Happy Birthday to Brayden!! And a NEW Catalog Sneak Peek!

Awhhhh.......it is so much fun playing with NEW products!  Check out these awesome alphabet edgelits that will be available on June 1st in the NEW Annual Catalog.  They are called the Layering Alphabet Edgelits.

This is card that I created for my Spring Fling I had last weekend.  I had all of the letters cut for everyone & they just had to do a little stamping & then assemble it.  It was a cool thing to share!  And I think everyone liked it.

And this is also the card that Brayden got last night at his birthday party from Grandma & Papa.  Today he is actually 10 years old!!  I can't believe it.  Where does the time go?  He loved his card (& probably the money in it more).  I created this card using these colors with him in mind!
The Tempting Turquoise color I used here is retiring!  Have you stocked up on it if it is one of the colors that you want to continue to use?

stamp set:  'Confetti Celebration'-RETIRING
card stock:  Tempting Turquoise-RETIRING, Pool Party, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay
ink: Pacific Point
other:  Bit Shot, Magnetic Platform, Layering Alphabet Edgelits- NEW on June 1st, Classic Label Punch, Dimensionals, Glue Dots
Check it out!  I cut out the "Y" by itself like this.   I just had to snip the top left corner with my Paper Snips, so that we could have it separate & adhere it to the front of the word.
And this is what the framelit set itself looks like that cuts out the V shape with the alphabet connected to it.  The letters just hook into the slots.  It is pretty cool!!  They lined up perfectly when I used a 3x3 of card stock to cut it from.
I also wanted to share an old Crimpled Paper technique that I did when I first stamping over 18 years ago.  Back then we didn't have the Big Shot- so we created our background with ink.
How did I do i?
  • I just took a 3x3 piece of typing paper
  • scrunched it up
  • pushed it into my ink pad
  • & then stamped it onto my paper!
It just gives a textured look & some added depth & dimension to the card.
You'll have to give this 'old' & fun crimpled paper technique a try!
++++++++
Yesterday was a busy day with Masen & Ainslee.  Brody & Brayden were here after school.  We all then went to Nathan & Sarah's home for supper to celebrate Brayden's 10th birthday.

This morning I'm off to town to get the boys, take the twins to school & spend my day with the 3 little ones.  Deke is home work on the farm all day.  Tonight when everyone is gone home I have lots of stuff to get unpacked & put away from my Spring Fling class I had this past weekend.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
And Happy May Day!!!
I'm gonna make May Day baskets with the boys- so hope that goes well & is fun!

Happy Stamping!

Here is another fun card I made using the 'Rooted in Nature' stamp set.  It will be available on June 1st to purchase!

I used my Stamparatus to line up & stamp the trees in the center of the cut our circle.  It worked great!!!

This would be a great sympathy or guy card.
I used some old products here too, along with this new stamp set.

Yesterday was a LONG day!  I was up early & headed to South English to clean up from my Spring Fling.  I was there until 3:30 & then came to work on the farm with Deke for 1 1/2 hours.  We hurried in to shower & made it just in time to Brayden's soccer game at 6:00.  From there we went back to South English to finish cleaning & packing everything up to bring home.  Thankfully Deke helps vacuum & put back the tables & chairs.  We walked in the door to our house about 9:20.  I got the car partially unloaded while Deke went out to check pigs & shut doors.  We were both beat & needed to get some sleep.
So this morning I'm up early to finish getting things unloaded & moved out of our family room- to get ready for the kids &  I'll spend my day with them.  Deke is off early to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  He'll work on the farm all afternoon & then tonight we are going to Nathan & Sarah's home for supper- to celebrate Brayden's 10th Birthday! So it will be a fun evening with our family.

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

Check out this card, as it is one of the cards everyone will be making today.  It is with a NEW stamp set in the upcoming annual catalog called- 'Rooted in Nature'.  Oh, don't you just love the look of the leaved embossed onto the Champagne Foil Sheet.  It is pretty in the photo, but it is gorgeous in person!

And I'm off to finish cutting my 12 x12 Spring Sampler, get my car loaded & head out.

I have a great group of friends joining me to stamp today.  I just can't wait!!  They will be going home with lots of cards & a 12x12 framed sampler.  And it is especially exciting to have made several of  these projects with NEW products from the upcoming Annual Catalog that starts on June 1st!  When I attended On Stage earlier this month I got to pre-order some new things since I was an attendee at this event.  So I've had a great time getting to play & use new things for today's class.  And I can't wait to see & hear what everyone thinks of them.

And I'm especially excited that I have a special guest joining us at my Spring Fling for awhile today.  My dear demonstrator friend- Sharon McNeeley, from Indiana, will be coming to stamp with us for awhile today too.  We are super excited that she & her husband Mike, are making a special stop to visit Deke & I, on their way to a wedding that they are attending in Iowa later today.  Mike will drop Sharon off at my class & then head to our house to visit Deke.  Mike wants to check out our pigs,  see Nathan's race car & shop & then they'll go to see the boys play soccer for awhile too.  After that, Mike & Deke are coming to eat lunch with all of us at my Spring Fling.  As Deke & I made shredded pork, cheesy potoates & a layered lettuce salad last night for our lunch at my class today. Yummy!

