Happy Veteran's Day!

BLESS all of the men & women that have served their country!
Thank you!!

A bag full of "CHRISTMAS" tags!!

This is a bag full of CHRISTMAS tags that was one of my STYC projects last month.  It was so much fun & so easy to do.  These kraft bags are in the Holiday Catalog- #135826- Petite Cafe' Gift Bags- 10 for $5.95.
Check out the tags made with the Angled Tag Topper Punch.  We also used the stamp sets- 'Cheerful Tags' & 'Trendy Trims', along with a Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad.

The guys got our corn all combined last Saturday.  On Sunday they got it mowed & racked the corn stalks & got big round bales made that we'll use for bedding this winter.  And today Deke's Uncle Joe is coming down to help him pump our 3 lagoons.  So we will soon be ready for winter. We had had big dips in the temps the past 12 hours.  And we woke up to a dusting of white SNOW all over the ground this morning.

Tonight I'm a farmer helping Deke sell hogs.  Thankfully Nathan & Steve helped us get them sorted last night.  The boys- Brayden, Brody & Drake had fun being out on the farm with us watching on the other side of the fence.  They also had a blast running between the big bales that Papa had hauled to the lot, that he needs to get put into the sheds for the winter.  It was fun listening to them laugh & play.  I wish I would have had my camera with me.  Great Papa Dave even was getting a kick out listening to them & watching them- as he was out tootling around on his 4 wheeler & stopped down to visit us.

I'm off soon to pick up the boys.  We will be home all day, but have to cook lunch & snacks to send to the field to feed the guys.  Humm....what should I make?  I baked a pan of chocolate chip bar cookies last night.  I'll probably make breaded tenderloins- as Uncle Joe likes them.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!!

More 'The Newborn King'

Here is another 'Newborn King' card that I did in Navy & Silver.  This was one of the projects for my STYC event.  It is very similar to one of the Christmas cards offered in my Christmas card class.  You can see that card HERE!

There is just something about the combination of Night of Navy & Smoky Slate that is very elegant to me at Christmas time when making cards.

So what do you think?  This card is horizontal & the other card is vertical.  Other than that they are pretty much the exact same layout with different words used on the fronts.

 sets- 'The Newborn King'
(words came from-'Ornamental Pines')
cs:  Night of Navy, Smoky Slate & Whisper White
ink:  Silver Encore & Night of Navy
supplies:  Basic Rhinestones, 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch, 2" Circle Punch, 1 3/8" Circle Punch

My mom loves this card!!  I knew she would.

I'm off to Manda's.  We'll stay there for awhile this morning.  Nathan has an early meeting- so Brayden will be there too.  The boys & I will take him to school & then come home.

Tonight I'm a farmer for while.  We have some pigs from outside lots that need sorted to sell tomorrow night, so Nathan & Steve will come out to help us.  We have to get it done before it gets dark (it is easier that way- so hope we don't have to work by the light of the security light anyways).
Then Deke will work late picking up big round cornstalk bales they got done yesterday & get them put in the shed to use this winter.  I'll be finalizing orders & getting caught up on bookwork.

Nancy & Lynda had an awesome stampin' party yesterday!!!  It was pretty much a perfect day spent with friends creating pretty winter cards.  I have pictures taken of the 6 cards from my November classes, but just haven't had time to get them downloaded yet.  I'll do that soon & start posting them for you to see.

Ok....Deke is headed to the office this morning & off I go to town to Manda's.  I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!!

Happy Stamping!!

'Bearing Gifts'!

Here is a cute card I created for STYC.  I used the Holiday Catalog set- 'Bearing Gifts'.  I stamped the image onto Shimmery White card stock & then colored it in using Stampin' Write Markers.

I got a swap from Monica Davis that is in my GoDiva Group a few months ago & LOVe her card- so this is my CASE (Copy And Share Everything) from it.  Of course I changed it some....but I thank her for her inspiration.

