'Birthday Cheer'!

Do you have someone special that you want to send a birthday card to?  Well this would be a great card to make & send to them!!!

This is a cute birthday card with a fun layout!!  Just check it out!!!  This is another one of  the cards that everyone coming to stamp with me for my January monthly card classes will be making this week!

I cut 4 squares that are different sizes-
  1. Night of Navy- 1 1/2 x 1 3/4"
  2. Call Me Clover- 1 2/ x 3 1/4"
  3. Call Me Clover- 2 1/4 x 1 3/4"
  4. Night of Navy- 2 1/4 x 3 1/4"
I then used the NEW Dot to Dot Textured Embossing Folder to emboss the Call Me Clover pieces.  And the Simple Stripes Embossing Folder to emboss the Night of Navy pieces.

I put all of the pieces into the 2 embossing folders diagonally- so I would get an angled look.

I stamped the birthday hat onto a piece of Whisper White card stock, using my Black Memento ink pad & then colored some of the stripes with my Dark Call Me Clover & Dark Night of Navy Stampin' Blends.  I used the Wink of Stella to color in the top of the hat & the white stripes.  NOTE:  There is a framelit with this stamp set, but not one for the birthday hat- so you'll have to use your paper snips & fussy cut it out.

stamp set:  'Birthday Cheer'
card stock:
  • Call Me Clover- 1 1/2 x 3 1/4 & 2 1/4 x 1 3/4- Emboss using the Dot to Dot Embossing folder

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids & then I burnt the midnight oil cutting card stock.

This morning Deke is up early to chore.  He will be gone all day, as he is taking his mom to Cedar Rapids to some dr appointments.  I'm up early to get some more card stock cut before I go get the boys!  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  When the kids are all gone home again tonight I'll be cutting cardstock & getting things done for my upcoming stamp classes I have this weekend.

I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

Oh what a wild weekend full of stamping I had!!  I had a stamp class on Friday night & one on Saturday morning.  Then I spent all afternoon/night on Saturday cutting more card stock, as I had 2 stamp classes yesterday too (one in the morning & one in the afternoon).  I enjoyed seeing everyone & sharing my passion of stamping with them all weekend long!!

Janiece & Darla were great hostesses yesterday!  I appreciated their help!  They had yummy treats too!  And then Ruth is just a true blessing to me......she is my side kick & I couldn't get through this monthly class without all she does to help me!!  I so treasure her friendship & help each month!

Last night on my way home from stamp classes I stopped & picked up a Casey's Pizza for our supper.  As I was too tired to make supper.  Deke helped me unload the car after we ate.  We watched a movie & went to bed.

We are up EARLY this morning at 4:00 a.m. to go outside to work on the farm.  We will mark, sort & load hogs!  The semi is to be here at 5:00 a.m to load them.  Hopefully we are done with selling the hogs & doing the chores by 7:00, a.m. so that we can get back in the house & on with the rest of our day.  Deke will be headed to town to his weekly board meeting.  I'll be headed in town to pick up the boys & take the twins to pre-school.  I'll spend my day with Trey.  Tonight when he goes home I'll get orders placed from my classes this past weekend & hopefully get some card stock cut too!!  I'm gearing up for this week (every spare minute I have) to get everything ready for my Annual 'All Occasions' card classes that I have the next 2 weekends.  I have lots of card stock cutting to do!

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Up! Hey Birthday Chick

Here is another 'Hey Birthday Chick' card!!!
It is sooo cute!!
This little chick just makes me smile!
Now who wouldn't want to get a birthday card like this!
I used the Foam Adhesive Sheets with the Happy Birthday Die,
so that they were popped up!
This was super easy to do!
How did I do it?
I cut a piece of foam about 1 x 2", peeled the protective sheet off of one side
& stuck a piece of Terracotta Tile card stock over the top of it.
I then laid my die on top of this & ran it through my Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine.
It worked great!
I just had to peel the protective sheet off of the back side &
it was ready to stick onto my card front!
I love the way this turned out!

