More butterflies, using Botanical Butterfly DSP!

I am using the Botanical Butterfly DSP again!!   You can get it for free during Sale-a-bration with a $50 product order.

On this black & white card I added some Lovely Lipstick accents to it for a splash of color!
How did I do it?
Put the 4 x 3" piece of DSP into your Paper Cutter & along the 3" edge- cut downwards, making 3- 1" strips.  You then want to line up your strips so that the butterflies still are shown correctly.  Then adhere these strips to the Basic Black Piece- leaving about a 1/8" gap between each strip, so that the black shows through.
NOTE:  I adhere the 2 outside pieces first so that I have even spacing around the outside edges & then put the one in the middle on last.

stamp set:  'Label Me Pretty'
card stock:
  • Thick Whisper White- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4" for the card base
  • Whisper White- 1 1/2" strip- stamp words on & punch out with the 1 1/4" Circle Punch; 4 x 5 1/4"- to stamp words on for the inside greeting
  • Basic Black-3 1/2 x 4 1/4"
  • Lovely Lipstick- 1 x 3 3/4"; 3 3/4 x 4 1/2"
designer paper:  Botanical Butterfly DSP- 4 x 3"
ink:   Black Stazonother:  Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Pretty Label Punch, 1 1/4" Circle Punch, Paper Cutter, Dimensionals

'Dear Doily'

When I first saw this bundle in the Occasions Catalog I loved it!  Old fashioned/antique/versatile!

And I'm just using it for the first time.  This was such a popular bundle that the Framelits are now sold out!  But you can still get the stamp set.  So I created this clean/simple & pretty card for my upcoming 40 card class using it!
I used Merry Merlot & Sahara Sand card stock.  I just love the detail in the doily- wow!

stamp set:  'Dear Doily'
card stock:
  • Merry Merlot- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2- score at 4 1/4, fold in half for card base; 3 3/4 x 1"; 2 3/4" strip
  • Sahara Sand- 5 x 3 3/4"
  • Whisper White-4 3/4 x 3 1/2"; 4 3/4 x 3 1/2"- for inside of the card; 2 3/4" strip to stamp words on & punch them out using the 2 1/4" Circle Punch
ink:  Merry Merlot
other:  Metallic Pearls, 2 1/4" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Layering Circle Framelits, Dimensionals

Check out this card below......we don't currently have any Merry Merlot ribbon that coordinates with it- but I have some retired that was in the Holiday Catalog.  So I added it here!  What do you think?  I am a ribbon girl I guess- it just adds that finishing touch to it.  OH- and I sprayed on a little champagne shimmer paint too to make it sparkle!  (You can't see that in the photo, but it is sure pretty in person!)

Yesterday was a busy day with kids & then burning the midnight oil stamping!

Today is a repeat day- I'll spend my day today with the 3 little ones & then burn the midnight oil cutting card stock:

Deke is off early to chore this morning & head to his office at the courthouse.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

'Butterfly Gala'

Well......this is a totally Susie card.  It is black & white & I really like the way it turned out!  What do you think?

Look at the ribbon.  I slid in a piece of the Polka Dot Tulle ribbon over the top of the Black Satin ribbon, when I was tying it in a knot.  I looks good!  And it was so easy to do!
My original thought was to color this Botanical Butterfly DSP (FREE Sale-a-bration choice with a $50 product purchase) with some of my stamping blends.  But as I got this card together I decided I liked it best just being all black & white!  It is very striking just this way!

I used my Paper Snips to flag the ends of the Basic Black strip!

This is another one of the cards for my upcoming All Occasions card classes!

stamp set:  'Butterfly Gala'
card stock:
  • Basic Black- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4", fold in half for card base; 5 x 1/2"- flag both end with Paper Snips; 3 1/4 x 1 1/4"
  • Whisper White- 4 x 5 1/4"- stamp greeting on inside of card; 5 1/4 x 1"; 1 x 3"- stamp words onto
designer paper:  Botanical Butterfly- Sale-a-bration choice- FREE with a $50 product purchase- 4x4"
ink:  Black Memento
other:  Black Satin ribbon, Whisper White Polka Dot Tulle ribbon, dimensionals, Glue dots, Paper Snips

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  When everyone went home last night I burnt the midnight oil stamping!

This morning I'm off to get Trey & spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The school bus is back on normal routes- so that is good news, so the twins will ride the bus here after school.  Tonight when the kids go home I'll be burning the midnight oil again stamping!  Deke has a meeting tonight.  He is going with our county engineer to the Farm Bureau meeting.

