A fall 'Winter Woods' card doing the thumping technique!

Here is a monochromatic fall card.  I did the thumping technique here to add color to the trees.

How did I do the Thumping technique?
  • Inked the tree stamp in my Soft Suede Ink
  • Stamped off the first time onto my grid paper.
  • Then took my Garden Green & Soft Suede markers & thumped them directly onto the tree stamp.
  • I breathed onto my stamp to remoisten it.
  • I then stamped it onto my Very Vanilla card stock.

stamp set:  'Winter Woods'
card stock:
  • Soft Suede- 4x 5- score at 3 3/4" & run through the Corrugated Embossing folder; 5 1/2 x 7 1/2"- score at 4 1/4"
  • Crumb Cake-3 1/2 x 3 1/2"; 1" strip 5 1/4 x 3 1/4"
  • Very Vanilla-  5 x 3 3/4" for inside of the card; 3 1/4 x 3 1/4" to stamp trees onto
designer paper:  Nature's Poem- 5 x 3"
ink:  Soft Suede
Stampin' Write Markers:  Garden Green & Soft Suede
other:  Big Shot, Standard Platform, Corrugated Dynamic Textured Embossing Folder, Classic Label Punch, Nature's Twine (Soft Suede), Dimensionals, Glue Dots

This is a fun fold card.  Here is what it looks like opened up.

This morning I'm up early to stamp!  I'll be leaving later this morning to go with Deke to walk in the Delta Parade for his Board of Supervisors Campaign.  AND will then be burning the midnight oil again stamping!

Brody received a good report from Dr. Menezes today! He currently has no concerns and wants us back in a year for a follow-up visit.
He recommended absolutely no contact sports- we aren’t surprised & understand playing football or wrestling is not worth the risk. Brody took the news just fine; he’s excited to play baseball & for Brayden to teach him a thing or two about basketball.
How blessed we are!!!

This Merry Merlot & Copper 5/8" Reversible Ribbon is awesome!!!  It is very soft & easy to tie.  It is Merry Merlot on one side & it is Copper on the other side!!  So cool!!  The edge of it shows a little bit of Copper on both sides of the ribbon.

It is crazy here....sick kids (Ainslee & Trey), kids have been here long days, Deke's mom went back to the ER & admitted back into the hospital again last night......it is just one of those weeks! Maybe today will be the day to break our unlucky week!  I sure hope so!

It was late when Deke got home from the hospital, so it was a short night last night here.  As we are up at 5 this morning to mark, sort & load a semi of hogs again.  I'll then go to town to Manda's, take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.

Brody has his 6 month check up later today with Neuro in Iowa City, seeing Dr. Menezes.  He'll have a CT scan first & then see the dr.  Please say a prayer for him that all is good!  He had his yearly eye exam yesterday & that went great!  The eye dr said that things have healed great  & he has no concerns at all.  That was sure super news to hear!!!  Earlier this week he saw his pediatrician & she too thought that he was doing great!

Tonight when the kids go home I will be burning the midnight oil stamping!
Gotta run.....
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

Today is the day that the NEW Holiday Catalog starts!!!

'Merry Christmas to All'

WOOO HOO!!  Here is a card created with a lot of new products in the Holiday Catalog!!!  This is a card that I made for my team meeting I had last month.

I stamped the WISHING YOU words & the swirl using Real Red ink & my Stamparatus!

The Sprigs are a punch!!!  So they are sooo easy to do.

This All is Bright DSP has festive photographic images and designs in it.  I love it!
I used adhesive sheets along with my Gold Foil paper when I cut out the word Christmas......so it was easy to just peel & stick it down.

stamp set:  'Merry Christmas to All'
card stock:  Mossy Meadow, Real Red, Whisper White, Gold Foil
designer paper:  All is Bright DSP
ink:  Real Red, Mossy Meadow

Yesterday was a long day!  We started out early selling hogs & got done just in time to make it to town to get the boys.  It was nice to have the twins here too for awhile.  Since school has started I get to see them a bit in the morning & a bit after school.  We played outside for awhile yesterday afternoon.  And when the kids went home last night I worked on stamping stuff.

I'm up early this morning to walk & head to town to Manda's, as she has to leave early today.  Nathan also has an early meeting today, so he'll bring the kids here early & Deke is going to help me out & stay with them while I take the twins to school.  Tonight the twins have a football game that we'll go to.  And then I'll be burning the midnight oil again stamping!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!

A Shirt card- GO CUBS!!

Go Cubs Go!!

