Yesterday was another early & busy day with the kids.  We played outside for awhile in the morning & enjoyed the beautiful weather.

Last night when the kids went home I worked on stamping stuff!

This morning I'm up early to walk & head to Manda's, as she has to leave early again today.  The 3 Wood kids will be here as soon as I can get back from town too.  They will be staying with us from today through the weekend, as Nathan & Sarah are going to be gone for her work.  Tonight Brayden has football practice.  And we'll just go with the flow & see what all we end up doing or getting done today/tonight.

I hope you have a special Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

Yesterday was a LONG day.........it started out with a short night on Monday night & an early morning yesterday selling hogs!  And then the kids were all here all day!  We had a fun time celebrating Masen's official 3rd birthday!  He got his crispix (wood cake) from Grandma & a super cute dinosaur card (made with a retired stamp set.)  I had a big Balloon on the door with a #52 race car, a birthday banner & streamers hanging in the door!  He was all smiles when he walked in the door! They boys played outside for a while too, running off some energy!

Last night I worked on stamping stuff!  And finally called it a night about 11.  I was beat & couldn't think straight enough to accomplish anything more for the day.

This morning we are up early.  Deke will chore & head to courthouse & then to Ottumwa.  I'm off to walk & be at Manda's early to get the boys.  I'll hurry home to be here so Sarah can drop off their 3. We plan to play outside again, enjoying our last days of summer vacation!

Gotta run......
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!

Yesterday was another BUSY & wild day at the Wood home!!  All 6 kids were here & we got baby piggies in.

Image may contain: shoes and outdoor
Check out the picture of their boots, all sitting on our porch afterwards........they all had to take their clothes off outside & in we went for baths (or showers).  I had a whole washer full of dirty chore clothes & then another whole load of wet towels to wash too!!  It was all just a priceless day!

When the kids went home last night I burnt the midnight oil & worked on placing orders, answering emails & doing more laundry!

It was a short night........ as we are up at 5:00 this morning to mark, sort & sell hogs!!  I'll hurry in the house & get ready for all 6 kids to join me again today!!  Tonight when they go home I'll be working on stamping stuff- connecting with my hostesses & hopefully doing a little creating too!

Spotlighting with 'Peaceful Place'!

WOW- this is totally a Susie card!  I love it!

This is a great card for a guy, sympathy, bithday, etc......

So this is card turned out totally nothing like I had planned when I started creating it.  I knew I wanted to do that Spotlighting Technique with this stamp set- 'Peaceful Place', but I had planned on coloring the circle piece using my Stampin' Blends.  But when I decided to use the Nature's Poem DSP, I decided to just make this a monochromatic layout.
And it is a fun fold card too!!

This is another one of the cards that everyone attending my August monthly classes made with me this past week!

Look at the pretty leaf embellishment!!

And did you notice the knotted burlap?
How did I do it?
  • I cut a piece of burlap ribbon approx. 3 1/2" long, cut it in half the long way- making sure to cut along one of the strings.
  • I then tied it in a knot.
  • And then pulled apart & frayed the strings.
  • I added a glue dot to the back of the knot & attached it to the card.
  • Neat huh!

Check out the supplies & the measurements below-
'Peaceful Place'- #146686 (w)= $30.00 or #146689 (c)= $22.00- pg. 59

Yesterday was another great day of stamping!!!  I am just totally blessed with awesome friends that join me to stamp each month!  I so treasure the friendships & connections that I've developed by sharing my love of stamping over the past 17 years!

Kathy & Darla were awesome hostesses!!  They had great treats & were awesome helpers!  We were done stamping, packed up & cleaned up in good time!  And we had an awesome group of friends that joined us for either the morning or afternoon class.

I stopped at the grocery store on my way home.  And then picked up a Casey's Pizza for our supper.  When we got done eating, Susie's Hair Hut was open for business, as we went up to Nathan's & I got Deke & Nathan's hair cut in the shop (since it was cooler in there).  My weekend was jam packed full & I was just exhausted last night when I finally got to bed.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  I'm up early to walk & then head to town to pick up the 3 Seeley boys.  We'll come home & Sarah will bring the 3 Wood kid down......they'll all spend the day with us.  And today is going to be a busy day, as we get more baby piggies around noon today too!! So the kids will all go out to the farm & help us.  Hopefully it all goes well!
Tonight when the kids have all gone home I will be working on getting orders entered & hopefully get a little stamping done too before I go to bed.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

'Painted Glass'

Happy Thursday!!

