Happy Birthday to Katie!

Today I'm sharing a bright & fun card!!!  What do you think?  I made it for our great-niece, Katie, that is turning 8.  She loves rainbows.....so this is the card I made this especially for her & sent it to her.  I used the Black & White stripped DSP from the Golden Honey Specialty DSP & colored the white stripes, using my Stampin' Blends.  You could color these stripes any color.  Or you could just leave them black & white!
Here are the colors of Stampin' Blends that I used-
  • Dark Real Red
  • Dark Pumpkin Pie
  • Dark Daffodil Delight
  • Dark Granny Apple Green
  • Light Night of Navy
  • Light Rich Razzleberry
I did the curtain fold along this bottom.  Here is how I folded it.
How did I do it?
Here are the measurements that I used to make this curtain fold.
DSP- 3 x 6"- score at 2 3/4", 3 1/4", 4 1/4", 4 3/4"
Then cut from first score mark at 2 3/4"- to the far end, to make a diagonal.
Then color.
Then fold.
Then adhere!
This is what the back side of the DSP looks like after I colored the stripes with my Stampin' Blends.
I didn't want the bees/flower/leaves to show, so I added some 1/2" strips of Whisper White card stock to the 2 pieces that show on the front side with the curtain fold.
This is what it looks like after I have adhered them & am folding it to adhere to the front of the card.
NOTE:  I adhere this folded curtain DSP strip to the front of the card, using Tear & Tape.
***I used 3 Sale-a-bration choices on this card.  The 'Thoughtful Blooms' stamp set & Golden Honey Specialty DSP are both a Level 1 choice.  You could get either of them for FREE with a $50 product order!  The Small Bloom Punch is a Level 2 choice.  You could get it for FREE with a $100 product order.  OR this punch will be available to purchase in the upcoming 2020-2021 Annual Catalog.

stamp set:  'Thoughtful Blooms'- SAB choice & 'Perennial Birthday'
card stock:
  • Thick Whisper White- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4"- fold in half for card base

  • Basic Black- 4 1/4 x 3/4"