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

'First Steps'

This card kicks off me sharing cards that I'm doing for my upcoming 'All Occasions' card classes that I have the next 2 weekends!

This is my baby boy card.......I used the 'First Steps' stamp set, along with the How Sweet It is DSP!
Both of these products are in the Occasions Catalog.

I am a more detailed stamper that loves fun folds, lots of layers & embellishments!  For this class the cards are still super cute, but a basic fold & not tons of layers.  It is a stamp-a-stack class where everyone makes 20 different cards (2 of each).  So they all go home with a whole bag of completed 'All Occasion' cards.  This is my most popular class of the year & I am excited about stamping & sharing with everyone that is joining me!!
stamp set:  'First Steps'
card stock:
  • Coastal Cabana- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2- score at 4 1/4- fold in half for card base
  • Pool Party- 4 1 4/ x 2 1/4"; 2 3/4" strip
  • Whisper White- 4 x 5 1/4 (for inside card greeting), 4 x 1; 2 3/4" Strip
designer paper:  How Sweet It Is- 4x2"
ink:  Coastal Cabana
other:  Big Shot, Layering Circles Framelits, Magnetic Platform, White Flax ribbon, Starburst Punch, Glitter Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Yesterday I literally stamped all day!

Deke is up early this morning to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up early to stamp before I go to get Trey.  I'll then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The buses are still on hard surface routes, so one of us will go pick up the boys after school.  When everyone goes home tonight I'll be stamping!  I have lots of stamping & cutting to get done this week!  Praying I have good mojo again tonight.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Wishing you lots of luck on this St. Patrick's day!!!

Here is a fun card that I made on Friday night just for this holiday!  So what do you think!

I used the 'Amazing Life' stamp set that includes the words, the shamrocks & the little dots- that I used here.

I fussy cut out the shamrock with my Paper Snips & added a little Call Me Clover Enamel dot (from the Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots) to the center of it.
stamp set:  'Amazing Life'
card stock:  Call Me Clover, Soft Seafoam, Whisper White
ink:  Call Me Clover
other:  1/8" Call Me Clover ribbon, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Paper Snips, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Layering Ovals Framelits, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Standard Platform, Dot to Dot Embossing Folder

Yesterday was a full day that started out working on the farm & selling hogs!  And then a house full to stamp with me in the morning & more in the afternoon!

Then last night Deke & I went to Bogies for a quick supper & then I burnt the midnight oil stamping!

I will be stamping all day today- praying I have good mojo!!  I have LOTS to get done for my big 'Annual All Occasions' class I have next weekend.

Gotta run!

Simple Saturday!

It is a Saturday, so I'm making this quick & simple!
With St. Patrick's Day tomorrow I decided that I'd make a quick card last night & I ended up making two of them.  This is one of them, using this 'Amazing Life' stamp set.  I like the way it turned out!

Check out the frame around the words!  It is with the 'Letter Board Messages' stamp set in the Annual catalog on pg. 29.
I used the Layering Squares Framelits to cut out the words, the scalloped & the Square frame too!

stamp set:  'Amazing Life' & 'Letter Board Messages'
card stock:  Call Me Clover & Whisper White
designer paper:  Happiness Booms DSP
ink:  Call Me Clover
other:  White Tulle Polka Dot Ribbon, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Layering Squares Framelits, Dimensionals, Glue Dot

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  I didn't get much else done except hold Ainslee.  Hope she isn't getting sick.  The boys worked on some St. Patrick's projects.  And Brayden was here after school for awhile too!  He picked out his 4-H pigs on Thursday night, so I got to hear all about them.  I think each one of the kids are going to have their own pig this year.  It will be fun to watch them take care of them & check on them.  When everyone was gone last night, I burnt the midnight oil working on cutting card stock.
This morning we are up early to mark, sort & load hogs.  I'll then hurry in to get tables/chairs set up & everything ready for my stampin' classes.

Woo hoo......we have warmer temps, the sunshine yesterday helped dry up the roads some & I am finally able to have a Saturday stamp class without the weather affecting us too much!  I have 2 classes here at our home today.  One this morning & one this afternoon!   I am looking forward to seeing many friends that are coming to stamp with me.  And most of them  I haven't seen for quite awhile!  I hope to get to sit, visit & stamp a little with them today!

Deke's brother is coming up later this morning & the guys are going to spend the day in the shop- working on the race car.   So I hope they get alot done.  Our first race of the year in a couple of weeks!  So time is ticking away.

Tonight I'll be stamping again.......lots to get ready for next weekends big annual "All Occasions" stamp-a-stack!

