'Bookcase Builder' teddy bears!

Woo Hoo!
I have EXCITING NEWS TO SHARE WITH YOU!

Here is a fun card I made!  And it is PINK!  I never get to make anything pink, as we have 5 little boys.  But we are EXCITED to share our news that Nathan & Sarah are having a little girl in July!  So this grandma is going to be busier than ever with another little one.  It will be fun to have a little girl though.  She will have lots of boys around to protect her- that is forsure!

So with our new little girl in mind I made this card!  I used the cute Occasions Catalog set- 'Bookcase Builder'.  It worked perfectly to stamp these little teddy bears onto a strip of Whisper White card stock & then cut all of these squares with our Layering Squares Framelits!
stamp set:  'Bookcase Builder'
card stock:
*Blushing Bride-
  • 5 1/2 x 8 1/2- fold in half for card base
  • 5 x 1/2- snips ends with paper snips to give them the flagged look
  • 1 3/4" strip (to cut squares)
*Crumb Cake-
  • 2" strip (to cut squares)
  • 5 x 1 1/4"
*Whisper White-
  • 1 1/2" strip (to stamp bears onto & cut out squares)
  • 3 1/2 x 1" (for outside of card to stamp 'congratulations' on)
  • 4 x 5 1/4 (for inside of card to stamp words onto)
ink:  Crumb Cake
marker:  Blushing Bride
other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Layering Squares Framelits, Blushing Bride 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Paper Snips

I've been making lists & starting to figure out stamp sets for the cards for my upcoming 'Annual All Occasions' card class that is next month.  This stamp set (& even possibly this card), might end up being one of my cards for this class.  I think this pink card turned out super cute!

Yesterday was a busy day working on tax stuff!  I got it all done & to our CPA.  Now I need to find time to get caught up on other things that have piled the past week.

This morning I'm off to go pick up my boys for the day!  Masen will be here late tonight, as Sarah has a meeting.

Deke is off early this morning to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  And then he has another meeting tonight to go to too.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!
Happy Stamping!

'So Very Much'

Here is another Watercolor Wash card.  I created this one when trying to design my cards for my monthly classes, early this month.  This is the first card I did, but I didn't use it at my class.  I used this ONE HERE at my class.
This dragonfly is really pretty though in the Silver Glimmer paper too isn't i! It is just a pretty sparkly card!

stamp set: 'So Very Much'- #143340 (w) or #143331 (c)- SAB Catalog= FREE with a $50 order!
card stock:   Smoky Slate, Thick Whisper White, Shimmery White, Silver Glimmer paper

I have been doing bookwork all weekend- getting our stuff done for our taxes.  I know I'm tired of looking at numbers!  I'd rather be stamping!!  I am just about done though & will get everything to our CPA later today.

Deke is home to work on the farm all day again today.  He is still powerwashing, getting ready for our new baby piggies to come next week.

There is no school today since it is Presidents Day.  So I don't have any boys here right now, but I'm sure they'll be down later.

I've gotta run......
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

A Balloon Pop-Up card!

Here is another fun fold card that everyone joining me for my February monthly classes got to make.
It is a cool black & ivory card, using the new Balloon Pop-Up Thinlits Dies & the coordinating 'Balloon Adventures' stamp set!

The center of this card doesn't actually pop out.  I adhered it directly to the center of the card & decorated it.
This card measures when folded a standard size card at 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".
Here it is as it is starting to open up!

I think this would be a great card for a birthday, retirement party or it would even make a great graduation card!
Didn't it cool!!  Who wouldn't love getting a card like this!  I really like it!!

I used the Balloon Bouquet Punch & the Urban Underground DSP to decorate the Balloons in the center of the card.

The 'Lets Celebrate' words are photopolymer, so I curved them a little when I placed them onto my clear block.  That way I could stamp them on a 1" strip of Very Vanilla card stock & then punch them out using the Duet Banner Punch!

How did I do that?
Here are the supplies & the measurements I used to make this card!

This is another one of the cards that everyone joining me the first part of this month made at my monthly classes.  It is a fun water wash technique card, along with a FUN Easel Fold too!

How did I do it?
  1. Rub Embossing Buddy over Shimmery White card stock
  2. Ink Thank You stamp with Versamark Ink pad
  3. Pour Silver Embossing Powder over the inked words
  4. Using Heat Tool- emboss the words, using the heat tool over it until the silver goes from dull to shiny & raised

Yesterday morning after I took the 3 bigger boys to school, the 2 littler ones & I ran errands & then headed back out to our home for the day.