I will update this post sometime soon with a supply list.
 ++++++++++++++

The guys got our corned all picked yesterday & our bins are full!  I spent my day stamping & cooking.  Our kids & us were all at the Seeley's last night.  I took in supper & we got to visit & spend the evening together.

I'm off to a big workshop today & I still have a little more cutting to do, plus load everything up!  Gotta run.......

I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!!
Happy Stamping!!

I made it to Osky last night to get groceries.  Deke wasn't able to go along as his cousin is here & they are picking our corn from the fields.

I'm home today & will be spending my day stamping!  I have a workshop tomorrow with Lynda & Nancy being co-hostesses.  We have a huge group joining us & I'm looking forward to spending my afternoon stamping & sharing with everyone.

Tonight we are going to Manda & Steve's for supper.  Nathan, Sarah & Brayden will be there too.  I'm marinading tenderized ham steaks to grill & I'm not sure yet what we'll do for potatoes.

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!

Merry Christmas!!

Here is another 'Seasonally Scattered' card.  I honestly do LOVE this stamp set.   There are 3 stamps included in this set.  I am not sure which one is my favorite!

I had a full house stamping last night & I am glad that everyone could join me.   I want to thank Denise for bringing yummy snacks- pumpkin chocolate chip cookies & apple cider & to Sonja for bringing veggies!
I will update this post with a supply list soon.  I tried to type this up & post it earlier this morning, but our electricity had flickered off a couple of times & I didn't have any internet service.

I'm off to pick up my boys!  Tonight I'm going to Osky to get groceries.  Maybe Deke can go with me & we can go out to eat?  Humm....that would be nice- we'll see.  He is finally home today & is trying to get pigs moved & buildings washed, as we are getting new baby piggies soon.

I'm home all day tomorrow & will be cutting card stock & getting supplies ready for my big workshop I have on Sunday.  Tomorrow night we have plans to spend it with our kids & families!!

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

'Seasonally Scattered'- THANKS!

THANKS!!  Wow- this is such a powerful word isn't it!  I know I'm so thankful for so much in my life.  I am crazy busy & I have a hard time wearing so many different hats at times- but I love what I do & I'm thankful for everything!

This is an embossed resist fall card.  It is a fun technique to do with a cool outcome!  I love hearing the "awhhs" when you emboss!

'Seasonally Scattered'
cs & ink:  Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Cajun Craze & Versamark Ink pad
supplies:  Chevron Ribbon, Sponges, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, Embossing Buddy, White Embossing Powder, Heat Tool

What a long day yesterday was!!  We had lots to do & got alot done, but just about ran out of having enough hours in the day to get them all done.

Deke & Mike did get re-elected as Keokuk County Board of Supervisors.

Our truckers were late getting here & so we didn't start loading the semi's until after 1:30 a.m. this morning.  It was then about 3:15 a.m. when we walked in the house, so we only got a few hours of sleep.  It was a very short night & it is gonna be a very long day!!

Deke is headed out to chore, then off to the office & then he'll be in Burlington for an afternoon meeting & back home to chore again- so he'll be gone all day.  I'm headed in to get the boys.  I'll then be burning the midnight oil tonight getting everything ready for my stampin' class I have here at our home tomorrow night.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

Weekly Deals- Nov. 4-10, 2014

A beautiful 'Wondrous Wreath' card!

WOW!  Last month I got an awesome fall wreath card from demonstrator Mary Ann Sedlacek.  I emailed her to find out how she cut the top for the gate fold card she sent to me.  She gracious shared that it was the Apothecary Accents framelits!  I was like- Oh WOW!!  I'll change the colors she used & re-create (CASE) her card for my upcoming STYC.  (She used Soft Suede for her card base, plus Hello Honey & Tangelo Twist for her wreath.)

