A cool 'By the Tide' card.....

Good morning!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!
We had a nice, but really busy weekend.
I didn't get much stamping done except for the Father's Day card that I shared yesterday.
So today I'm sharing a cool card that I took a picture of on our display board in Fiji.
I have no clue who created this card- but she did an awesome job!
I love the way the coloring was done.
I assume it is stamped with Black Stazon onto watercolor paper & then colored by squishing the ink pads & coloring with aqua painter.
But I honestly don't know- I'm just guessing.

We enjoyed a busy afternoon/evening yesterday with our kids here for supper & playing outside.
Brayden learned to hit the ball off the "T" really good.
He should be a good ball player as his mom & Uncle Bryce are very good ball players!
Brayden ended up talking his dad into letting him stay all night.
We are getting ready for breakfast here soon.
He has his first swim lessons this morning, so that is new & exciting!
I am hoping it works out for us to meet Aunt Manda & the twins & play in the park afterwards.

Papa is choring now & will be headed to the office today for meetings.
Guess the guys will have a late night in the shop.
I'm off on my stamp delivery run this evening.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

Happy Father's Day!!

Here is a quick guy card that made last night for Father's Day!
I am really liking the new Smoky Slate Neutrals color.
And how about this new Star stamp set!
'Simply Stars' & 'Delightful Dozen'
cs:  Basic Gray, Whisper White, Smoky Slate
ink:  Smoky Slate & Basic Gray
supplies:  This & That Washi Tape, Paper Snips, Extra Large Oval punch, dimensionals,
Merry Minis punch pack- small star punch (this is a carry over item & still available)

Today is a bitter sweet day........
Today is not only Father's Day, but it is also my dad's birthday.
AND it is also the 7th anniversary of his death.
So today is a very sad day too!
OH how we MISS MY DAD SO MUCH!
He was an amazing man!
He knew everyone, he could fix anything, he was hard working, he loved to have fun- laughing & smiling all of the time, he was an avid racing fan of Nathan's
& he was always there for us- anytime we needed anything!
He would have LOVED all of our little boys- Brayden, Brody, Drake
& my great nephew Lawson.
It is so sad that they never got to know him.
But they all know him by his picture & because we talk about him often.
Brayden knows alot about his Papa John.
He know what kind of foods my dad liked, what his favorite color was, some of his favorite songs & sayings, etc, etc, etc.....
I love it when Brayden talks about Papa John.
It just melts my heart!
(This photo was taken at the races 3 days before my dad died.)
So today is a CELEBRATION for all of the dad's out there.
We are thankful for the dads in our lives-
my Dad, Deke, Nathan, Steven, my Uncle Jerry, my step father Dick
& my father-in-law David.

Last night Deke & I took my Aunt Virginia out for supper as she will be celebrating a birthday soon.
Then Manda, Steve & the twins came out to visit us.
Today I'm going to do some cleaning & bookwork.
Then our kids are coming here to eat supper with us!
Yeah- we got Deke a new grill, as our old one is literally rusted out & falling apart.
So we'll be cooking marinated tenderized ham steaks on it.
 Yum- Yum!

I hope you enjoy your day by either spending it with the special dads in your life
or remembering your dad on this special dad's day!

Happy Stamping!

I enjoyed a fun day with the boys again yesterday!
Brayden & Aunt Kathy stopped to visit us too.
The boys are ALL 3 so sweet!
And they all love each other so much.
It is cute to watch them when they are all together.

Nathan got 3rd last night in Columbus Junction after getting caught up in 2 wrecks & having to go to the back both times.
Thankfully nothing was tore up.
Brayden got to go with all of the guys again racing!
He is getting to be quite the shop rat & knows alot about his daddy's race car!
It is great that he is spending the time with his dad & both Grandpa's, plus Uncle Steve & Josh too.
He was exhausted though......and fell asleep on the top of the trailer.
What a precious picture!
Photo: All raced out! How precious
I am home today!!
I think- all day!!
I have LOTS to do on my day "off'".

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!!

A fun 'Chalk Talk' card

Good morning!
Here is another quick post.
I'll update this with a supply list at another time.
Been a crazy week......
Took Brody to the dr yesterday & he does have ear infection & tonsillitis.
His dr put him on some high powered meds, so hoping he is eating & sleeping better soon.
This card was created by my demonstrator friend Christy Kimball for our downline meeting swap.
Isn't it FUN!
Love of punches & textures going on in this modern style card.
She used the new set- 'Chalk Talk' & the coordinating framelits for it!
Isn't it neat how she used all of the squares!

The guys all raced last night & us girls stayed home.

I did paper work all night long, for over 6 hours & I'm still not caught up yet!
Nathan got 6th (started 7th).
Deke said it was a rough track & no passing
Bummer, but at least he didn't get torn up.

They are going racing again tonight- but again- us girls are staying home.
Hopefully they have better luck tonight.
I am hoping to spend my night stamping in my studio!
Woo Hoo!

Today is another early day with the boys.
I'm headed to the Seeley home soon, so Manda doesn't have to wake them up too early.
Brody slept all night!!!
Meds are amazing!

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!
Happy Stamping!

Good morning!
Here is a super cute Washi Tape card that my demonstrator friend- Sally Davis made for our downline meeting.
It uses the new This & That Washi Tape.
Making a candle with it is such a cleaver idea.

