'Petal Palette'- spotlighting

Here is a beautiful "spotlighting technique" card.

My downline Dawn Keline shared a card similar to this one at our team meeting in January.  The Petal Passion Designer Paper that I used here just works perfectly for doing this cool technique.

The "spotlighting technique" is often done on a collage stamped card.  And this Petal Passions Designer Paper is the perfect collage images.

How did I do this?
  • I punched a circle out of this Petal Passion Designer Paper using the 2" Circle Punch.
  • I colored the flowers in the punched out circle using the Stampin' Blends.
  • I added the Wink of Stella over the top of the colored flowers.
  • I punched a Black Circle to layer behind the colored flowers using the 2 1/4" Circle Punch.
  • Using dimensionals I put the layered flower circle back over the top of the piece that I punched out.
Isn't it just so clean, simple & pretty!!

What are the measurements to make this curtain fold?

  • score at 2", 2 1/2", 4", 4 1/2"

'Magic Day'- dragon

I used the cute little dragon from the 'Magic Day' stamp set for this card.  This is a clean & simple & made with several punches.  I used the Wink of Stella on the dragon to add some glimmer!
stamp set:  'Magic Day' & 'Sure Do Love You'
card stock:   Bermuda Bay, Real Red, Pool Party, Whisper White
designer paper:  Bubbles & Fizz- Sale-a-bration Level 1 choice
ink:  Archival Basic Black
other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Layering Circles Framelits, Magical Mates Framelits Dies, 2 1/4" Circle Punch, Cookie Cutter Punch (small heart), Wink of Stella, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Paper Snips
This is what I made to give the boys for Valentines Day!
And I didn't think that I could give a dragon to Ainslee.  So her card is similar to the boys cards, but I used the unicorn on hers instead.

I added some Wink of Stella to the unicorn, to add some extra bling to it too!

Tonight I plan to do bookwork when the kids go home.

Yesterday was a crazy day!  The twins both felt better, so they got to go to school.   Brayden & Masen both ended up staying with us on Monday night & Ainslee went to the ER.  She has RSV & was having a hard time breathing, eating & was getting dehydrated.  She was a little better last night when she was here.....so hoping she is feeling much better today when she gets here.

I left early yesterday morning to head to town & take the 3 big boys to school.  I then spent my day with the little ones.  Last night Steve & Manda played in the snow with all of the boys here at our house.  When everyone went home I worked on stamping stuff.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to Mt. Pleasant for a meeting there.  I'm off to walk & head to town to take the twins to school & spend my day with the little ones again.  Tonight we are just staying home & hopefully can catch up on some things.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!

More 'Heartleft Blooms'

This is one of the cards that everyone joining me at my January stamp classes made with me!  Isn't this 'Heartfelt Blooms' stamp set just beautiful!!  This stamp set is one of the products that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration (now until 3/31/18) with a $50 order!

This stamp set is called a Distinktive stamp.  Stampin' Up! is in the process of getting a patent for this.  You just ink this whole flowery image, all at one time & stamp it!  It lays down the ink at different opacities giving the finished image more depth!  You just ink the surface lightly for a perfect photographic finish.

I stamped the flowery image onto Whisper White card stock, using the Smoky Slate ink pad.  I then colored in some of the flowers using the Light Pink Pirouette Stampin' Blend & Light Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blend.

I then used my Clear Wink of Stella over the flowers.

And check out the Clear Faceted Gem I added to the center of the big flower.
I used the new Tailored Tag Punch for the words.  I punched out a Berry Burst Tag Punch, cut in half horizontally & layered it behind the punched out words.

And look at the gorgeous Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon.  WOW!

stamp set:  'Heartfelt Blooms'
card stock:  Smoky Slate, Berry Burst, Whisper White
ink:  Smoky Slate
Stampin' Blends:  Light Pink Pirouette, Light Rich Razzleberry
other:  Tailored Tag Punch, Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon, Clear Faceted Gem, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Clear Wink of Stella
This is a fun z fold card too!!  Cool huh!

The boys making Valentines!

The boys- Trey & Masen- made some Valentines the other day!!
It is so fun to see them make crafts!!
What would we do without punches, dimensionals & glue dots?
Masen is sticking his little hearts onto one of his big hearts.
Trey is sticking on his little hearts onto one of his big hearts.
Here is their finished projects!!  Didn't they turn out cute!!
We hung them on the door knobs in the family toy room!

Another 'Brusho'- Beautiful Day!