Today I'm sharing a fun card I created last month for a group of my stampers.  I used the Suite- 'Painted Glass' stamp set, coordinating Stained Glass Framelits & Graceful Glass vellum.  Isn't it just so pretty!

Check out the cool punch!  It is from the Darling Label Punch Box- on page 209 in the Annual Catalog.  You'll have to look it up!  It comes in a cute tin box, along with a clear block, 6 photopolymer stamps & 2 ink spots!

I used my Embossing Mats & a framelit to do the bottom of this card front.
How did I do the 3 images?
  • Punched out 3 shapes from Whisper White card stamp.
  • Punched out 3 shapes from the Graceful Glass vellum & adhered these together with a glue dot in the center (so it wouldn't show after I put the images on).
  • Stamped 2 image each of the bird, rose & butterfly onto Whisper White card stock.
  • I colored them using my Light & Dark Poppy Parade & the Dark Pineapple Punch- Stampin' Blends.
  • I then used my Big Shot, Magnetic Platform & the coordinating framelits to cut out these 3 images.
  • Using Dimensionals, I popped ups these 3 images & put them onto the punched out pieces.
stamp set:  'Painted Glass'
card stock:  Pineapple Punch, Poppy Parade, Basic Black, Whisper White
designer paper:  Graceful Glass
ink:  Black Memento
Stampin' Blends:  Light & Dark Poppy Parade, Dark Pineapple Punch, Color Lifter

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  When they went home last night I stamped.  We had the Seeley family & the Wood family stopped down for about 45 mins to visit & the kids played outside.  We hunted for toads & lighting bugs!  When they went home I burnt the midnight oil stamping!

This morning I'm up early to walk & get ready for the kids to get here early.  Manda & her boys will come out later today to help me.  She is going to stay here with Masen & Ainslee & her 3 boys- as I'm a farmer for awhile!  We have new baby piggies coming, so I'll go out to help Deke with them for a few hours.

Tonight I'll be burning the midnight oil cutting card stock!

This is a clean & simple card.  But it was a fun one that I did at my last team meeting.  I did the the circle stamping (also called round to round).  I used my Stamparatus & stamped the flowers in the circle layout.

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  Last night I went to town to water Manda's plants & get their mail.  And then I worked on orders & bookwork.  I made a quick (late night trip) to What Cheer to make a night deposit & finally called it a night around 11:00.  Not getting any sleep last weekend was catching up with me.

This morning I'm up early to walk & spend my day with 2 Wood kids.  The Seeley family is home from their vacation, so I'll see them sometime today too for a bit.  Tonight I'll be finishing up placing orders & connecting with my hostess.  And I hope I have time to stamp for my upcoming team meeting that I have on Saturday afternoon!

Have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!

More- Blended Seasons

Are you tired of seeing different projects the past week that I created with this awesome- Color Your Season Bundle?  They are all different!!  Isn't it amazing the variety & the versatility there is in this Bundle!

You can CLICK here to read more about this LIMITED TIME ONLY bundle- Color Your Season!

Wow- this card doesn't have much stamping on it!  It is lean & simple.  But it give a totally different look to this Color Your Season Bundle, doesn't it!

You can't tell by the photo, but I embossed the Granny Apple Green with the Subtle's Embossing Folder.  It gives a linen like/cheese cloth texture.

I used the SPECIAL BUNDLE for this card!

The flower/leaves are from the Stitched Seasons Framelits.  And the words are from the Blended Seasons stamp set.
How did I do it?
  • I cut the flowers/leaves out of the Whisper White card stock.
  • I used the negative image of this & put a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock behind it.

Yesterday was a great day of stamping with everyone that joined me!! Teri had yummy treats, we stamped cute cards & had a wonderful time visiting!  And to top it off, everyone left the class with their NEW Holiday Catalog in their hands!

I stopped & picked up a Casey's pizza for our supper on my way home last night & then unloaded my car load of stamping stuff after we ate.  Deke & I ended up watching a movie & called it a night.

This morning we are up early.  Deke will chore & then head to the courthouse for his weekly board meeting.  He'll work on the farm this afternoon, chore again & then head to Fairfield to a meeting down there he has tonight.