I HOPE you have a SUPER Saturday!
Happy Stamping!

Check out Shelli's Blog as she shares about my Celebration!

CLICK HERE TO go to Shelli's BLOG!

Shelli shared LOTS of pictures of us in Utah!!  So be sure you click on the link above & read all about it!

Susie and Deke Wood were in Utah last week celebrating Susie’s 1M milestone—an incredible accomplishment! In Susie’s words, it was “a trip of a lifetime.” Susie was greeted warmly in Riverton and spent the day touring the building and working on the line, visiting and eating with dozens of employees, and eating dinner at the Melting Pot with members of the leadership team and their spouses.

The second day was also spent at the home office where Susie discussed with Kathy several ideas for her stamp set, and Sara and I got to stamp with Susie, using new product from the upcoming catalog…so fun! Then the six of us ate lunch together just before sending Susie and Deke on their way to Kanab. Because Susie had been to southern Utah for Founder’s Circle trips, she especially wanted Deke to see the facility, the employees, and “the park that rubber built.” We hope Susie’s trip to Utah was all she expected and more! Congratulations again, Susie!

INVENTORY UPDATES from Stampin' Up!

*Bunny Builder Punch Is No Longer Orderable

Sales for the Bunny Builder Punch (item 147039) have exceeded our forecast and our stock is now depleted. Once we receive additional inventory (at the end of April), we will fulfill all backorders.

*Update on Die Inventory

Due to complications with our die supplier, we’ve run out of the Doily Builder Thinlits Dies (item 148553) in North America and they will not be available in the future; this item will retire with the 2019 occasions catalog and because of these complications, we will not be able to replenish inventory on this item. If you placed an order for these dies while the item was on backorder, your order will be filled as soon as possible.
We anticipate our inventory may soon be depleted on a few additional dies that will retire with the current occasions catalog. The dies listed below will retire and will likely run out before the end of the catalog sales period.
If we sell out of these dies, they will no longer be available to order:
  • Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies (item 148529)
  • Rose Trellis Thinlits Dies (item 148549)
  • Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies (item 148548)
We are also concerned that we may run out of a few dies that will carry over into the new annual catalog. If this happens, they may go on backorder or may not be available to order until we are able to replenish the inventory.

We recognize that this is all frustrating for you, and apologize for the inconvenience you are experiencing. The last thing we want to do is disappoint our demonstrators and their customers, so we are working on solutions to improve the situation with this product line.

'Piece of Cake'

Today I'm sharing a pretty card that my demonstrator friend Christy Kimball made for me!  She used alot of product from the Occasions Catalog!  She used 2 different stamp sets for the card front-'Piece of Cake' & the words are from the set- 'Amazing Life'.  Both of these stamp sets are awesome!
This is a fun fold card too!

stamp set:  'A Piece of Cake', 'Amazing Life' & 'Love What You Do'- (the leaf & flower clusters that are stamped around the edge of the Powder Pink card stock piece for the inside of the card)
card stock:
  • Flirty Flamingo- 6 1/2 x  5 1/2"- score at 4 1/4- for card base
  • Powder Pink- 4 x 5 1/4"- for inside card (that shows through along the right half
  • Smoky Slate- 4" strip- cut out Stitched Rectangle Framelit
  • Whisper White-  (2)- 3" strip- cut out Stitched Rectangle Framelit- used one for the outside of the card & one for the inside of the card to stamp her greeting on
ink:  Black MementoStampin' Blends:  Light & Dark Flirty Flamingo, Light & Dark Smoky Slate
other:  Basic Rhinestones, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Stitched Rectangle Framelits

Note: The 'Piece of Cake' stamp set has a coordinating punch that goes with it!  I am a punch girl- so I love that!  This punch is so popular that it is currently not available until the first part of April.  But the punch wasn't even used with this card.

**Sorry this post is later than normal.  I tried for 45 mins to download pictures last night before I went to bed & our internet was so slow it wouldn't do it.  Glad it was working this morning!

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  The 3 big boys road the bus out after school too.  Last night I worked on stamping stuff!

This morning Deke is off early to chore.  He has 2 meetings today- so is headed out here soon.  I'm off to pick up Bradyen & head to Manda's.  She has an early meeting.  So I'll feed the boys, take the 3 big boys to school, stop & get the other 2 little ones on my way home & spend my day with them.  Buses are on hard surface routes this week- so I'll go pick up the 3 big boys after school today.  And I'll be a stamping fool tonight when everyone has gone home.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

We loved our time in Utah!!

So here are so highlights & a narrative about our trip....I wanted to share it with you & hopefully you will enjoy reading all about it!