Yep- it is another Brusho flower.  I stamped this one in the Archival Basis Black ink onto the Shimmery White card stock.  And then I colored it with the Red Brusho powder & an Aqua Painter.  I used a Clear Block, tapped some Brusho powder onto it (using this as my color palette), added water to it with the Aqua Painter & colored in the flower & leaf.
I think these colors are stunning together, added onto a black card base.  I had a hard time trying to decide what color of green to use with the Brusho green & decided I liked the Always Artichoke the best.

Check out the stems from the Petal Pairs Textured Embossing folder.....and the Black Shimmery ribbon that I used to dress up this card.
Here are the 3 colors of Brusho that I used.
  • Red

Wow- Yesterday was a busy & long day!!

We had about 1 1/2" of more new snow on the ground yesterday morning when I headed out for Hiawatha.  Thankfully the snow was done, but the roads weren't very good.  I had 100% snow covered roads all the way from our home to I-80.  Thankfully the roads were dry & clear coming home.

We all had a great day of stamping though!  I enjoyed visiting, sharing & stamping with everyone that joined me!  Becky & Cheryl were great hostesses!  Yummy treats, good company & cute cards- what could be more fun!!

Last night when we got home we ran into Manda & Steve's for a bit to see them & the boys.

This morning I'm up early to walk & spend my day with the kids.  Deke is up early to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting at the courthouse.  Tonight Deke has another meeting & I'll be working on stamping stuff when the kids go home.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!

'Waterfront'- so beautiful!!

WOW!  I don't know about you, but I think that this new stamp set- 'Waterfront' is just an amazing stamp set!!  It is full of endless possibilities!

This is a fun fold card too!!  It is a perfect guy card! Or it would make a great sympathy card too!  How about a get well card or thinking of you card?  There are many different occasions that it could work for.

This is one of the cards that everyone joining me for my monthly February stamp classes will be making with me.
Check it out!!  I only used 2 different colors of ink pads here & I still think it is stunning!

TIP:  The tree on the far right- I did take my Night of Navy Stampin' Write Marker & add a little to the bottom of the tree trunk- as it didn't quite touch the mountains (or hill) there & I didn't wait it floating in mid air!

How did I stamp it?
  • Stamp the mountain first- using the Night of Navy ink pad.
  • Then stamp the trees- using the Night of Navy ink pad.
  • I inked the water image into the Night of Navy ink pad & then stamped it off onto my grid paper, before stamping it onto my square piece of card stock here.
  • Add the birds- using the Night of Navy ink pad.
  • And lastly I inked the sun in the So Saffron & stamped it!
How did I fold it?
  • Night of Navy- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score 3/4", 2 1/8", 6 3/8", 7 3/4"
  • I then used Tear & Tape to stick down the 2 flaps that I folded back.
Here are the supplies:
'Waterfront'- #146386- (photopolymer)= $17.00- OC- pg. 48

'High Tide'- #143006- (photopolymer)= $26.00- pg. 140- I used the birds!

Yesterday we woke up to more snow & blowing/drifting.  Thankfully it stopped before noon.  School was let out early though at 1:00- so all of the boys were here early from school.  So grandma opened up Susie's Hair Hut- so Brody & Brayden both got their hair cut!  The other guys/boys will hopefully get their done in the next week or so.

When the kids were gone last night I worked on sorting orders & cutting card stock!

This morning we are up early at 4:30 a.m. & headed outside to blade the snow so that the semi can get in & out safely!  We'll then mark, sort & load hogs.  I'll then spend the rest of my day/night cutting card stock & getting everything ready for tomorrow's stamp classes.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a SUPER Sunday!!

Another 'Beautiful Day' card, doing the Black Magic technique!

Are you tired of this stamp set?  I hope not.......as I have another way to use it, that I'm sharing with you today!

Check out this pretty "Black Magic" technique card I made using the 'Beautiful Day' flower stamp again.
How did I do it?
  • I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over a strip of Basic Black card stock.
  • I stamped the flower image onto it, using the Versamark ink pad.
  • I dumped White Embossing Powder over it, tapping off the excess.
  • I heat set the Embossing Powder, using the Heat Tool.
  • I used my Paper Snips & fussy cut out the White Embossing flower image.
  • I colored the embossed flower using these Stampin' Blends- Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Old Olive, Dark Daffodil Delight.
Check out the curtain fold that I did along the bottom edge here.

