Abstract Impressions

I needed a quick card to whip up last week & this is what I came up with.  I love the way it turned out!  This 'Abstract Impressions' stamp set is so versatile!  It is an easy stamp to use!  It has lots of possibilities & I just love it!

I made this card into a fun z fold card.  And check out the speckles of Mossy Meadow color on the front of the card.  I made them using my Stampin' Write Marker.  I shared how to do the 'flicking' with a marker on this blog post. Check it out by clicking HERE!
This is what the z fold looks like when it is opened up.
If you look closely you can see that I did some shadow stamping, but stamping one of the large flowers that had a solid image on it- around all of the edges on this Merry Merlot, using the Merry Merlot ink pad.

To get the lighter & darker shades of the colors here I only used 2 ink pads.  On the more solid stamp images I stamped them onto my grid paper first & then stamped them onto my Whisper White card stock.  I did this on both the flowers & the leaves!

stamp set:  'Abstract Impressions'
card stock:
  • Mossy Meadow- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"; 3 3/4 x 1 1/4"
  • Merry Merlot- 5 x 3 3/4"
  • Whisper White- 4 1/2 x 3 1/4" (x2- one for the inside of the card & one for the outside of the card); 4 1/4 x 1
ink:  Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow
Stampin' Write Marker:  Mossy Meadow
other:  5/8" White Polka Dot Tulle- 3", Banner Triple Punch, Glue Dot, Dimensionals

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  Last night when they went home I worked on farm bookwork & did a little stamping.

Deke is up early to chore & head to a meeting.  I'm up early to walk.  As my mom didn't end up feeling well yesterday morning, so we didn't make it to Fairfield- that is on our agenda to get done this moring.  I'm not sure yet if I have any kids or not today- if so they'll go with us.  Tonight I'll be spending my night cutting card stock for my classes I have this weekend.

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

This is a card that I created for a class in my appreciation for everyone coming to stamp with me!  As a couple of weeks ago I celebrated my 17th Anniversary as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  It is because of my customers that I've been able to stamp & share with all of them over the years!  My heart is warmed just thinking of each of them & how they have touched my heart by stamping with me & letting me share my love of stamping with them!

So what do you think?  Isn't this little bee cute!!  I choose it as I often comment that I'm a busy bee!!   This is just a super cute new a la carte stamp set!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Today is a day to celebrate!!!!  Sending you all wishes for a very special Happy 4th of July!!!  I hope it is a fun & safe day for everyone everywhere!!!!

Check out this cute card I whipped up real quick last night before I went to bed.  I used one of my new favorite stamp sets- 'Dandelion Wishes'!!  Don't you think it looks like fireworks???  I thought it turned out pretty cute!

How did I color them?

  • To get the fireworks to be different colors I used my sponge dauber & tapped it into the ink.
  • I then tapped the inked sponge daubers directly onto the stamp.
  • I stamped it onto my Whisper White card stock.
  • After I stamped it, I did used my Stampin' Write Markers to touch up a few spots where the colors over lap.
  • I then added the Wink of Stella over the tips of the fireworks for some added sparkle!
  • And finished them off with a Clear Rhinestone in the middle of each firework!
I used some of my NEW 2018-2020 In Color products for it too!

stamp sets:  'Dandelion Wishes' & 'Calligraphy Essentials'
card stock:
  • Lovely Lipstick- 4 x 1 3/4"; 3 1/4 x 3 3/4"
  • Blueberry Bushel- 4 1/4 x 11"; 3 3/4 x 1 1/2"
  • Whisper White- 3 x 3"; 3 1/2 x 1 1/4"
designer paper:
  • 2018-2020 In Color 6x6 DSP (Blueberry Bushel)- 5 1/2 x 2"
ink:  Blueberry Bushel & Lovely Lipstick
Stampin' Write Markers:  2018-2020 Collection- Lovely Lipstick & Blueberry  Bushel
other:  1/8" Grosgrain Ribbon (Lovely Lipstick), Basic Rhinestones, Clear Wink of Stella, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Yesterday morning I took my mom to Fairfield.  The place we needed to go was closed due to the 4th of July.......so we will go down again on Thursday!  It was a wasted 2 hour drive down & back- but I had a nice time visiting with my mom.  We don't get to ever spent too much time together alone.

Then yesterday afternoon I worked on bookwork.  And last night we all went into Sigourney to watch all 5 boys in the Kids Pedal Tractor Pull.  The boys then played in the bouncy houses for awhile.  And after that we went to Nathan & Sarah's house for brauts on the grill, snow cones & a pretty fireworks display that Steve set off for us!