Our family are all big Cubs fans......even Ainslee can say 'Go Cubs'!  So for the twins (Brody & Drake's) birthday last week I made these cards for them!
How did I do it?
  • First I made a template by taking a 4 x 5 1/4" piece of card stock, folded it in half & cut along the edge to made the sleeves & then cut the scoop at the top to make the neck of the shirt.
  • Using a pencil, I lightly traced the shirt template onto a piece of Whisper White card stock that was 4 x 5 1/4".
  • Using my Paper Snips I fussy cut along the pencil lines.
  • I then drew the stripes onto the shirt, using my Blueberry Bushel Stampin' Write Marker.
  • I just used the straight edge of card stock.
  • NOTE:  Be CAREFUL to not hurry in doing this, as you can smear the lines!! The edge of your card stock gets wet from multiple lines being drawn & then the marker is not a permanent ink & it does take a few seconds to dry.
Check out the Cubs emblem I made using our stamps!

I used the 'Lined Alphabet' stamp set for the BIG C & then colored it in with my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker.  I then individually stamped the U B & S!
This one I made into a fun fold easel card!  Check out how it looks when it is opened up!

stamp sets:  'Lined Alphabet' & 'Pick A Pennant'
card stock:  Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White
ink:  Real Red
Stampin' Write Marker: Real Red & Blueberry Bushel
other:  Everyday Label Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

I stamped all day yesterday!!!  Working on the kits for everyone that ordered the 'Blended Seasons' Bundle from me.  I have them bagged & ready for everyone to get when they join me to stamp at my monthly September classes this month.  Plus I made LOTS of other cards yesterday too!  I have tons of happy mail being sent out today!  Our mail lady has a whole box full to pick up when she gets here.

We are up early this morning at 4:30 to sell hogs.  Hopefully the semi is on time so that we can get them loaded & the chores done.  Deke has a board meeting this morning & I need to get to Manda's in time to get the boys.

There is no school today, so I'll be spending my day with the 3 Seeley boys & the 2 smaller Wood kids!  Tonight when they go home I'll be stamping all night.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

'Winter Woods' Holiday Catalog Sneak Peek!

Sparkly trees with snow on them!  Yes, they are pretty!  I definitely am not ready for winter though!  Although I do love this card!

This is a fun fold easel card that I created for my Iowa Inkers team meeting that I hostessed earlier this month!

How did I do that?

To add the sparkle I-
  • used my Multipurpose Glue
  • made some little dots- randomly all over the trees
  • scooped lots of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter all over it
  • tapped off excess Glitter
  • AND then let dry for approximately 1/2 hour.
Are you wondering why the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter looks green?  It is because I stamped the trees using my Classic Shaded Spruce ink pad.  The Classic ink pads are not permanent, thus they will run when they get wet.  Since the glue made the ink wet & then the Glitter was added over it- it made that added extra "WOW" to it.
Here is what it look like when it is opened up!  It is a fun card for sure!
stamp set:  'Winter Woods'
cardstock:  Thick Whisper White, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White
designer paper: Under the Mistletoe
ink:  Shaded Spruce
other:  Linen Thread, Multipurpose Glue, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter, Everyday Label Punch, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Yesterday was an early & busy day with the kids.  I put up my birthday banner & streamers & we all sang Happy Birthday to Brody & Drake as they walked in the door early yesterday morning.  We all had breakfast together & then headed to town to take the 3 big boys to school.  Then when they got off of the bus I had the twins Wood Cake (Crispix in an angel food cake pan with M&M sprinkled on top) for all of us to enjoy!  They then had their first FB game.....Drake got a touch down.  They both played good.  After their game we picked up a couple of Casey's pizza & ate together in our city park.  The kids had fun playing!  I know I did lots of under dogs, pushing them on the swings.  It was late when we got home.  I answered emails, placed a couple of orders & called it a night.
Image may contain: 2 people, tree, sky, child, grass, outdoor and nature
Brody & Drake FB team & their coaches- Adam & their dad Steve.

  • The 'Flourish Filigree' stamp set on pg. 41 in the Holiday Catalog. (for the words)
  • The Country Lane DSP on pg. 43 in the Holiday Catalog.  (for the woodgrain strip)
How did I do the little notch in the corner?  I used my Everyday Label punch & snipped each of the 4 corners- just like I'm showing you here in this photo.
I decided when I got this card all finished that I wanted to add the Gold Metallic Pearls to each of the 4 corners.  WOW- don't they dress it up & make it so elegant!

card stock:  Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Whisper White