What are the measurements to make this curtain fold?
  • 6 x 2 3/4"- dsp
  • score at 2", 2 1/2", 4", 4 1/2"
  • diagonal cut at the 1" mark on your Stampin' Trimmer from the 2" score mark- through all of the rest of the scoring marks.
stamp set:  'Beautiful Day'
card stock:  Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White
ink:  Versamark Pad, Old Olive, Archival Basic Black
Stampin' Blends:  Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Old Olive
other: Tear & Tape, Perfect White Accents (colored with my Dark Old Olive Stampin' Blend), Paper Snips, Dimensionals
Here is the pile of cards I made.  These are for a monthly swap that I'm in.

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  Last night after everyone was gone home, I worked on cutting card stock for my classes I have this weekend.

FAST FUSE SALE- SOLD OUT!

I have bad news from Stampin' Up!!!

Unfortunately, the Fast Fuse Adhesive inventory couldn’t keep up with our enthusiasm, and Stampin' Up! was forced to end the Fast Fuse 5-Day Sale already.  They knew there would be a big demand for it, but we blew them out of their forecasted projection.

YEAH- I know that many of you got in on this great deal!!  I'm glad you ordered it so fast.

Another 'Beautiful Day' flower!

Here is another pretty 'Beautiful Day' flower, that I colored with Brusho.  I am just lovin' using this fun new Brusho product!  This card is clean & simple & elegant!

Here are the 5 colors of the Brusho Crystals.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW:  You just take a tack pin & poke one hole in the top of each lid & use them like you would a salt shaker!  Store them with the tack pin left in them.  DO NOT TAKE THE LID OFF OR OPEN IT......as the Brusho is a very fine powder & it will poof all over & make a huge mess.

 How did I do it?

  • Using Versamark ink, I stamped the flower image onto Shimmery White card stock.
  • I put White Embossing Powder over it & heat set it with the Heat Tool.
  • I then took a Big Clear Block & tapped some Orange & Yellow Brusho onto it.
(Gosh- don't look at my messy grid paper- I didn't realize it was that bad- sorry!)
  •  Using my Aqua Painter I added a little water with the Brusho powder & then colored my flowers.
  • NOTE:  I did use a Pear Pizzazz ink pad- by squishing the ink onto the ink pad cover & picking it up with my Aqua Painter to color the leaves.
  • I used the circle make up pad that I bought at the dollar store to lightly pick up some extra water in some spots.
  • I then let my flowers air dry for about 30 mins.
  • I then took my Paper Snips & fussy cut out the flowers.

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  Last night when they went home I did farm bookwork & Susie's Hair Hut was open, as Deke needed a hair cut pretty badly.

This morning I'm off to walk & then head to town to get the boys.  I'll take the twins to school & spend my day with the 3 little ones.  The 3 big boys will be here after school tonight.  And when everyone is gone home I'll be cutting card stock tonight.

I hope you have a very special Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

A sliding 'Barn Door'!

OH my gosh......Here is a sliding barn door card that I made!  Oh it is so stinkin' cute!!!!

The door rails & the bar above the door, are just Big Shot images that are for looks only.  They do not make the card slide.  They just make it look more realistic!  I used the double slit framelit to make the sliding track areas for the washers to slide in.

This sliding door card is super easy to do!  You can check out a Stampin' Up! u tube video on how to make this by- CLICKING HERE!
Check out the cluster of hearts that I put on the other side of the door.

I purchased #6 washers at our local hardware store & sandwiched them with one of mini dimensionals between them to make the slider!  NOTE:  You will need 8 total washers to use for just this one card.
stamp set: 'Barn Door', 'Perennial Birthday' (for the inside words) & 'Always & Forever' (heart cluster) card stock:  Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White, Crumb Cake
ink:  Archival Basic Black
other:  Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Sliding Door Framelits Dies, 1/8" Real Red Ribbon, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (little heart hanging on the Hello sign), mini dimensionals, 8- #6 washers from the local hardware store

Yesterday was a busy day with snow, kids & stamping!  I'm ready for SPRING to say the least.  We have piles & piles of snow with more on it's way.

I'm not sure what today will bring.  Drake wasn't feeling well last night.  I'm off to walk & then head in to town to get the boys.  I'll take Brody (& maybe Drake too) to school & then spend my day with the other kids.  And we might be going to the dr???  We'll see.

Deke is off early to chore & head to the courthouse to spend the morning at his office there.

Tonight I'll be stamping!
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!
