  • I then used sponge daubers & ink pads & rubbed them in various spots, over the embossed planks.  I used- Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow, Crushed Curry, Blueberry Bushel & Soft Suede.  NOTE:  After I had the first 4 colors rubbed on- I lightly rubbed Soft Suede all over the entire card front.
  • I cut out the words- Happy" from the Happy Birthday Thinlits & adhered it to the front of the card.

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  The twins got out of school early at 1:30- so they were here all afternoon too.  Last night the Seeley & the Wood families were here for supper.  Nathan wanted Teets Taco's & I made him some Fudge Filled Oatmeal bars.  We played outside after supper & called it a night when it was almost dark.

This morning I'm up early to walk & head to town.  Trey has an early appointment in IC today to see an ENT about getting his tonsils out.  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.  Trey will be here later this morning & the twins will be here about 1:50 when the get here off of the school bus.  Brayden has an appointment in IC this afternoon with is dr for his diabetes.  So Masen & Ainslee will be here late.

Tonight when everyone goes home I'll be a stamping fool!

'Winter Woods' Sneak Peek!

OH WOW!!!!!  This card just turned out gorgeous!!!  I love it!!  And it was so easy to do!

I used the 'Winter Woods' stamp set & coordinating In The Woods Framelits that are available for you to order on September 5th when the NEW Holiday Catalog goes live!

Check out the snow along the bottom edge that I cut using the Sparkle Glimmer Paper & the snowline framelit that is part of the In The Woods Framelits!
The stars are the cool Twinkle Adhesive Backed Sequins.
And this card is a fun easel fold card!   Cool huh!

I used the Festive Farmhouse Designer Paper along the outside edges!

How did I do it???
#1.  I shadow stamped the tree 2 times onto a piece of Whisper White card stock- 3 3/4 x 3 3/4".
 #2.
  • I inked the stamp using Mossy Meadow.
  • I stamped off onto my grid paper.
  • Using a sponge dauber I added ink directly to the stamp in a few spots to make that area darker.
  • I then stamped the tree onto a crap piece of Whisper White card stock.
#3.  I cut out the tree using my Big Shot, Magnetic Platform & In the Woods Framelits!
#4.  This is what it looks like from the back side when it is all cut out!  Check out all of the layers!
#5.  Front the front side I "fluffed" up the branches.
#6.  I added mini dimensionals to the pieces that were cut, so that they would puff out when I mounted this tree.
#7.  I used my Aqua Painter & the Frost White Simmer Paint along the edges of all the cut pine pieces!
#8.  Using my Multipurpose Glue, I added a little along the the edges (over the Frost White Shimmer Paint).
#9.  I then dumped on some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter & tapped off the excess.
#10.  Using my Big Shot, Magnetic Platform & In The Wood Framelits- I cut the snow line, using my Sparkle Glimmer Paper- 3 3/4 x 1 1/4".

WOW- I love the added sparkle & glitter added to this tree!

So what do you think?  It is gorgeous huh!

We have had a wild past week here!  My mom fell a couple of times last week & got a concussion, hurt her shoulder & cut her knee.  Thankfully she is now doing better.  And then Deke's mom fell on Monday, went to the Sigourney hospital by ambulance, transferred to Mercy Hospital in Cedar Rapids & was in ICU.  She got transferred to a regular room late yesterday afternoon.  And we left to go see her as soon as the kid left late yesterday afternoon & got home after midnight.

Today Deke is up early to chore & head to Ottumwa to a meeting.  I'm up early to walk & head into town to get the Seeley boys.  Today is the first day of school!  So I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with Trey, Masen & Ainslee.

Today is Nathan's 34th birthday!!  So we have our whole family coming tonight for supper to celebrate his special day!

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a fantastic Thursday!!

This morning we are up early & I'll spend my day with all 6 kids again.  Tonight we are going to my friend Susan's to pick more tomatoes to can.  And we'll then just hang out with the kids when we get home.

Spotlighting with 'Peaceful Place'!

WOW- this is totally a Susie card!  I love it!

This is a great card for a guy, sympathy, bithday, etc......

So this is card turned out totally nothing like I had planned when I started creating it.  I knew I wanted to do that Spotlighting Technique with this stamp set- 'Peaceful Place', but I had planned on coloring the circle piece using my Stampin' Blends.  But when I decided to use the Nature's Poem DSP, I decided to just make this a monochromatic layout.
And it is a fun fold card too!!

This is another one of the cards that everyone attending my August monthly classes made with me this past week!

Look at the pretty leaf embellishment!!

And did you notice the knotted burlap?
How did I do it?
  • I cut a piece of burlap ribbon approx. 3 1/2" long, cut it in half the long way- making sure to cut along one of the strings.
  • I then tied it in a knot.
  • And then pulled apart & frayed the strings.
  • I added a glue dot to the back of the knot & attached it to the card.
  • Neat huh!

Yesterday was another great day of stamping!!!  I am just totally blessed with awesome friends that join me to stamp each month!  I so treasure the friendships & connections that I've developed by sharing my love of stamping over the past 17 years!

Kathy & Darla were awesome hostesses!!  They had great treats & were awesome helpers!  We were done stamping, packed up & cleaned up in good time!  And we had an awesome group of friends that joined us for either the morning or afternoon class.

I stopped at the grocery store on my way home.  And then picked up a Casey's Pizza for our supper.  When we got done eating, Susie's Hair Hut was open for business, as we went up to Nathan's & I got Deke & Nathan's hair cut in the shop (since it was cooler in there).  My weekend was jam packed full & I was just exhausted last night when I finally got to bed.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up early to walk & then head to town to pick up the 3 Seeley boys.  We'll come home & Sarah will bring the 3 Wood kid down......they'll all spend the day with us.  And today is going to be a busy day, as we get more baby piggies around noon today too!! So the kids will all go out to the farm & help us.  Hopefully it all goes well!
Tonight when the kids have all gone home I will be working on getting orders entered & hopefully get a little stamping done too before I go to bed.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

My whole weekend is pretty much stamping!!!!  I look forward to seeing & sharing with all of those joining me.  Last night I had a fun group that joined me at our home to stamp for one of my August monthly classes.  When they went home I burnt the midnight oil working on stamping stuff.
This morning I'm up to start the roaster of meat for Masen's party.  And bake a cake.  And then I have to finish cutting card stock for my morning class.......as I have a group of stampers joining me pretty soon for another August monthly class.  Then this afternoon at 1:00 I have some friends coming to visit me for a bit.  And then I'll finish getting the meat done, frost the cake, haul tables & chairs up to the Wood house & we're celebrating Masen's party tonight at their shop.

Tonight I'll be packing things up & finish cutting card stock for my 2 classes I have in Hiawatha tomorrow.  Darla & Kathy are my hostesses.  I look forward to seeing them, sharing & stamping!!

Gotta run......
I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!