This morning we are up early to chore & head to Sigourney for their 10:00 parade.  We'll then stop by my sister Barbie's for a few minutes, go eat our lunch in the park & then head to What Cheer for their 2:00 parade.  Manda ordered a bunch of candy for me......so we have alot of it to throw out!  We'll all be wearing our Wood for Supervisor shirts too.  As I bought new ones for all 12 of us.

Wishing you all a safe & fun 4th of July today!!
Happy Stamping!

'Rooted in Nature'

Here is a beautiful, yet simple card!!  It was one of the shoe box swaps that I provided for my team meeting that I had at our house last Saturday!!

I copied this card from my downline Rory, whom now lives in the upper part of the state of New York. She is an amazing stamper & sent a card like this to me last week.  I just loved it & had to make it!  She said that she used her new favorite color- Mango Melody when creating this card!  I agree with her......it is one of my new favorite colors too!!  And this 'Rooted in Nature' is one of new favorite stamp sets too!

It is so easy & fun to make this card!  And the end results are this amazing sunset!
stamp set:  'Rooted in Nature'
card stock:  Mango Melody, Whisper White
inks:  Rich Razzleberry, Highland Heather, Mango Melody & Black Memento
other:  Blackberry Bliss from the Nature's Twine, Glue Dot, sponge, post-it-notes

How do you do it?
  • Using post-it- notes- I put them along both edges on the front of this card- making a line approx. 1 3/4" wide.
  • Using a sponge- I inked it in Rich Razzleberry & rubbed it in circular motion, across the top 1/3 of the space.
  • I then inked another sponge & rubbed Highland Heather in circular motion across the middle 1/3 of the space.
  • I then inked another sponge & rubbed Mango Melody in circlular motion across the bottom of 1/3 of the space.
  • Then using my Black Memento ink pad I stamped the tree & then the words.
NOTE:  You do want to blend your inks at the line where you switch colors, so that doesn't show as a definite line.

++++++++++
Yesterday I got up early & walked & then was gone most of the day.  One of our friends- Jenny & her daughter Maci were visiting Manda & the boys, so I went to town to see all of them for while.  I then went to Osky to deposit a hog check, get a few groceries, make a quick stop at Walmart & go to my eye dr to get my glasses fixed & adjusted.

The Seeley family came out for awhile last night & set off some fireworks!  I placed orders & worked on stamping stuff & then called it a night.

I'm up early to walk & will then be headed out for the morning.  My mom is coming down & we are going to Fairfield to get a few things done.  When I get home I'll work on stamping stuff for awhile.  And then tonight we are going to Sigourney to the 4th of July festivities.  The boys are doing the Petal Tractor Pull & some other things too!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

A Stained Glass Window!

This is a beautiful stained glass window!!  This is one of the 12 different images in the Graceful Glass 6x6 Vellum on page 188.  It is soooo easy to color this vellum.  It is a black raised embossing on the one side, so just flip it over & color it on the back side. Then add it to a piece of Whisper White card stock.

I did this card at my class this past weekend.  It was amazing to see the beautiful cards that everyone made, as none of their colors were the same.  I had my whole set of  Stampin' Blends out & they could choose any of them.

NOTE:  Stampin' Blends are just one of the many ways you could color this vellum.  You could also use your Stampin' Write Markers too!
Isn't it just a gorgeous card!!  It does look just like a real stained glass window doesn't it!

stamp set:  'Painted Glass'
card stock:  Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Whisper White, Vellum
vellum:  Graceful Glass 6x6
Stampin Blends: many different colors!
ink:  Black Stazon
other:  1/4" Velvet ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Yesterday was another great day of stamping with everyone that joined us!!!  We had a wonderful group & had alot of fun together.

When I got home last night I watched a movie with Deke & went to bed early!

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up early to walk & then spend my day catching up & running errands.  The Wood family is gone for a few days camping, so I don't have any kids today.  When I run to town after bit I'll stop to see Manda, the boys & a family friend, Jenny & her little girl.

Tonight I'll be stamping!!!!!
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

I had an all day team meeting at our home yesterday.  It was wonderful to spend our day together stamping & sharing!  Everyone went home with lots of ideas!!  And bless my downline Dawn for making almost all of the shoe box swaps for me so that I could play hostess!

I'm off this morning for my monthly class in N. Liberty with my group there.  I can't believe it that is July already.  I am looking forward to seeing all of them.  Deb is our hostess this month!

