Check out these little pumpkins!

Check out these little pumpkins!  They hold 2 chocolate nuggets.  Aren't they cute!

Dawn shared this while we were in Wisconsin last weekend with all of us to make.   I am not sure where Dawn found the idea, but I know my friend BJ has made them & posted them.  I just think they are adorable!!  They are just a fun little Halloween Treat!

I sure enjoyed my day with all of my boys yesterday!  I know that G'ma missed them.  I think they missed me too!  They were so good all day long!  We played outside alot.  It was a beautiful fall day!!

When the boys all went home last night..... I then burnt the midnight oil catching up on laundry & farm bookwork.  Deke had his weekly board meeting in the morning, came home for lunch & to chore & then head out to another meeting in Fairfield last night, so it was late when he got home.

I'm off this morning to go pick up all of the boys & take Brayden to school.  I'm hoping the weather is nice again & we can play outside again.  Tonight when the boys leave I'm a farmer- helping Deke sort pigs.  I hope to get to do some stamping too before I go to bed.

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Happy Stamping!

Designer Papers on SALE this month!

Home Sweet Home!

I got home last night!!  I had a great time in Door County with some dear friends, seeing some of the beautiful sites & doing lots of stamping!!

You all know I love fall!!  And each year I add fall things to our yard.   Deke & I did this a couple of weeks ago & some of you have asked what my fall decorations look like & wanted me to share photos with you!!

Well- here is our home all decorated for fall!  I hung corn on all of the fence posts & have little pumpkins sitting on top of each fence post too!
Check out our old scarecrow, cornstalk husk, corn & pumpkins along our fence.

The scarecrow has an old pair of my Grandpa Cox's bib overalls on & the hankie around his neck was my dads.
And here is a close up of our family room door & our new new brick!  We just love it & are so happy we did it!  I searched high & low for the right brick & we looked at LOTS of different brick homes the past 4 months- trying to find the perfect one for us.  I wanted it to look 'old' & match the stained siding we have from when we built our home 23 years ago.  Ben (our brick layer) did a great job making it look like it has always been there from the beginning when our home was built.  Check out how he did the "Soldier" layout along the top of the brick.

The bottom 3 feet of our siding & sheeting were rotten & had to be replaced.  We checked into replacing it last fall, but it was going to cost more than we had in our budget to be able to do.  We had put a brick ledge in when we built our home & a family friend (Ben) is a farmer & a brick layer & he offered to do it for us.  Boy are we glad we waited & had him brick it instead of just replacing the rotten siding.  As we spent less than 1/2 of what the bid was we got last fall for putting a fake stone siding on it.

The brick layer is all finished laying the brick....but the house is not all done.  We are waiting on the carpenter to come back to finish up some trim around the doors & put my storm door back on & then caulk around all of the windows.  And the brick layer has to come back & caulk between the brick & the siding.  And I have to re-paint the porch & then I'm going to put another coat of stain on the top part (siding) of our house.  Hopefully we get this all done before it gets too cold out.  We'll see if it all gets done or not!   It might not all happen until Spring!

We love how it all turned out though!!  And I can't wait until it is all completely done!

Cute gift bag!

Check out the cute gift I made for a friend using a Glassine Bag!

I had a full day with all 4 boys yesterday.  We did fun things with coloring spiders, bats & Halloween things.  They just love to color & cut!  Drake discovered Glue Dots yesterday too!  Oh my gosh....he loves tape & now love Glue Dots better!  It was so cute to see them using them on their projects.  When the boys were all gone last night I burnt the midnight oil stamping!!

Today is going to be a really long day.....as we're up early this morning & are headed out to load hogs.  The semi will be here about 5:30 a.m.  So yep- I'm a farmer again this morning helping Deke.

Then Deke will chore & head to the office for the morning.  I'm off to go get the boys up, fed & ready for school.  I'll take the twins to pre-school & then Trey, Masen & I will head home to our house.  I'll be packing & getting things ready to leave at  noon.  Deke will be keeping the 2 boys for me for the afternoon.  I'm headed to Wisconsin for the next 5 days with 6 demonstrator friends.  We're going to be doing lots of stamping & enjoying the beautiful fall colors at Door County.  I have never been there before & it has been on my bucket list for years.  I'm excited & I can't wait!  I know I'll come home with tons of new ideas & things to share with all of you!

