Red/White & Blue SNEAK PEEKS

I have a fun red/white/blue card in honor of celebrating

 Labor Day today in the USA!

 I hope everyone has a fun holiday weekend!

We spent it yesterday with family & today Deke & I are 

canning LOTS of tomatoes.

 

For today's card I used a couple NEW SNEAK PEEKS!

Check out my how I made my stripes.

We don't currently have a stripped DSP & that is what I wanted.

So I used some scraps & made my own!

I just adhered the Basic White strips to the Real Red card stock.

And then cut off the excess with my scissors.

It is easy to do!

Faux Wood Carving Technique

Happy Friday!

Which do you like better?

THIS- the left- embossed side?

OR

THAT- the right- debossed side? 

 

I did the Faux Wood Carving Technique using the

#165597- (Glass &) Gardens Embossing Folder(s)= $9.00 set of 2.

 

Aren't they neat! 

This is the EMBOSSED side with the flowers/leaves sticking upward.

This is the DEBOSSED side with the flowers/leaves going downward. 

 

How did I do it? 

*EMBOSSED the Very Vanilla card stock.

*Then with the embossed side upward, I scored every 1/2" to make the lines onto the cardstock, 

using my Simply Scored Scoring Tool

*Then "very lightly" drag ink pads over the embossed flowers/leaves.

*Use Crumb Cake, then Pecan Pie & then Early Espresso ink pads.

*Add Gems

• Early Espresso- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2- score at 2 1/8" 6 3/8"- fold for card base

Jolly Holly Bundle

 WOW- look at this.......

Here is a simple yet elegant Christmas card!

 This is a totally Susie card & love the way it turned out.

 

I used this Online Exclusive Bundle when creating it!!

#166120- Jolly Holly Bundle= $54.00 Online Exclusive

This is a hybrid embossing folder/die bundle.

You can cut & emboss at the same time.

It is so cool isn't it!!

 

And check out the great words & images that are in this stamp set! 

 

Notice how I stamped the holly leaves around the edges of the inside of the card!

And then I used Stampin' Blend & an Old Olive ink pad with a Sponge Dauber to 

add color to the holly by the inside greeting.

 Look at these holly leaves!

Isn't ti so cool how this hybrid embossing folder can cut & emboss at the same time! 

Notice how I added a little Old Olive ink with a Sponge Dauber 

over these embossed holly leaves for some added color!