'Abstract Impressions'

So here is a pretty card using the 'Abstract Impressions' stamp set.  I used a couple of my new favorite colors!  I've always been a purple & green (combo) fan.  So I'm thrilled to have these two new colors added to our collection to use.

Whenever I use purple & greens (in the lighter shades together) I always think of my grandma.  Her kitchen was filled with violets in the window seals & she had some purple/green dresses.

I got 2 shades of these two colors by stamping off with the fuller images & then going full strength ink with the more outlined images.  This is a great way to get some different color combinations!
stamp set:  'Abstract Impressions'
card stock:
  • Highland Heather-5 1/2 x 8 1/2"
  • Mint Macaron-3 1/4 x 2 3/4"; 4 x 1"
  • Whisper White-  2 1/4 x 2 1/4"
designer paper:  Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Specialty DSP
ink:  Mint Macaron & Highland Heather
other:  Nature's Twine (Mint Macaron), Share What You Love Pearls, Dimensionals, Glute Dots

Yesterday was a wild day.  I was on the go 100 mph all day.  I worked on creating & cutting card stock all day.  And then last night Manda & I went to a fund raiser in Sigourney for a couple of hours together.  We painted barn quilts.  They both turned out cute!  It was fun.....just hard for me sitting their painting- thinking I had a zillion things to get done before I could go to bed......but I'm glad we went & everything will end up getting done sooner or later.

This morning I'm up early to finishing getting things ready for my team meeting!  I have several of my girls joining me today to stamp & share!!  I am looking forward to seeing everyone & catching up!

Deke is off to chore & work on the farm all day.  It is going to be a super hot day outside today- so dreading the hot temps for people & especially for the animals.  Later this afternoon Deke is headed to Harper to judge a cook off at Saint Peter & Paul's Catholic Church Annual Celebration.  I had hoped to go down with him- but when my team leaves today, I"ll be spending my night cutting card stock & finishing things up for my class that I have tomorrow.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!

More 'Rooted in Nature'!

This is another clean & simple card using the 'Rooted in Nature' stamp set!!  It would make a great card for any occasion.

My friend LeeAnn Greff did a card where she stamped this tree 3 times without re-inking it.  I had done it this way with the leaves & the evergreen trees, but hadn't thought about trying it with this tree.  I sure think it turned out cute!

I used the same colors & layout here as I did on these 2 cards that I have previously posted.

Yesterday Sarah's niece & nephew ended up coming to their house, so the kids stayed home with them.  I ended up spenting my morning working on farm bookwork & then burnt the midnight oil stamping!  So far I have some cute cards for my upcoming classes I have this weekend.  I'll get photos taken of them hopefully soon & post them.

Today I will be home alone & I'll be spending my day stamping- creating & cutting.  And then tonight Manda & I are attending a fundraising event in Sigourney for a couple of hours.  When I get home from there I'll be burning the midnight oil again- getting everything all finished up & ready for my Iowa Inkers Team meeting I am having at our home all day tomorrow.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!

'Rooted in Nature'

This is probably my very favorite stamp set- 'Rooted in Nature', that is in the NEW Annual 2018-2019 Catalog.  It is so versatile & the images are just great!!

This is a card that I did at a stamp class earlier this month.  It is clean & simple, yet just great!

I stamped the leaves 3 times without re-stamping them to give them lighter & darker shades.  And this NEW Shaded Spruce color is one of my new favorites too!

You can see another card I shared a few weeks ago, with the same colors & stamp set.  It is very similar, but used a different image from this stamp set.  You can CHECK IT OUT HERE!

Yesterday was a busy day with pigs, baking, kids & racing.  Manda & her 3 boys were here for awhile yesterday morning & Susie's Hair Hut was open to give Trey a hair cut.  It was fun to see all of the boys together & they had fun.  Masen & Sarah rode in the truck/trailer with Deke to the races & met Nathan there.  I took Miss Ainslee with me.  It was hot sitting in the stands, as there wasn't any air moving.  And it was late when we got home last night.  I got the toys picked up, answered a few emails, did my blog post, got some supplies out for projects & finally called it a night.  We were both just beat.  As we didn't get much sleep the night before.

Nathan got 5th in his heat & 2nd in the Stock Car main!  He is still using his back up car- which is really for short track racing......and he struggled with the set up in his heat.  He looked better in the main, as he stated in the 10th place & finished 2nd.  His friend, Derek from Missouri won!  Hopefully the guys can find time to get the other card put back together sometime soon.

