page 52 Mini Catalog
card stock:
  • Crumb Cake-  5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4"- fold in half for card base; 2 1/4 x 3 1/4"
  • Mossy Meadow- 3 x 4"; 1 3/4" strip- cut out  1 1/2" circle
  • Whisper White- 2 x 3"- stamp trees onto; 1 3/4" strip- stamp words onto & cut out  1 1/4" circle; 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card
designer paper:  Magnolia Lane DSP- 5 3/4 x 2"-flag end with Triple Banner Punch; 4 x 1"
ink:  Mossy Meadow
other:  Triple Banner Punch; Big Shot, Magnetic Platform; Layering Circles Dies- 1 1/2" Circle & 1 1/4" Circle; dimensionals

I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

So Sentimental

This is one of the neatest bundles in the Mini Catalog!  It is on page 20.  Check it out!  It is called- 'So Sentimental' Bundle.......which includes an awesome word stamp set & an amazing die set that coordinates with it!

The words & the die that I used on this card, are both products included in this 'So Sentimental' Bundle!  WOW huh!

On one of my demonstrator FB pages, Stampin' Up! did a color challenge!  Here are the 3 colors that they posted & challenged us to create with.
Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Pumpkin Pie

So I can honestly say......
  • I wouldn't probably have ever put these 3 colors together.
  • I can honestly say that I whipped this card up in a matter of minutes.
  • I can honestly say that I love the way it turned out!
  • And I can honestly say I'm so glad that someone challenged me to use something that is totally out of my normal & my comfort zone.
So what do you think of it?  I think it is a totally Susie card (other than the colors)!!

Did you notice the center of my Daisy?  Yup.......I actually used one medium pearl in the center of it & 8 little pearls around it!  But it is soooo pretty!  Especially in person!

When I got the challenge, I grabbed the 3 colors of card stock from my shelf & my container of 6x6 Designer Paper.  The Night of Navy ink pad, Whisper White card stock, stamp set, die, pearls, ribbon, Daisy Punch & Leaf Punch- were all items laying on my counter.....so they are what I used!

NOTE:  Why did I have these products laying out on my counter?  Well some of them I had just used for the card I posted on yesterdays blog post!  You can check it out by CLICKING HERE!

 Lamb, Chick or Bunny
These are the 3 animal images that are in this 'Welcome Easter' stamp set!
They are all cute aren't they!

The congratulations words come from the 'Special Celebration' stamp set that is on page 22 in the Annual Catalog.

Happy Easter Blessing!

Happy Easter!!
Sending many blessings to each of you on this blessed Easter day!

It is such a different Easter than normal with this distancing.
It is sad that we can't be with our church families & families,
to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus from the tomb.
Thank goodness for technology, that we can listen to church services on the radio, tv or face book!
stamp set:  'Easter Promise'
card stock:
  • Thick Whisper White- 4 1/4 x 11"- score at 5 1/2"- fold in half for card base
  • Gorgeous Grape- 1 1/2" strip- die cut narrow stitched Rectangle; 4 1/4'- die cut large Stitched Rectangel
  • Whisper White- 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside of card; 2 3/4" strip- stamp words onto & die cut out with the Stitched Oval Die; 1 1/2" strip- stamp cross onto 2 different times.  Die cut one out & layer over the top of the other cross.  Then fussy cut out with your scissors.
designer paper:  Best Dressed 6x6 DSP- 3 1/4" strip- die cut with Stitched Rectangle
ink:  Gorgeous Grape
other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Cross of Hope Dies, Stitched Rectangle Dies; Stitched Shapes- large oval; Basic Pearl, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals, Polka Dot Tulle Ribbon
NOTE:  Check out the great 'Cross of Hope' Dies on page 192 in the Annual Catalog!

How did I do it?
Look at what I did with the stitched rectangle.....I die cut it out!
And then I cut it in half with my scissors.  Adhered it to the center of the card, wrapped ribbon around it and then adhered the Stitched Oval 'Happy Easter' words over it.
Look at the cross.  It has lots of layers to it!
  • I stamped the cross & die cut it out.  This die cuts these two images at one time!
  • I then stamped the cross again & adhered these 2 die cut images over the top of it.
  • See what it looks like when I got it layered!  I adhered the outside cross die with snail adhesives, directly onto the stamped cross.  I then cut mini dimensionals in half & attached them to the center of the stamped cross.
  • I then took my scissors & fussy cut out around the cross/vine/leaves image.
  • And then used mini dimensionals on the back side of the cross & stuck it onto the card front- in the upper right corner of the Happy Easter wording.
Have a SPECIAL Sunday!
Blessings-
SUSIE
