'Love & Sympathy'

Hello!
Here is a sympathy card I made this past week to send to my friend Teresa's husband.
This is probably the hardest card I've ever made.....
as over the past 2 years through her journey with her cancer I tried to make a
card each month to mail to her.
She was such a beautiful person- inside & outside
& will be greatly missed by many people.

This card I made going horizontal.
And this is the exact same layout going vertical.

Which one do you like better?

 'Love & Sympathy'
cs: Strawberry Slush, Basic Gray, Whisper White
ink:  Strawberry Slush
markers:  Pistachio Pudding & Strawberry Slush
supplies:  Big Shot, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, 2 1/2" Circle Punch, 2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch, 2" Circle Punch , Dimensionals

++++++++
What a fun 4th of July!
All of our kids were with us in the Sigourney Parade,
plus Deke's sister Darci & Maria.
Just Brayden, Darci & Maria were in the What Cheer Parade with us.
We saw many 'old' friends throughout the day & got to visit a bit.

Then we headed home to chore, get supper

& make salads (to take to Deke's parents for lunch today).
Last night we met the Seeley clan in town to watch the fireworks with them.
What fun we had fun seeing the fireworks through the eyes of a child.
And then we were home again & I was off to stamp.

This morning we are headed to Richland to be in their parade &
then back home to get lunch ready & spend some time with Deke's family.
I hope to be home early this afternoon- as I have lots of stamping left to do.
I can't wait to spend my afternoon tomorrow stamping with
Denise & everyone that will be joining me at my stampin' party!

Gotta run......
Hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

Happy 4th of July!!!

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!

Here is a fun card that I created using the stamp set- 'Work of Art'!
I have seen tons of different flags created with this set
& I wanted to come up with something different.
'Work of Art' & 'Sumthin' Sumthin'
cs:  Night of Navy, Real Red, Smokey Gray, Whisper White
ink:  Real Red & Night of Navy
supplies:  X Large Oval Punch, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (Small Star),
dimensionals

We had another late night at the races.
Since Nathan didn't make qualifying on Wednesday night (due to his motor blowing up)
he ended up starting 20th last night & finished 15th in the main.
He was all in one piece though- so guess that is a huge plus.

This morning we were up bright & early to get the chores done.
We got the Scout washed, went to town & borrowed a trailer from a friend
& we are headed back to Sigourney to the parade this morning
& then to What Cheer to their parade this afternoon.

Our races for tonight got cancelled in Columbus Junction
due to the river flooding there.......
so Deke & I will stay home & I'll be creating & cutting cards for
my class I have on Sunday.
We might try to run to town late to see the fireworks with our kids & grandsons.

I hope you all have a FABULOUS Friday!
ENJOY a safe 4th of July Holiday today with your family and/or friends!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

'Banner Blast'.....another new catalog stamp set!

Hello!
Here are more of my pinwheels from my June 'My Paper Pumpkin' kit.
I also made this cute July calendar page too using new catalog supplies.
And here is a close up on the calendar.
'Sumthin' Sumthin' & 'Banner Blast'
cs:  Night of Navy, Real Red & Whisper White
ink:  Night of Navy
supplies:  Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (Small Star),
Banner Punch, Dimensionals & Glue Dots

We had a very late & very bad night at the races.
Nathan looked great & was passing for the lead & his motor broke.
Or should I say that it grenaded.
There were parts all over the track.
So the guys came home & spent the night in the shop trying to get the car ready
to race again tonight for the big show.
Praying we have a good night.

Due to the rain we were at the races for 2 1/2 hours last night before they got the track dried out enough to be able to start them.
Needless to say it was not fun waiting with all of the boys.
Hoping that they start on time tonight & that all of the boys are good.

I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!
hugs!

Let's Celebrate!

Hello!
Here is a quick card I made early this morning.
I always love red, white & blue!
Adding the Smokey Slate (gray) to it kind of all pulls it together doesn't it?
 'Sumthin'Sumthin'
cs:  Smokey Slate, Night of Navy, Real Red & Whisper White
ink:  Memento pad
supplies:  Big Shot, Star Framelit, Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (Star), dimensionals, Zig, Zag Embossing Folder & Decorative Dots Embossing Folder

Here are a couple more cards I made using the same supplies & same layouts-
but changing the colors around some.

We had a busy day yesterday!!
I had all 4 boys all day & we got along good.
Then Susie's Hair Hut was open on the front porch late yesterday afternoon-
with Drake, Brody, Steven & Deke all getting their hair cut.
Then last night we sold hogs!
It was late when we got in & I was beat!
I slept like a rock.