This morning I'm up early to walk & get ready to spend my day with the 2 little Wood kids.  Tonight I'll be burning the midnight oil stamping!
I hope you have a great Thursday!!

'Dandelion Wishes'

I love this new stamp set- 'Dandelion Wishes'

I created this card for a swap I'm in with my GoDiva demonstrator friends from all over the US.

I thought it turned out bright & cheery!  The new Tea Room Specialty DSP is what I choose to add with it!
This is a totally Susie card.  I love the layout, the colors, the stamp set & the font of the words!

I took my sponge dauber & some Crushed Curry ink & colored the center of the 3 Dandelions in- so that it added some extra color.

stamp set:  'Dandelion Wishes'
card stock:  Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Whisper White
designer paper:  Tea Room Specialty DSP
ink:  Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana
other:  White Twine, Paper Snips (to flag the banner), 2" Circle Punch, 1 3/4" Circle Punch, Sponge Dauber, Glitter Enamel Dots (Coastal Cabana), Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Yesterday was a long day.  We were up early & on the go.  When the kids left we went to a High School friend's moms visitation.  It was soooo good to see our friends that we rarely see any more.  We so enjoyed visiting with them & catching up on our families.  It is sad that we only see special people like them in our lives when some passes.  Deke then went to Brayden's ballgame in Williamsburg & I came home to stamp.  I burnt the midnight.  This week is just crazy!!  I have an all day team meeting this Saturday here at our home & then I have my monthly IC group on Sunday.  So I have LOTS of creating & cutting to get done.

This morning we are up early at 5 to mark, sort & sell hogs.  Deke will chore & then head to his office at the courthouse.  I'm on our church funeral committee this month, so have to hurry & make a pan of bar cookies to run to the church when I get in the house.  I'll spend my day with the 2 little Wood kids.  Trey is coming out to get his hair cut too sometime later this morning.  Tonight we will all head to the races to cheer Nathan on.  I'll head home as soon as he is done so that I can stamp!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!

'Hand Delivered' a bouquet of balloons!

Here is the birthday card that I made for Sarah!

This is SUCH a cute stamp set!!  It is a hostess set called- 'Hand Delivered'!  It has lots of different cute & stylish images in it that can be used for many different occasions.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp it!  Oh my gosh- it worked soooo cool too!!  I had the girls skirt/legs/bottom half on one clear plate & then the balloons on the other clear plate.  It was so easy to line up & make multiples of when doing it this way.

I added some flowers along the edge of it too!!  AND check out the stars!!  They are NEW!  They are called Twinkle sequins on page 197.  And they are an iridescent color.  There are also silver ones in the package of them.
I colored the balloons with my Stampin' Blends!
And I used a thin strip of a NEW DSP (Tropical Escape) along the edge!

stamp set:  'Hand Delivered'
card stock:  Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Basic Black
designer paper:  Tropical Escape
ink:  Black Memenoto
Stampin 'Blends:  Light Pool Party, Light Bermuda Bay, Light Smoky Slate, Ivory, Light & Dark Calypso Coral, ****Light Pink Pirouette (retired now)

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  When they left I went outside & helped Deke on the farm, as we had a bunch of hogs we had to sort in the big outside lot.  Thankfully Nathan & Steve helped us sort them & it actually went pretty well.

When we got in I made supper & then burnt the midnight oil working on stamping stuff.

This morning I'm up early to walk & will spend my day with the 2 Wood kids.  Tonight we have a visitation of a family friend.  And then we have a baseball game.  I'll be burning the midnight oil again stamping!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!

Yesterday I was home all day!!  It wasn't a day off....it was a day to try to catch up!!  I worked on piles of stamping bookwork & left over class boxes; I did a little stamping; I worked on farm bookwork, I worked in the yard- pulling some weeds, watering flowers, etc. & I stained some woodwork too! I made a little dent in things......but still have LOTS to get done sometime soon.
Image may contain: people sitting and outdoor
Long story short about the woodwork......  We have double sliding closet doors in our bathroom that keeps falling off the track. So we are remodeling those 2 doors- Adding 3” wood trim around front outside edges on them so that they look like barn doors. And then we bought a new barn door track to put them on. I also changed the towel racks & drawer knobs too- so that all of the hardware will be black! Now hope we find time to get it a done soon. And hope our ideas turn out like we have pictured they will.  As Deke & I are doing it ourselves!  LOL!

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up to walk & get ready to spend my day with the 2 little Wood kids.  Tonight when they go home I'm a farmer- helping Deke outside with the pigs.  When I get in from there I'll burn the midnight oil stamping!

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs-