Last night we all went bowling, had pizza & then went back to the Seeley's for cupcakes!  It was alot of fun!  Even little Masen had fun rolling the ball down the lane.  The 3 bigger boys are all pretty good bowlers.   Brayden had several strikes & the other 2 each had a few too!

This morning Deke is up early to chore, as he has a meeting to attend this afternoon.
I'm gonna be home all day working on tax stuff.
Tonight we are going to go to Brayden's basketball game.

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!

A clean & simple 'Avant Garden'

Here is a clean & simple black & white card.  In my opinion, you can never go wrong with black & white!   Black & white cards are always some of my favorites!

I had a busy day with my boys yesterday!  Last night when they went home I worked on bookwork.  And Deke worked late on the farm moving pigs.  We are trying to get things ready for new baby piggies to come soon.

This morning I'm off to go pick up the boys.  I'll take the twins to pre-school & then spend my day with Trey & Masen.  Deke is home again today to work on the farm all day, so we will look forward to him being home to eat lunch with us.

Tonight we are doing a family bowling/pizza night for my birthday.  It will be me, Deke, Nathan, Sarah, Manda, Steve, Brayden, Brody, Drake, Trey & Masen!  The boys are excited!  I sure hope we have fun!  We haven't gone bowling together since last winter.

It's another 'Hey Chick'!

Oh my gosh......check out this crazy chick!  He just kills me!!  He looks like he is quite the party animal!  He just makes me laugh every time I look at him.

I did designer paper piecing on his body.
How did I do it?
  • I stamped him onto Watercolor Paper, using the Archival Basic Black ink pad.
  • I stamped him onto a little piece of Urban Underground Designer Paper & cut out his body using the paper snips & glued it onto the Watercolor Paper/stamped chick.
  • I then used a Blender Pen & the Watercolor Pencils to color in his feet, tail & crazy hair!
Check out the Chicken Wire backgound.
How did I do it?
  • I applied Black Memento ink to the inside top lid of the Hexagon Embossing Folder.
  • Then laid my Crumb Cake card stock into the Hexagon Embossing Folder & closed it.
  • Then ran the Hexagon Embossing Folder through my Big Shot

stamp set:  'Hey Chick'- Sale-a-bration choice you can get for FREE with a $50 order!
card stock:  Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Watercolor Paper
designer paper:  Urban Underground DSP

Yesterday was a busy day with boys!  When Masen left last night I went out to help Deke mark, sort & load hogs.  We hurried in to shower & headed to town to attend a visitation of a friend- John Bowers.  His visitation was to be over with at 7:00, but we knew there would be a big crowd & we'd make it in time.  We got there about 7:30 & the line was still super long!  It was 8:50 when we finally got home.

I'm off this morning to pick up all of my boys for the day.  Deke is home to work on the farm all day today.  The weather is suppose to be warm today....hoping it is so we can go outside to play.  Tonight when everyone goes home I'll be working on stamping stuff.

I hope you have a great Thursday!
Happy Stamping!

'Hey Chick'- I love it!

OH my gosh....my grandparents raised chickens & I have very fond memories of lots of time that I spent growing up on their farm.  Gathering eggs, butchering chickens, milking cows, feeding pigs, working in the garden, canning vegetables, pasteurizing milk, weeding flowers, etc.

So......when I saw this stamp set- 'Grandma' is one of the first things that came to my mind.  This stamp set is super cute!  The chickens in it are so fun.  The one with the wild hair looks like he is a wild & crazy one that likes to party!  I'll have to find time to make a card using him sometime soon!
This is one of the cards everyone at my monthly classes made last week when they came to stamp with me!

Here is a TIP for getting a more true RED color with the Watercolor Pencils.  I think that that the red pencil has an orange tint to it.  So when I used the Red Colored Pencils & Real Red card stock together I combine the Real Red Colored Pencil & the Melon Mambo Colored Pencils together!

Here are the supplies & the measurements for this card.

Hexagon Embossing Folder- #143231= $9.00- Occasions Catalog- pg. 47

How did I make the chicken wire image?
  • I inked the top/inside lid (that has the words on it) of the Hexagon Embossing Folder with the Memento ink.
  • I then laid the Crumb Cake card stock in the embossing folder.
  • I shut the embossing folder & firmly pressed down all over the whole outside surface of the embossing folder- pressing the ink for the folder onto the card stock.
  • I opened up the embossing folder & removed the chicken wire image card stock piece.
