A fun fold cross card!

Yesterday Brody & Drake had their first communion!  When going through my stamps, trying to decide on what kind of card to make for them- I decided to make them wooden crosses!!  Why?  Because check out the awesome wooden rosaries we got for them last summer when we were in Athens, Greece.
We walked clear up to the top of a huge rock hill (on rough, big rocks)- to an old Catholic Church in Athens.  These rosaries were hand carved by a priest & then blessed with Holy Water there.  I thought they were really cool.  And the boys liked them too!!  So that was great!  I wanted to make sure that they had something special, on such a special day for them!
This cross card is a fun fold- tent card!!

Check out how it looks from the side view!
Cool huh!!
It is called this, as it stands up like a tent!
This is what it looks like when it is opened up & laying down flat.
I used the In Good Taste 12x12 DSP pack!
This is where I good the pretty
woodgrain DSP to make the cross with.
This is an assorted 12x12" DSP pack, with 24 different sheets
(2 each of 12 different double sided sheets).
Look at all of the different patterns, colors & images!
Alot of them are true photogenic images such as wood, tile, fabric, etc.

Coordinating colors that go with this In Good Taste DSP are-
Basic Gray, Early Espresso, Gray Granite, Smoky Slate, Night of Navy,
Rococo Rose, Petal Pink, Very Vanilla, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
How did I make this fun fold tent card?
  1. Early Espresso base- 4 1/4 x 7"- score at 3 1/2"- fold in half for card base.
  2. Add 4 x 3 1/4" wood grian DSP to this.
  3. To make the Cross= 3 3/4 x 3/4"- wood grain DSP; 2 3/4 x 3/4"- wood grain DSP.
  4. Layer behind DSP= 4 x 1" & 3 x 1".
  5. Adhere to 4 1/4 x 3 1/4" Crumb Cake, embossed using the Tasteful Textures Embossing Folder.
  6. Layer onto- 4 1/2 x 3 1/2" Early Espresso card stock.
  7. Using your Grid Paper- so that you adhere the 2 pieces together, but don't make them taller than 5 1/2".
  8. See where I added the dimensionals & then adhered the 2 pieces together to make a tent type fun fold!
So what do you think?
I like the way it turned out!
These are the boys' cards that I posted yesterday!

I LOVE the smiles in this picture!
It was a beautiful hot day, with a gentle breeze!
We had lots to celebrate!

Last night Deke & I went back out to the lake to visit the Seeley family, that was camping there.
We sat around the campfire & enjoyed our time with them.
Tonight Trey & Masen have their last baseball game of the year.
So we are looking forward to this too!
I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs-
SUSIE