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!!

The little Bitty Bow is a pre-tied one!  It is felt & super cute & easy to add that little extra touch.

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  I made a quick trip to the races & got there too late to even see Nathan's heat.  He got 2nd.  And I left the races as soon as the Stock Cars were done.  Nathan got 2nd in the main too!  He looked good for his first night out with that car.  The stands had a big crowd & the pits had a lot of cars in it.  It was great to see so many local people coming out to the Southern Iowa Speedway in Osky for their season opener race.  I hope he has a good race season again this year.

When I got home from the races, I burnt the midnight oil cutting card stock!!

We have a crazy day again.......and we are up early this morning & on the go.  Deke is off to chore & then be gone all day, as he has 4 meetings!!  He has 2 meetings this morning in Ottumwa.  One for 10-15 & then he'll have the RPA 15 Policy Board Meeting.  This afternoon he has an executive board meeting in Fairfield for Pathfinders.  And he'll have to hurry back to Sigourney for a 6:30 meeting at the Memorial Hall for a town meeting about RAGBRAI.  When he finally gets home he'll have to go out to chore & feed all of the pigs.  So he's gonna have a really long day today.
I'm going to try to get some more cardstock cut before I head out to Manda's home this morning.  I'll take the twins to school, run a couple of errands in town & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The 3 big boys will ride the bus here after school tonight too.  Manda has a late class tonight & Steve is working late on a paving project, so the boys will be hanging out with me for awhile.  I'll be burning the midnight oil again tonight cutting card stock!

I hope you have a great Thursday!!!
Happy Stamping!

'Southern Serenade'

This is a card that everyone joining this week/weekend to stamp for my monthly April classes will be making!  I think it turned out so pretty!  I forget how much I love coloring & using Watercolor Paper.  I need to use it more often.  It is just wonderful to work with!  And I love how the colors just blend into it!

To make this card I used the pretty 'Southern Serenade' stamp set on page 49 in the Occasions Catalog.  This stamp set is carrying over & it will be available in the NEW Annual Catalog that starts on June 1st.

Check out the neat brick link designer paper that I used.  It is from the Painted with Love Specialty Designer Paper on page 19 in the Occasions Catalog.

How did I do it?
  • I stamped the flowers/stamps onto Watercolor Paper, using the Black Memento Ink pad.
  • I colored the image by squished the lids of the Sweet Sugarplum & Wild Wasbi ink pads, picking the ink up off the lid top & coloring it with an Aqua Painter.
  • I used my Wink of Stella over the top of the flowers & added a few Pearls too to add some bling!

stamp sets:  'Southern Serenade' & 'A Good Day'
card stock:
  • Sweet Sugarplum-  5 1/2 x 8 1/2"; 2 3/4 x 3 3/4"; 2" strip- RETIRING
  • Berry Burst-  5 x 3 3/4"; 2" strip
  • Watercolor Paper- 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"

'Bird Banter'

OH what a cute little parrot!!  This is one of the cards that everyone stamping with me this week for my monthly April classes is making!  I used the adorable bird stamp set called 'Bird Banter'!

Isn't this a bright & cheery card!

How did I do the parrot?
  • I stamped the leaf/branch onto a strip of Whisper White card stock.
  • And then I stamped the parrot, so that he was standing on the branch.
  • I punched the parrot out using the 2" Circle Punch.
  • I stamped his tail onto a scrap piece of card stock & fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips & stuck it onto his with a glue dot.
NOTE:  I colored the parrot with my Stampin' Blends.  I know that many of my customers already have them.  They are amazing markers & I so love them!  Due to the high demand of them, they are currently not available to purchase.  Some of them will be available the first part of May, some the middle of May & hopefully all of them, PLUS LOTS more new colors will be available in the NEW Annual Catalog on June 1st!  So be sure to add them to your wish list!
I used 2 RETIRING colors here- Soft Sky & Tangerine Tango.  Don't they look great together!

stamp set:  'Bird Banter'-RETIRING
card stock:

Yesterday was a busy day!!  Since the weather was so crappy again- I kept the boys busy with a new playdough set that Trey had just gotten & tracing numbers/letters & shapes on their dry erase books.  Brayden was here after school.  So Susie's Hair Hut was open for business & Brayden & Papa both got short/summer hair cuts!  Hopefully tomorrow I can get a few more done- as the other 4 boys need it too.  I then worked on placing orders & catching up on emails & laundry.
This morning I'm up early to work on placing orders & will then head to town to get the boys & take them to school.  I'll spend my day with the 3 little ones.  I'll work on orders & stamping tonight when everyone has gone home.

An On Stage treat!

Here are the little treats that I made for my team that went to On Stage with me.   I put a package of gum inside of them.

I used my favorite 2017-2019 In Color- Lemon Lime Twist to make them.
I used the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch for the top & the bottom of it.