I will type up a supply list sometime.
We had a late night of racing last night & an early start to our morning with the boys here all day.
Manda has classes all day today & tomorrow.

Have a great Thursday!
Happy Stamping!

WooHOO! A great win for Nathan tonight!

A packed grandstand & an awesome night of racing!!
So proud of Nathan.
 Great win tonight!!!
Grandpa John (my dad) would have been so proud too!
I'm sure he was smiling from heaven!
It was 7 years ago tonight that Nathan won & the last race that Grandpa John was ever physically there with us!
I am so glad that so many in our family were sitting together to cheer Nathan on tonight!!

Check out this new clay rose!

Good morning!
Here is a cute 2,4,6,8 box that everyone at my Open Houses got to create.
I wanted them to be able to make the pretty rose in the center of the flower with the new clay!!
Oh my gosh......I can't say enough good about this new product.
I LOVE IT!
And the ladies at my Open Houses enjoyed getting to make their roses too.

How did I color it?
I colored my white clay flower by just turning it upside down onto the Daffodil Delight ink pad to add a little color to it.
You can also color it with aqua painters & ink refill drops.
Or you can add ink refill drops to a plastic baggie & work the color into the clay.

Or you can wear rubber gloves & work the color into it.
There are alot of different possibilities!
'Kind & Cozy' & 'Label Love'
cs:  Island Indigo, Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz
Gingham Garden designer paper
ink:  Versamark & Daffodil Delight
supplies:  Simply Pressed Clay, Buttons & Blossoms Clay molds, embossing buddy, White 5/8" Organza ribbon, White Baker's Twine, Simply Scored Scoring Tool, 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, Blossom Punch, Artisan Punch, Paper Piercing Tool & Mat Pack, dimensionals, Paper Snips, Itty Bitty Punch Pack

dimensions:
  • Island Indigo cs= 5 1/2" x 8 1/2"
  • score at 2", 4", 8"
  • score along the bottom at 1"
  • snip out 1" x 1/2" rectangle in bottom corner
  • snip the 1" scoring lines along the bottom edge so that you can fold your box together
Years ago when I first started stamping I learned out to make this type of a box!
So quick, easy & fun!
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Today is going to be spent working on the farm.
We sell hogs tonight too.
Happy Stamping!

And I used the 2 new In Colors- Bake Brown Sugar & Crisp Cantaloupe.
I just love these 2 colors together & have used this combination alot lately.
Did you notice the embossing around the stamped images?
Isn't just the coolest that the embossing folder goes with this stamp set?

A sweet card made with 'Label Love'

Good morning!
Here is a sweet card everyone made at my Open Houses!
My dear friend Denise Sullivan shared a card layout similar to this one &
I CASED it (Copy And Share Everything)!

'Label Love'
cs:  Whisper White, Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo
ink:  Island Indigo
supplies:  Artisan Label punch, Boho Blossoms punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, dimensionals, Basic Pearls

Did you notice the layering around the punch.
I did this by punching out 2 of the Daffodil Delight labels & then cutting them in half.
Cut one horizontal & one vertical & then layer around the stamped image punch out!

We had a late night of racing......
Nathan's motor blew up on the first lap of the main in Donnellson on Friday night.
So the guys had a late night in the shop when they got home & got the motor pulled.
Papa Mark Sheetz made a quick trip to Des Moines to pick up the other motor
that had gotten fixed- it had blown up early this year.
And Nathan & Brayden took the race car to Keota for their Fun Day Parade.
The guys worked hard from noon on & got everything back together- so we were all off to Bloomfield.
There was short in a connection to a plug- so he only made a couple of laps in his
heat race & pulled in.
Thankfully they found the problem & got it fixed!!
He started 16th in the main & finished a strong 5th place.
Too bad we couldn't have had a few more laps, as he looked great!

The stands were busy with the boys!
Papa said it is less work to go to the pits & work on the car!
They were all good & we enjoyed a nice family evening together.

Brayden stayed over night & I'm hoping he sleeps in so I can work in my Stamp Studio!
I'm off to finish cutting card stock & get packed up to head to my
New Catalog Open House in Hiawatha.
I can't wait to see everyone & share!

I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!
Happy Stamping!

A 'Happy Day' flower!

Hello!
Here is a pretty card I made using the new set- 'Happy Day'
and 2 of the new In Colors!
I think it turned out pretty cute!
'Happy Day'

I have to share.......
I got an exciting phone call on Wednesday from Donna Griffith at the
Stampin' Up! home office training department.
This was a HAPPY DAY for me!
She asked me to be a presenter at Convention in July, along with 3 other demonstrators at the 'Building a Thriving Business' Break Out Class.
I am thrilled to have this opportunity to share my love of stamping with other demonstrators!
Yesterday I created a rough draft of my power point presentation.
We have several rehearsals between now & at convention to prepare for this class.

Today will be a busy day cutting card stock for my workshop tomorrow.
And it will be a FUN day with our boys too!
Then we're headed to the races tonight in Bloomfield!
I think that Papa is going to sit in the stands with me & help with the 3 boys.
This will be a new experience for him, as usually is in the pits with Nathan.

I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!

The center pops up into a stand-up card.

I don't know if you can tell by the photo or not, but I created a plaid background on the Melon Mambo card.
I used the Stripes embossing folder & ran it through going both directions!

I'm still working on my spare room today!
