Delightful Tag Topper Punch!

Where did I get this fancy scalloped edge circle that I used to layer with here?

Keep on reading & you'll find out!
I used the Delightful Tag Topper Punch!

I cut a piece of card that that measures 2 1/2 x 2".
I slid it into the Delightful Tag Topper Punch.
I punched one end.
And then put the other end in & punched it too!
NOTE:  When I punched the 2nd end- I was careful to make sure that it was centered in the punch, so that it punched evenly.
I used my fingernails to hold onto it & help center it.
You could use a paper piercing tool too to help slide it, so that it is center.
And this is what it looks like when both ends are punch!
Cool huh!

'Beautiful Friendship' with Faux Silk technqiue!

Check out this pretty Hydrangea card!!  It is one of the cards that everyone joining me for my July monthly classes will be making!  I used the cool new stamp set called- 'Beautiful Friendship'.  Look at page 123 to check it out!

If you look closely at this card, you can see that I did a Faux Silk technique over the flower/leaf images.  It is really hard to see in the photo, but in person it is really pretty!

How did I do the Faux Silk technique?
  1. Stamp flowers/leaves onto the Whisper White card stock.
  2. Take a piece of tissue paper & wad it up.
  3. Carefully open up the tissue paper, but do not flatten out- leave as many wrinkles & creases in it as possible.
  4.  Use a glue stick & rub it all over the entire piece of card stock with the flowers/leaves stamped onto it.
  5. Lightly press the tissue paper over the flowers/leaves images, so that it sticks to the glue.
  6. NOTE:  BE sure you leave the crinkles in the tissue paper.......that is what makes it look cool.
  7. NOTE:  BE sure that the tissue paper is a little bigger than the size of your card stock.
  8. Take your Paper Snips & cut around the edges of the card stock, cutting off any excess tissue paper.  (OR you can tuck it under & onto the back side of the cardstock.)
  9. I added some Basic Pearls over the tops of a few of the flowers.
So what do you think?  Do you like it?  Don't you too think it is pretty?

This NEW In Color called Sea Side Spray is a new favorite color of mine!!

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  It was super hot & humid & we ended up getting rain.  So the races were cancelled.  Deke worked late & I worked on bookwork.  Manda, Steve & the boys stopped out to see us for a few minutes too.  We are still so tired & not adjusting well to the time change & jet lag.  We ended up going to bed about 10:30- which is early for us.

This morning Deke is up early to move pigs & hopefully get alot done before it gets super hot.  I'll be working on stamping stuff until the kids get here & then spend the day with them.  Tonight I'll be burning the midnight oil cutting card stock, when the kids go home.

I hope you have a great Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

We made it home- FINALLY!!!  We had 30 hours of travel trying to get home on Sunday/Sunday night/Monday morning.  I hate the Chicago (O'Hare) airport.  Every time we go there, our flight is delayed or cancelled.  And that was exactly what happened to us again.  Our plane sat on the runway for 1 hour after we landed- waiting on a gate.  So that pushed us to get through customs, pick up our luggage & recheck it, plus go back through security.  The airport train was broke & the line for the bus was super long, so we paid a cab to take us to the other side to our terminal.  Our gates got changed at least 6 times and we were ticketed on 3 different flights.  Our original flight was delayed & the gate was rescheduled 2 times, before it was cancelled.  There were no other flights going to Des Moines until the next day (Monday), so they ticketed us to fly to Waterloo.  That meant someone had to come get us, as our vehicle was in Des Moines- so Manda & Steve were gonna come pick us up.  But that flight was delayed & the gate was changed.  In the mean time they ended up scheduling another late flight to Des Moines- so we switched flights again.  The gate for that flight was changed 3 times & flight was delayed 3 times......we thought we were gonna end up staying in the airport all night.  But we finally got on a plane about midnight & headed to Des Moines.  We made it to Des Moines, but our 3 suitcases did not.  (I was so upset- as we had checked everything & I just prayed we would end up getting it all.). We got home & pulled into our driveway about 3:30 a.m..  Deke went out to check pigs & I glanced through our pile of mail, before we crawled into bed.  It was a short night.

Deke was up early yesterday morning, went out to chore & then had his weekly board meeting at the courthouse.  I was up early to get some thing done before Masen & Ainslee got here.  Manda & the boys stopped out to say hi & welcome us home.  The airport delivered our 3 suitcases yesterday afternoon, about 4:45 p.m.  So I spent my evening unpacking, working on doing laundry, going through mail & emails.  And Deke worked late outside.  We were both beat & finally called it a night about 11:00.

Today Deke will be home to work on the farm all day & I'll have the 3 Wood kids.  Tonight we will all be going to the races to cheer on Nathan.  Last week he got 2nd place, by only about 1"- so hopefully he has good luck tonight.  Sarah's work (Dekalb Seed) is sponsoring the races, so the kids will be going with me.  It will be a fun night with all of our family!!

We had a wonderful trip!  It was fun spending time with our demonstrator friends from afar.  The country there is beautiful & hot.  It was great being there, but we are sure happy to be home.  I hope to get pictures downloaded & posted sometime next week to share with all of you.  This week we have a jam packed week with races, county fair & 4 stamp classes.  I have lots of creating & cutting to get done every spare minute I can find.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!
