A Spooky Cat

I think that I am addicted to this cat punch, moon & fence combo!!  I have made several different cards using these together lately & I'll be sharing them with you in the next few weeks!

I had a team meeting last Saturday at our home & my downline- Lisa, shared how she cut a little strip of DSP & wrapped around the cats neck.  I loved her idea!!  So added that to my cat here.  I also added a black rhinestone in the middle of it- but it doesn't show up in the photo.  (BUMMER!)  But it adds a little bling in person.
Isn't this card/box just stinkin' adorable!!!  When we were in Thailand, a demonstrator friend- Sandy Carlson, shared a cute Christmas card with this gift box layout.  She also shared the dimensions- so I've been playing with this layout.  I have this Halloween card/box, along with one for fall & one for Christmas!  Plus one for a birthday too!  I'll be sharing these with you in the next few weeks too.

Updated- 9/7/17-
To see the Pokemon' card I made using this same box/card layout, ALONG WITH THE DIRECTIONS- including measurements & tutorial photos- CLICK HERE!!
http://stampwithsusie.blogspot.com/2017/09/pokemon-box-card.html
Look how the little box just sits into the card slot.  The card stands with with our without the box slid into it.  COOL HUH!!

NOTE:  I want to play & see if I can come up with a way to make the box & make it so that it will fold flat.  This card/box is not one that you could mail, you'd have to give it to the recipient in person.  If I come up with a way to do it, I'll be sure to share it!

stamp sets:  'Garden Girl'- for the fence
card stock:  Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake
designer paper:  Spooky Nights
ink:  Black Memento
other:   Paper Snips (to fussy cut out the fence & the hat), Black Rhinestone, Cat Punch, 2 1/4" Circle Punch, Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Card Front Builder Thinlits, dimensionals, Glue Dots, Black Baker's Twine, Scoring Tool, Tape & Tear, Paper Trimmer
***I will get pictures taken,  along with measurements on how to make this card/box when I post the birthday one I made this weekend.

'Merry Cafe'

Check it out!!  Here is a new stamp set called 'Merry Cafe' & it is in the upcoming Holiday Catalog that goes live on September 1st!
If you looked at my blog yesterday you saw the card I made for Nathan's birthday.  You can see it by CLICKING HERE!

So I used the same DSP (Coffee Break), same colors & same layout & made this card.  This DSP is actually the opposite side of the DSP piece that I used on Nathan's card!
I cut a 4x6" piece of DSP into 3 different sized strips.
I used it on the outside, the inside pocket & along the edge too!
  •  2 3/4"- for the outside
  • 2 1/4"- for the inside pocket
  • 1"- for the edge
Here is the pocket on the inside!  I used the new Everyday Label Punch on the inside, for the pocket.  This punch is in the upcoming Holiday Catalog & it will be available to purchase on September 1st!
I think this card turned out pretty cute didn't it!!

Did you notice the stir stick framelit cut out  (from the Coffee Cups Framelits) that I used on the pull tab & the little coffee (or tea) cup!

Here are the measurements & the supplies I used for this card.
stamp sets:  'Stylized Birthday' & 'Merry Cafe'- available September 1st
card stock:

  • Sahara Sand- 4 1/4 x 11- score at 2 1/2" & 5 1/2"for the card base; 3" x 3 1/4"; scrap for oval on the cup & the stir sticks

A fun day at Adventureland!!

Our family had a fun day at Adventureland today!!  We were all suppose to go on Sunday, July 23rd, but didn't all make it.  That was the morning that Brody had his accident & we spent our day at the hospital.  So we surprised the boys this morning- they didn't know we were going!  It sprinkled on us a little when we first got there.  But the rest of the day was perfect weather & it was too crowded!  It was just a perfect day!!  And the boys were all so good!  We had lots of laughs & tons of fun together!

Here are the boys- Masen, Brody, Trey, Drake & Brayden.

Brody, Brayden, Drake, Sarah, Masen & Nathan....going on the rafting ride.

Nathan's Birthday card!

Here is the card that I made for Nathan's birthday last week!

I used the 'Stylized Birthday' stamp set, along with the star from the 'Wood Words' stamp set.

This is a fun fold card.....that I made a pocket in.  Inside the pocket you could add a little gift- cash or a gift card.
Here are the measurements & the supplies I used for this card.
stamp sets:  'Stylized Birthday' & 'Wood Words'
card stock:
  • Sahara Sand- 4 1/4 x 11- score at 2 1/2" & 5 1/2"for the card base; 3 3/4" x 3 1/2"
  • Early Espresso- 3 1/2" x 3 1/4", 2" strip for circle punch
  • Very Vanilla- 3" x 2 3/4"; 2" strip for circle punch, 4 x 5 1/4" for inside of the card
designer paper:
  • Coffee Break DSP- 4x6"= cut at 2 3/4"; 2 1/4" & 1"
ink:  Early Espresso
other:  1 1/4" Circle Punch, 1 1/2" Circle punch, dimensionals, Tear & Tape, Everyday Label Punch- available September 1st
Check out the little inside pocket I made. I used the Tear & Tape along the edges to hold it secure.
Before I folded the pocket over & stuck it to the Tear & Tape, I used the Everyday Label Punch- (NEW- available September 1st in the Holiday Catalog) & created a little notch, like shown in the photos.