This is what the images in the stamp set- 'Hey Birthday Chick'- #154464= $21.00
& coordinating dies- Birthday Chick Dies- #158200= $27.00 look like.
Or buy them together as a bundle & save 10%-
#158631- Hey Birthday Chick= $43.00
I added a wobbly behind the chick- so he moves!
I popped up the Scalloped Square frame, using Foam Adhesive Strips.

Here are the supplies & the measurements to that you can make this card too!

A slider/pull out bithday card- TUTORIAL!

Check it out!!  I made a fun slider/pull out birthday card!!

Want another great idea to use your Barn Door framelit with?  Read on.......

The first time I saw the Barn Door framelit I knew I wanted to make a slider card with it.  I finally had time to play with it & make this card last night.  I think it turned out super cute!!  What do you think?

How did I do it?
I have some photos & steps for you to see below-
#1- Cut out the window, using the Barn Door Framelit.
NOTE:  The window is about 1 3/4" from the bottom.  Whisper White card stock- 4 1/2 x 3 3/4"
#2- This is what it looks like when you get the slider hole cut out.
#3- Make a "track", using the adhesive strips on each side of the slider window.
NOTE:  Be sure you slide your piece of card stock into it first (Whisper White slider piece measures- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4"), so that you have it tight, but not rubbing.
#4-I added a little 'stop to the one end, using another adhesive strip, so that pull out strip couldn't go all of the way through.
#5- Be sure you rub the embossing buddy on the inside edges of the adhesive strip so that your paper slide out doesn't stick to it.
#6- Attach the window piece to the front of the card.  It will look like this.
#7- Using my Paper Snips, I fussy cut a bow out of the Picture Perfect Party DSP.  COOL HUH!
#8- Adhere a piece of Picture Perfect Party DSP to the bottom edge of the card front- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4".

#9- Slid in the pull out strip- between the adhesive track that you made.
NOTE:  If you want to stamp words onto it- do that first, so that you'll get a good stamped image on it.
I used the Bermuda Bay marker on the words- 'to you' to add to the pull out strip!

#10- Add a short piece of the adhesive strip to it the Whisper White pull our strip.

#11- Use the Tailored Tag punch & adhered it to the adhesive strip that inside the window track.
Below is what it looks like when it is stuck onto the adhesive strip
#12- Add another strip of Pool Party card stock- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4", to the front of the card by using an adhesive strip.  This is to hide the window.
NOTE:  I only put the adhesive strip along the bottom edge of this piece of card stock, as you want the top to be free, so that it is hiding the window, but allowing it to move freely!

#13- This is what it looks like when you put the Pool Party strip on & have your pull out piece inside the track.
#14- Add a dimensional to the top point of the Tailored Tag punch.
NOTE:  Be sure that it isn't touching the Pool Party card stock piece.
#15- Stick the bow onto the dimensional & finished decorating the card front.
#16- The card is finished!
Check out this cute card when it is pulled out!
Isn't it cute!!  And it was so much fun to make!  I'm sending it to a special friend for her birthday!  I hope she likes it!

stamp set:  'Picture Perfect Birthday'

  • Pool Party- 4 1/4 x 11; 4 1/2 x 1 1/4" ; 1 3/4" strip- stamp words on & cut out with Stitched Framelits

Yesterday was a LONG day.........it started out with a short night on Monday night & an early morning yesterday selling hogs!  And then the kids were all here all day!  We had a fun time celebrating Masen's official 3rd birthday!  He got his crispix (wood cake) from Grandma & a super cute dinosaur card (made with a retired stamp set.)  I had a big Balloon on the door with a #52 race car, a birthday banner & streamers hanging in the door!  He was all smiles when he walked in the door! They boys played outside for a while too, running off some energy!

Last night I worked on stamping stuff!  And finally called it a night about 11.  I was beat & couldn't think straight enough to accomplish anything more for the day.

This morning we are up early.  Deke will chore & head to courthouse & then to Ottumwa.  I'm off to walk & be at Manda's early to get the boys.  I'll hurry home to be here so Sarah can drop off their 3. We plan to play outside again, enjoying our last days of summer vacation!

Gotta run......
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