So here is my Christmas version of her card.  Isn't this just gorgeous!!  It reminds me of a wreath hanging on my grandma's fence.  I LOVE it!  It is a simple elegance creation I do believe!

'Wondrous Wreath', 'Hardwood' background & 'Petite Pairs'
cs:  Chocolate Chip, Whisper White
ink:  Early Espresso, Old Olive, Real Red
supplies:  Big Shot, Wonderful Wreath framelits, Apothecary Accents framelits, Candy Dots Brad Bases, Paper Piercing mat, Paper Piercing Tool, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Word Window Punch, Paper Snips, 1/2" Circle Punch

Check it out with it opened up a little below.
Today is a crazy day!!!  Deke & I are off early this morning to go to the polls & vote first thing when they open up.  I'll then go pick up the boys & Brayden & take him to school.  We have an insurance agent coming late morning, have to have 2 hogs to the locker right after lunch & then sell 2 semi loads of hogs this evening.  Yep- tonight is my farmer night!  When we get in from loading hogs we'll eat supper, shower & head to the courthouse to be there to see the results of the elections as the votes are recorded.  Deke is running for re-election for our Keokuk County Board of Supervisors.  I wish him luck!  I pray that he & Mike both get re-elected as they make a good team & definitely serve the tax payers of our county well.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!

I sure enjoyed my day stamping yesterday with all of you that joined me!  I'm looking forward to sharing the exact same 6 cards with my other 2 groups this week too!!

I am not a fan of this day light savings time.  I don't mind getting up in the dark in the mornings, but I sure don't like having to drive home at night in the dark & eating supper in the dark, etc.

Deke is off to meetings today & tonight.  I'll be home with the boys.  I am hoping that it is nice enough we can go outside to play today.  I have lots to catch up on tonight from having stamp stuff all weekend.  And I need to gear up & finish things for this weeks stamp classes too.  Humm....hoping I get alot done.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!

Our Trick-or-Treaters!

Brayden & Jacobi (Brayden's baby brother)
Drake, Trey & Brody
I just had to share a comical photo of the boys at our home last night on one of their stops for trick-or-treating.  How blessed we are that Nathan, Kimi, Manda, Steve & all 5 boys were all at our house at the same time.  The boys were excited to see each other in their costumes & get their picture taken together.  It isn't easy getting them to look at the camera at the same time- so this is about as good as it got for capturing them all.
Jacobi is Brayden's mom (Kimi) & Mike's son & he just turned 5 months old on 10/22.  And Trey will be 5 months old on 11/12- so they are only about 3 weeks apart in age.  They were both hungry & wanting to eat & not get their picture taken.
But all in all- it didn't turn out to be too bad of a photo.

We had a great Halloween!
I hope you did too!
Here is the card that I made for the boys.
I just can't get enough of this cute little ghost & pumpkins.
This stamp set & coordinating framelits is definitely a favorite of mine.

Here are the cards & little candy bar treats I had sitting out that I made for the boys.

I am home today!
And I'm going to be a stampin' fool!
I pray that I have good mojo- as I have ALOT to do!
I have a class tomorrow with my monthly N. Liberty gals.
I am looking forward to seeing all of them & sharing!

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!

We had a fun time last night on "Hallows Eve" with the boys at the Autumn Acres Pumpkin Patch.  I posted a few photos of our fun late last night when we got home.  You should have heard the laughs & giggles!  And then we had a treat & got to all eat supper at McDonalds together.

When I got home last night I was busy putting together Halloween Treats for our boys & a few other special little friends.  And of course they all got a Halloween card from me too (which I'll try to get a photo of & post soon).

Today the boys & I have errands to run this morning (recycle center, bank, etc.).  I don't think it is going to be warm enough today to get to play outside- guess we'll see.  Tonight the boys will all go trick or treating!  And I hope to spend the later part of my evening burning the midnight oil creating for Lana's Stampin' Party that I have on Sunday!

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Wishing you all a very safe & Happy Halloween!!
