Black Magic Technique using Layered Thoughts

WOW!
Check out these fun pull up pocket gift card holder cards!

Which do you like better?
THIS (left)- the Thank you card?
OR
THAT (right)- the Birthday card?

Everyone joining me at my July monthly classes will get to make one of these cards.
Are you signed up to come stamp with me?
Which one of these cards are you going to make?

Notice how the letters are different colors?
This is a technique called the Black Magic Technique.
It looks like a colored chalk board doesn't it.

How did I do it?
1.  Use Embossing Buddy over the entire piece of Basic Black card stock
2.  Stamp image onto Basic Black card stock using a White Craft ink pad or a Versamark pad.
(For my classes this month I'll be using the White Craft ink pad so that you can see the letter easier.)
3.  Put White Embossing Powder over the letters.
4.  Be sure to tap off excess & don't leave any little white powder residue anywhere except on the letters.
5.  Heat the White Embossing Powder using the Heat Tool.
6.  Let dry/cool a few minutes.
7.  Now color over the top of the "White Embossed Letters" with your choice of Stampin' BLENDS!

You can click on the links below to see LOTS of other cards I have made over the years
doing this Black Magic Technique.

Check out how I made a pull up pocket inside both of these cards!
I made a card similar to this for Ainslee's birthday a few weeks ago.
Here are the supplies & measurements for my card.
stamp sets:
  • Layered Thoughts (outside words)
  • Round We Go (inside words)
card stock:
  • Balmy Blue- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 2 1/4" & 6 1/2" for card base (note that the wider flap is on the top that you adhere the DSP to)

& then fussy cut word out using Paper Snips Scissors.
*Adhere 'Celebrate' to stars using dimensionals.

Sunflower 3D Embossed cards

Here are some easy cards showcasing the awesome NEW
#166145- Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder.
Both of these cards are a vertical layout.
Look closely at these 2 embossed pieces.
The Left one is Embossed- so the images are raised up.
AND
The right one is Debossed- so the images are lower.
What does this mean?
It gives the images a different look.
So that you can see how different they both look,
I "lightly drug" an ink pad over the top of each of them to show you!
Can you see the difference in them?
Which one do you like better?
They are like a mirror image.
I personally think that I like the debossed sunflowers better
when the ink is added to them like this.
This card is Embossed.
This card is Debossed.
I also did the exact same cards & used Pecan Pie ink on these.
The left card is Embossed.
AND
The right card is Debossed.
Both of these cards are a horizontal layout.
Embossed
Debossed

This card is my favorite out of the 4 different cards on today's blog post.

Here are the supplies & measurements.

  • Early Espresso or Pecan Pie- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2"- score at 4 1/4" & fold in half for card base