I'm gonna walk, move all of the stamping stuff (unloaded from my Traverse) that is sitting all over the family room & get ready to spend my day with Masen & Ainslee.  Tonight when they go home I'm stamping!!  I have the projects created for my monthly classes, I just need to get the supplies all cut.  I have projects to create & cut for my team meeting I have coming up.  Our week is just jam packed!! I pray I can get everything done.  I have the 2 kids every day, we sell hogs early one morning, get baby piggies in on Thursday & I have 5 stamp classes to get ready for that I have- a monthly class here on Friday night; a monthly class here on Saturday morning; a team meeting here on Saturday afternoon & then I'm in CR all day on Sunday for my morning & afternoon monthly classes there.  Plus we have to squeeze in Masen's birthday party that we have on Saturday night- which includes cooking a roaster of pork for & baking a couple of chocolate sheet cakes too!

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

  • I used the bow frameit & Cherry Cobbler card stock & cut out another bow.
  • Using the Fine Tip Glue I layered & attached the 2 bows
This is clean, simple & so pretty!  I just love the way it turned out!

More- Blended Season

This is a fun Christmas card using the 'Blended Season' stamp set & coordinating Stitched Seasons framleits.  This stamp set & framelits are available in a BUNDLE!

I used the #2 Assortment Watercolor Pencils to color the Holly & the Leaves.

How did I do the bow?
  • I used the bow framelit & the Embossing Mats to do the bow.
  • I had to use my Paper Snips & fussy cut around the outside edge of it.
How did I do the holly berries?
  • I used the framelits & cut the leaves out of the Garden Green.
  • I then used the same framelit & cut just the berries out the Cherry Cobbler & snipped them off (so I just had the tiny berry part) using my Paper Snips.
  • I used my Fine Tipped Glue to attach the berries to the leaves.
I also used my Fine Tip Glue over the top of the colored berries to make them shinny!  Just be sure you let them dry for about 30 mins before you touch them or anything so that it doesn't get smeared.

Look at the ends of the strip in the center of the card that has the holly & berries on it.  Check out the Garden Green ends.  I used the REVERSE piece of the framelit to make these.

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  We went up to my mom's home to visit her, my step-dad Dick,  Aunt Virginia, Uncle Larry & cousin Le.  Uncle Larry & Le came down from McGregor to visit & bring LOTS of quilts that my Aunt Anita had made.  She passed away earlier this year & he is cleaning closets.  Oh my gosh......I am blessed!!  I got several of them.....so finished & some not finished...I will treasure them forsure.

Last night the guys went racing.  I wanted to go, but knew I had too much I had to get caught up on her at home.  Nathan won his heat & he won the main too!!!  Yeah!!

Today I'm home (alone I think) & will be stamping all day!  I hope I have good mojo!

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!
Happy Stamping!

More- Color Your Season Bundle!

It is FABULOUS Friday & I have a pretty card for you!

Those of you that know me, know that I LOVE fall!!

This is a clean & simple card, but I love the way it turned out!  It is a totally Susie card.

How did I do it?
  • I stamped the leaves onto the Whisper White card stock using my Black Stazon pad.
  • Then using Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze & Old Olive & a separate sponge for all 3 colors- I lightly sponged the colors in various places to add color.  I tapped, tapped, tapped- LIGHTLY!
TIP:  Notice how the ink almost has little dots like......so it is important to make sure you lightly tap, tap, tap & don't push or rub or your color will turn out alot darker.
HERE IS ANOTHER TIP:
I didn't want my leaf to be all the way cut out.  So I CAREFULLY added a few dimensionals on the backside of the leave BEFORE I removed it from the framelit!  That way it would keep all of the pieces inside the leaf instead of them being cut out.

stamp set: 'Blended Season'
card stock:  Old Olive, Cajun Craze, Whisper White
ink:  Black Stazon, Old Olive, Cajun Craze & Crushed Curry
other:  Big Shot, Standard Platform, Stitched Seasons Framelits, Old Olive ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dot, Sponge

Yesterday was a busy day with kids.  In the morning, Brayden spent several hours outside helping Deke move feeder pigs out the nurseries & into the outside lot building.  Brayden was excited & Deke was happy to have the help.  So Ainslee & Masen went with me & we ran errands in town.  Then yesterday afternoon we enjoyed the nice weather again outside.  And when the kids went home I spent my night working on stamping stuff.

This morning I'm up early to walk & will then spend my day with the kids.  My uncle Larry is coming to visit all of us at my mom's later this morning.  He lives in McGregor & we only get to see him a few times a year.  So the kids & I run up there to visit for awhile.

I'm not sure what we will end up doing tonight.  I need to stay home & stamp.  But Nathan wants to go to Columbus Junction & race.......so we'll see how our day goes & if Deke gets done moving pigs in time I might end up going with everyone.  We haven't raced there all yet & I really don't want to miss it.

Gotta run.......
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!