We arrived in Utah around noon last Tuesday (3/5/19).  Our hotel room wasn't ready yet, so we walked about 1 1/2 miles (in the nice weather) to the Joseph Smith building & had my favorite Turkey Pot Pies for lunch.  We then walked back (the scenic route) so Deke could see the convention center & some of our other favorite places to go when we are at convention, etc.

Then on Tuesday night- my dear friend Donna (who also works at SU! & I have worked with LOTS of times over the years when presenting, etc) & her husband Jeff, came & picked up Deke & I at our hotel & we ate supper at the Red Lugana!  It was delicious mexican food & their company was great!  Donna had a little gift for me (note cards/envelopes in a cute little pouch) & a little gift for Deke (a fireman's shirt from Jeff's work, as he is a fireman).  I need to get photos taken of these & will share them when I do.  But we were so excited that they made the drive into Salt Lake City & took the time to spend with us.  It was great & I just so regret not getting a quick selfie of us or photo of all of us.  It was a special time though & we won't forget it!  Jeff gave Deke directions on how to get to Kanab on our drive there.  And then he even text us later in the week to check on us- making sure we made it & didn't have any problems, etc.  Now how sweet & special is that!!  And then Donna gave me a pretty card with a sweet note in it when I saw her briefly at the Riverton office on Wednesday for my celebration there.  Jeff wants Deke to come visit them at their cabin sometime.  Humm......we'd love to!  So maybe we'll take a vacation to Utah again someday.

Then on Wednesday morning (3/6/19) we arrived at the Riverton office for my celebration!  A celebration is so what it was!  I was so overwhelmed with everything.  It was just amazing & totally unbelieveable.  From our walk in the door, to our tour, to meeting with various departments & employees, to working on the pick line packing boxes of orders......it was ALL JUST AMAZING!!

I want to share just a few photos from Riverton that were taken with my camera.
So if you have read my post comments the past week.....I shared in them how much we loved our time in Utah with the employees at the Stampin' Up! plants.  Check out this awesome team shown above in the picture with us!  This is a group of the design team from different departments!  Oh My Gosh- I could so totally work with this group on a daily basis.  I loved how they do things from beginning to end, how connected they are & how so very talented they all are!  They had my head spinning with ideas & excitement!!  It was just totally up my alley- spending the time with them.  We ended up spending more time with them than we were suppose to- because I had lots to share with them & they had lots to share with me!  It was awesome!!

So many of you have asked about my stamp set design.  Let me tell you- I THOUGHT it was all set to go until yesterday.  Now I'm not sure what is going to happen.  The whole design team saw it & they were all for it.  But I want it to coordinate with a punch, so now I'm not sure that things are going to quite work out as I had planned.  I am still waiting on the final word on whether is is a go or if I have to come up with another idea.  But.......I had literally at least 50 different pages of ideas that I shared with them on other stamp design ideas I have.  So if I have to go to another plan I will.  We will see what happens.  Just know that it takes alot of planning & waiting for a stamp set to be in the catalog.  So I promise I'll share with you when I can.  But we are probably talking at least 1 1/2- 2 years before my stamp set will be in a catalog due to the planning ahead for each catalog.  And let me tell you- this is going to be hard to do to wait on!
We spent quite a bit of time in the warehouse with Rett (demo support) & Ben (the camera guy).  Rett gave us a great tour of everything!  It is just amazing how our orders are processed!  Both Deke & I got to pick orders & pack boxes too.  That was so fun to see & get to do!  Deke is very much a 'how does it work' guy......so he was totally enjoying this & he was so impressed on how it all worked- as we learned all about this.
We ate sandwiches & soup with 4 of the employees that I have worked with on various presentations/demonstrations at SU! events I'd done over the years.  Chad is my Business Development guy; Shannon, Cori & Brian are ones I've worked with on various things over the many years at conventions & On Stage events.  So it was great to catch up with & chat with all of them!

Shannon is going to be in Minneapolis next month for our SU! On Stage event.  I am hoping that she joins me there for a stamping night I'm doing with my team!  And later in April will be my Annual Spring Fling event for my customers.  Chad has expressed interest in attending this.  So we'll see if that ends up working out.  But just as a little note- if you are a customer of mine you will want to come to my Spring Fling & I'll share more about this sometime soon!
Check out how cute this table is decorated.  It is in black & white- especially for me since they all know that is one of my favorite combinations of colors.  It was so cool!!  I loved it!
Here is the beautiful bouquet of flowers that Sara handed me that morning when we walked in the Riverton office door to begin my celebration.  She & I are both criers.  And she was already crying as the door opened up for me to walk into the office.  Awhhh!!!!