How did I do it?
  • It is an 8 1/2 x 2" piece of card stock.
  • Score it at 1", 4 & 4 1/2" from one end.
  • Punch both ends using the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch
  • I used a glue dot to hold one the tab down & adhered it using the Circle words.
  • I tied a 12" piece of ribbon around it (putting it under the tab).
  • DSP- 1 3/4" x 2 3/4"- to put on the front.
stamp set:  'A Good Day'
card stock:  Lemon Lime Twist, Very Vanilla, Basic Black
designer paper:  Eastern Palace Specialt
punches:   1 3/4" Circle, 1 3/8" Scalloped Circle, 1" Circle
ribbon:  1/4" Lemon Lime Twist
other:  dimensional, glue dot

My friend LeeAnn shared with me, a similar treat she had made & put a smaller candy bar in hers.  Thus the pocket wasn't as big as this one, so her measurements were different.  But she was my inspiration for this cute little treat holder!

Yesterday was a long day.  We woke up to snow again!!!

I got up early yesterday morning & finished getting everything all packed up & loaded into my car.  As i was headed out to N. Liberty for my monthly class there.  Kathy was our hostess this month!  She had a whole buffet of yummy food!  Even though the weather wasn't the best- we had a good crowd & a great time stamping together!

I stopped on my way home to pick up a pizza for our supper & Deke was just getting in when I pulled into the driveway!  I answered emails & got caught up on some paper work before calling it a night.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the office for a weekly board meeting.  I'm off to go pick up the boys, take the twins to school & spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The 3 big ones will be here after school.  And I'll place orders & do some stamping tonight when the kids have gone home.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

Good morning sunshine!  Wow- Check out some of nature's beauty here.  This is another beautiful card using the 'Waterfront' stamp set.  Every time I use this stamp set I'm just amazed at how easy it is to use & how cool the images in this set are.  And I'm in awhhh over the outcome.
Just look at the bright sun, blue sky & rolling hills here.  Neat huh!

Yesterday was a busy day with my kids.  When they left,  I hurried to finish getting the tables/chairs & projects all out for my stamp class.  I had a great group that joined me to stamp last night & we had a fun time visiting & stamping together.  When everyone was gone I made Deke some supper & went to ride in the tractor with him for a few rounds.  He burnt the midnight oil in the field again.  The weather said it was suppose to rain......but as of right now when I'm typing up this  post at 12:35 a.m- it still hasn't rained here yet.  So who ever knows what the weather is going to do.  I think it is all a guess that is often wrong.

Deke is up early this morning to chore & then he'd going to a equipment sale in Sigourney.  I'm getting everything all picked up, cleaned up & set up for my class I have this morning here.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone that is joining me!

I'll have the 3 Seeley boys for a couple of hours this morning too.  They then have a soccer game & pictures, so Deke will run them to that.

This afternoon I'll be cleaning up from this mornings class.  And packing everything up, as I have a class tomorrow in N. Liberty.  I have most of the cutting done.  I just need to do a little more Big Shot things & fold all of the card bases yet.  And I'm praying the weather is good so we can all stamp together!

Tonight we are suppose to go to a Rabgrai supper in Sigourney.  We'll see what the weather is like & how tired we are.  We haven't had much sleep this week & I would actually just like to stay home.  So that is what my vote is going to be for.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!

'Waterfront'

Well-  yesterday was an amazing SPRING like day- FINALLY!!!  The kids LOVED it & so did I.  We played outside yesterday a couple of different times, for a few hours.  It was wonderful to get out of the house & run off some energy.  They had FUN!  YEAH!!!!!!

So today's card is my spring sunset card, using the amazing 'Waterfront' stamp set!  How fun, easy & pretty this set is to use.  And the possibilities & results are endless!!
Honestly- this looks like my back road drive to Manda's house.  But I see the sun coming up every morning!  It reminds me of this photo!  I'll have to make a card & share it with that in mind sometime.

This just looks like it is a photo out of a book.  I love it!

stamp sets:  'Waterfront', 'Friendships Sweetest Thoughts' (words on front), 'High Tide' (birds)
card stock:
  • Old Olive- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"
  • Basic Black-  5 1/4 x 4"
  • Whisper White-  5 x 3 3/4" (x2)- for inside & outside of card
inks:  Black Memento, Old Olive, Cajun Crazy, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango
other:  Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals

So this card is my first attempt......I thought I got a little too much sponging in the sky.  So I wasn't going to share it, but decided I'd go ahead & show you anyways.  It is still pretty isn't it!  It is just a little darker in the sky.
+++++++
Yesterday was a busy & good day with all of the kids.  Deke worked in the filed again until after midnight.  And I burnt the midnight oil cutting card stock.

This morning Deke is up early to get chores done & head to the field to get as much done as he can before it rains today.  I'm up early to get some cleaning done before I head out the door to Manda's.  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  Tonight when the kids are gone I'll be hurrying to get tables, chairs & projects set up!  As I have stampin' at our home here tonight!!  I have a house full coming & I am looking forward to seeing everyone & stamping!  I have 6 super cute cards created!!  Woo hoo!!

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!