You can slide in your gift of cash or a gift card into the pocket.
I stamped the stars & a greeting on the inside of the card too.

AND check out the DSP.  It is on the outside, the inside pocket & along the edge too!
It is a strip- 4x6.  I cut it into 3 different lengths.
  •  2 3/4"- for the outside
  • 2 1/4"- for the inside pocket
  • 1"- for the edge

'Sharing Sweet Thoughts'

These are cute little lady bugs.  They are in the Ronald McDonald stamp set- 'Sharing Sweet Thoughts'!  I've shared several different cards using this stamp set over the past month.  It is a pretty cool set, with lots of different options!

When you purchase this stamp set, Stampin' Up! will donate $3.00 to the Ronald McDonald Foundation.

If you put the name 'Sharing Sweet Thoughts' into the Search This Blog bar, along the right edge of my blog- you'll see the other cards I've made & posted using this cool stamp set!
This was one of the card that everyone joining me at my August stamp classes made.  It is a fun fold card!!  I've done dutch fold cards at the bottom before, but never in the middle......but thought this turned out neat.

Check out how I used the Pretty Label Punch, folded it in half, wrapped it around the edge of the flap & added a Perfect White Accent (that I colored Black with a Black Sharpie Marker) to it.  This just made a cute accent to the card front & also gave you a type of 'pull' to open the card from.
See how the front middle opens up!  Cute huh!!
This black wrap, around the card is a 2 1/2" x 8 1/2".  I folded it in half.  I then adhered it to the actual back side of the card.

I made a cute Halloween card using this same fold & I'll be sharing that with you later next week!  So be sure to check back by to see it!

A test tube Halloween Treat!!

Here is a peek at some NEW products that will be available in the upcoming Holiday Catalog that you can purchase on September 1st.

Many of you know that I love Halloween!  And I just couldn't wait to get to play with some of the new Halloween things.  It was fun coming up with this holder for these Treat Tubes!

I hold a Halloween Treats class each year & I created a double test tube treat holder for it!  I'll be sharing a photo of it in the next couple of weeks!  It is pretty cool too!
But isn't this just so cute!!!

Lots of new things:
  • designer paper-Spooky Nights DSP
  • punch- Everyday Label Punch
  • test tube holders- Treat Holders
  • black rhinestones
  • stamp set- 'Festive Phrases'
Here is a side view of it!  It stands up good.  And I made an insert in the bottom/inside to hold the test tube in place too!
I will share measurements & more information on this sometime.....as right now I just have them scribbled on a piece of paper.  This is one of the projects that I'm using as one of my make & takes for my Iowa Inkers Team meeting that I'm hosting at our house this Saturday!  So stay tuned.

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a great Thursday!

4th grade

Image may contain: 1 person, smiling, standing, outdoor and nature
I can't believe that Brayden is in 4th grade this year!!
He has grown so much.....(gonna be taller than Grandma soon).
Here he is waiting to get on the school bus.
And he is all smiles!!
I'm so glad that our boys like school so much!

'Painted Harvest'

This is a new stamp set called 'Painted Harvest' that is in the upcoming Holiday Catalog.  It is a fun 2 step stamping set. I've been creating cards using it & lovin' it.
Clean & simple it is.....a fun fall card!  These are just such pretty flowers!

stamp set:  'Painted Harvest'
card stock:  Crumb Cake, Whipser White
ink:  Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Garden Gree
other:  NEW Jute Twine, Dimensionals, Glue Dot

This card is my first attempt as using this stamp set.  It is a photopolymer set & there is a way to line it up.....it just took me a little a few time to find the correct alignment.  So the centers of these flowers aren't lined up perfectly, but they still look ok.  I'll post some more cards I've made using this stamp set sometime soon.

'Confetti Celebration'

Check it out!  This is the birthday card that I made for Masen.  He turned 2 last week!

The theme for his party was Paw Patrol.  I made the invites for his party.  You can see them BY CLICKING HERE!
I used the same out for his birthday card as I did for his invitations.  I just added the words & the balloons to it.

I wanted the balloons to be red, yellow & blue.  Look closely at the dots on the Pacific Point Balloon here.  I used the Birthday Memories DSP and then I colored over the dots, using a Real Red Marker!  COOL HUH!  And so easy to do!  Check out the picture below!

NOTE:  The paw prints are from an old retired set called 'Button Bear' that I have from years ago!