So......I haven't yet seen any of the photos yet that were taken at my celebration.  But when I get them I'll share lots more about this celebration day!!!
I brought my bouquet of flowers home in my suitcase.  Some of them didn't fair too well.....so I saved some & I'm still enjoying them now in a vase in my dining room!  They are still really pretty!  The Calypso Roses were really wilted.......so I took all of those rose petals off & have them a big bowl drying & I'm enjoying looking at them & smelling them too!

I have a few more photos that I'll share sometime hopefully soon.  So be sure to check back by & read more about our trip to Utah!
Hugs-
SUSIE

A special gift!

This is a box that Sara & Shelli gave to me.  I so love the colors........and it coordinates with the rest of my celebration color theme with the Share What You Love Bundle!

Aren't the colors & the style totally me!  They did a great job in making them.
This is a little closer look at the tag.  Inside of it is a sweet note that Shelli wrote & both of them signed it.

I'll looked up the supplies & hope I didn't miss any of them!  They used LOTS!

++++++++
Yesterday was a LONG day!  It started out with our trucker calling us at 4 am.  He was sick with a migraine & was going to be late......and he finally showed up with all of the baby piggies at 9:15.  He then continued with a huge drama ordeal....and I seriously thought I was going to have to call 911.  He laid in the trailer for about 15 minutes, then slid down the chute on his belly & laid on the ground for another 20 minutes or more.  His head hurt, his back hurt, his tooth hurt....you name it.  So in the 35 years I've been working with the hogs- I have helped load many semi's.  But I have NEVER unloaded a semi before.  But I did yesterday!  We had 1400 new weaned babies to unload.  It took me about 2 hours.  I ran about 30 little babies carefully off the trailer at one time, down the slide & into the building to Deke.  I guess it all worked out.  But oh my gosh......we needed to get the baby piggies off the trailer & inside & to some water & I could see that the driver wasn't going to do anything.  I can tell you that he would have been an employee of mine I would have fired him on the spot.  I know he'll never come to our farm again.  We told them to never send him here.  So yesterday was so totally not a normal day at all.  And it was an exceptionally long.  Trey was a trooper & so good.  Thankfully Masen & Nathan ended up helping us later in the afternoon so we could get done. And Sarah had to change her schedule & stay home with Anislee.  I guess it all worked out & we survived & the most importantly the babies are safe, warm & well cared for now in their new home.  We were all tired & sore when we got done.

While Deke was choring last night, I ran up to visit my mom a bit too right after I got done helping him with the pigs.  I hadn't seen her for a couple of weeks.  We had a nice visit.  I wasn't there too long, but I enjoyed our chat & catching up.

This morning we are up early.  Deke will chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'll spend my day with the 3 little ones & see the 3 big ones again tonight after school.  Tonight when everyone has gone home I'll be stamping!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Happy Stamping!

'Part of My Story'

Look at this gorgeous card!!  I love the colors, the layout & the words!  I want to give a big shout out to my adopted team member- Kimberly Miller- who sent this to me.  I love it & it so touched my heart!   Yes- we are each others chosen family.  And that is just so special to me.  She is an orphaned demonstrator that I met many years ago & I include her in all of my team events!  She is a very talented stamper & a great friend.  I'm always happy when she joins my group events. And I'm so glad that stamping brought us together!

Kimberly sent this card to me, as a congratulations card when I hit my million career sales.  This is the same DSP & colors that SU! made my congratulations card out of too.  Kimberly did an awesome job of making them go together!  On the inside of the card she used the words from the 'Part of My Story' set- I'm so glad YOU are a part of my STORY (and then wrote a very special personal note to me too)!  How cool & how true these words are in the neat Sale-a-bration stamp set called- 'Part of my Story'!

Yesterday we were up bright & early to catch up on things.  Deke worked on the farm all day.  It was about 9 when he finally quit & came in to eat supper.  I worked on piles of bookwork, emails & orders- literally all day!  And I didn't get them all done.  I did get our 7 loads of laundry done......and all put away.  So that is good.

This morning we are up early.  We get baby piggies today!  A whole BUNCH of them!  The kids will be outside with us while we sort & move baby piggies around.  So I hope we have a good day!

Tonight when the kids go home I'll hopefully get all of my paperwork done.  I have a bunch of farm bookwork I need to get done too.  It is amazing how you work so hard to get things done before you get ready to go somewhere & you work like crazy when you get home to catch up on things that happened while you were gone.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!