We are off on another busy day.....
Brayden will be here again with us.
Deke is in the office this morning.
The we are moving pigs this afternoon.
And then I think we are all headed to the races tonight in Osky if all goes as planned.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!!

'Tickled Pink'

Hello!
Here is a fun card!
This reminds me of my grandma.....as she had plastic flamingo's in her yard
when I was growing up!
This set is this years Ronald McDonald set.

Stampin' Up! will donate $3.00 to the Ronald McDonald House.

I got a swap from a demonstrator by the name of Becky Morris.
She had used this stamp set & did a similar layout with different colors.
I changed it came up with this....adding more pink to it!

Trey's appointment yesterday went well.
He is so sweet!
The twins just love him so much.

Iowa has been hit hard with tons of rain.
I know we got over 5 inches in less than 2 hours of time.
Many have water in their homes & damages to their crops.
Last night was a long night helping family members that had water in their homes.
So sad....

I am a farmer today....will be out helping Deke & selling hogs.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Happy Stamping!

It is time to celebrate!

Hello!
The end of the Stampin' Up! year is today.
So this is a fun card that I sent to each of the gals that are directly under me
in my Iowa Inkers team.
I hope they liked it!

I am just a lovin' the new Back to Black Designer Paper
& this new 'Peace, Love & Cupcakes' stamp set.
PLUS I am also in love with this new BLACK ink pad!
It is the Memento one that you use with the Blendabilities-
but is works great to stand alone just as a great ink pad to stamp
onto white or vanilla cardstock.
'Peace, Love & Cupcakes' & 'Fabulous Four'
cs:  Real Red, Basic Black & Whisper White
dp:  Back to Black
ink:  Memento & Real Red
supplies:  2 3/8" Scalloped Circle Punch, 1 2/8" Circle Punch, NEW 2" Circle Punch, Dimensionals, Basic Pearls

Yesterday did not go as planned.
I woke up with a migraine, so laid back down for awhile.
When I got up I went to pull a pan out from under out kitchen sink so that I could go grill some brats.
AND it was wet!
Yep- my sink drain had rusted out & I had water standing inches deep under my sink.
So I removed everything!
Deke came in & we headed to Menards for parts to fix it.
5 hours & over $200 later- he got it all put back together.
While we were fixing it we decided to replace all of the pipes
& the garbage disposal too.
What a mess!
We are still drying it out & he'll go to our local lumber yard today to have them
cut a piece of plywood to put back in for a base piece
so that I can put things back under there.
This mess so wasn't on my schedule for yesterday.
I'm just thankful that Deke is talented enough to fix it & it is now done.

I'm headed to town for Trey's 2 week check up here soon.
We'll have a busy day!!
Manda & I didn't get to stamp together yesterday like we had planned-
so that is now on our list of things to do later this afternoon/evening.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

Our visitors today.....

I LOVE that Stampin' Up! has brought so many friends into our lives over the past 13 years.
Thankfully many of them are close by that I get to see often & stamp with!
But others are far away & I get to see them 1-3 times per year at our Stampin' Up! events.

How honored we are that my dear demonstrator friend Diana Gibbs from Arizona & her family made a special stop at our farm on their way through Iowa today.
Photo: YAY!! We're here!! Love my Susie
Me & Diana
Diana- holding Trey, Eric, Jeff, Brayden & Deke

I love to cook too.....so I got to make them all lunch!
Our kids (Nathan, Manda & Steve) & 4 grandsons were all here to join us too.

I made breaded tenderloins, cheesy potatoes, sweet corn & oreo dessert!
It was yummy!
I think they left with full tummies.
Diana also got to cuddle with Trey some too!

How blessed I am!!!
Happy Stamping!
hugs!

Red, White & Blue Pinwheels!

Hello!
Here is a cute pinwheel banner I created with
my July "My Paper Pumpkin" kit!
It is so cute!
And was so fast & easy to make.
Look at all of these pinwheels!
There were 24 of the in the kit......
 Here is my completed banner.
Doesn't it look cute hanging on my family room entertainment center!
And here is are the pinwheels that I put into a mason jar as a centerpiece.
I had fun using my fringe scissors making the shredded paper in the the jar.
+++++++++++
I'm so EXCITED that my demonstrator friend Diana Gibbs,
her husband Jeff & son Eric are coming to visit us at our home today!!
It is so amazing that Stampin' Up! has brought so many
awesome friends into my life!
Diana is only one of the hundreds of friends that I treasure
& I love sharing our passion of stamping together.

So.....gotta run!
I'm gonna make sure the Gibb's don't leave here hungry.
Jeff will hopefully like the breaded tenderloins that I mam making for him.
So I still have lots to do before our guests arrive!

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!
Happy Stamping!
hugs!