NOTE:  I just wanted you to know that I will not have internet access while I'm gone, so I will not have access to my email & I will not be posting anything after today on my blog until next Monday- 10/3.  We get home late on Sunday night & I'll get back on track to doing my daily posts next week.

A little Skelton- 'Cookie Cutter Halloween'

Here is the last of my Halloween Treats to share.   It is a pocket treat holder.....you just slide your candy (or gift) into it.

I fussy cute out this little skeleton, as I thought he was too fat without trimming him down.

Check out his eyes.  I used the Perfect White Accents & a sharpie black marker to make him have googly eyes.

Stampin' Up!- Some little pumpkins!

This is a quick & fun Halloween card!

I think this little spider is just adorable!  And how can you go wrong using the Banner Triple Punch, as it is one of my favorite punches ever!
I stamped the pumpkins in Black Stazon directly onto the white banner.  I then stamped the pumpkins again onto a scrap piece of Pumpkin Pie card stock & cut it out with the framelit.

Yesterday was a busy day with the boys.  We were outside for a couple of hours in the morning.  We picked corn from the field & the boys had a blast playing in the field.  I loved hearing them squeal & have play!  We got the corn all tied together & hung on our fence.

When the boys went home I worked on stamping stuff until Deke got in.  We then made a quick trip to pick pumpkins & cut down cornstalks in the field.  Our yard is all decked out for fall now!  Now I just wish the porch was painted & the landscaping was all finished.  Somehow, someday we'll get that done.  We worked in the yard until it was too dark to do any more & came in for a late supper.  I then burnt the midnight oil cutting card stock.

This morning I'm off to go pick up the boys.  I'll take the twins to pre-school & Trey will spend the day with me here.   I'll be cutting card stock every spare minute I have all day & all night, getting everything ready for my weekends Halloween Treats classes.

Deke is home to work on the farm all day.  He'll take hogs to the locker & work on powerwashing.

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

This morning Deke is off early to chore & head to Ottumwa for 2 meetings he has there today.  I'm off early to go pick up the boys for the day.  Tonight when they all go home I'll be burning the midnight oil cutting card stock for my upcoming Halloween Treats classes.

Stampin' Up!- 'Acorny Thank You'

Look at these acorns!  What a fun fall card this is!

This card was one from my September monthly card classes!  I love it when there is a punch that goes with a stamp set!  If you look closely at the Delightful Dijon Acorn, I did the faux suede technique on it.

How do you do that?
  • I punch out the acorn.
  • I wadded it up into a ball like I was throwing it away....the more you wad it the better.
  • I then opened it up & smoothed it all out.  It works best if you use a bone folder to do this or your finger nail.
  • The more you stress the card stock, the better it is.  You are just trying to break the fibers down.
  • Then I find a spot along the edge of the cardstock acorn that I've stressed & I carefully pull it apart- making 2 acorns.  The inside of this stressed card stock is rough & gives you a faux suede feel & look.
stamp set:  'Acorny Thank You'
card stock:  Delightful Dijon, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
designer paper: Maraccan Designer Paper (12x12)

Last night when the boys all went home Deke & I worked in the yard again until about 9 & then came in for a late supper.  I then worked on bookwork until about midnight.

This morning Deke is off early to chore & head to the office for a meeting.  I'm off to go pick up the boys.  We'll take the twins to school & then the other boys & I will head out home for the day.  We have tons more to get done in the yard....we'll see if I can get anything done while they play.

Tonight we will hopefully get to go to Brayden's football game (depending on what time the semi gets here).  And then head home to spend the night outside on the farm with the piggies, as tonight is my farmer night!

I hope I have some energy when I get in tonight from the farm, as I need to cut card stock!  This weekend I'm having my 2 Halloween Treats classes & I have alot I need to get done for them!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!
