Faux Shutter Technique or Fractured card

Isn't this just so cute!

I LOVE THIS card & this TECHNIQUE! 

Here is another Fractured card or Faux Shutter Technique.

I used the Zoo Crew DSP & coordinating 'Zany Zoo' Bundle!

Inked & Tiled Leaf

I LOVE IT!

The card makes me think of Fall (my favorite time of the year)!

I used the stamp set-

 #161158- Inked & Tiled= $27.00- pg. 95.

AND 

#161157- Inked Botanicals 6x6 DSP (48 sheets)= $12.50- pg. 131.

Notice how I shadow stamped the leaf directly onto the 

card front using Lost Lagoon ink onto the Lost Lagoon card stock.

I then splattered some dots over the stamped leaf using the  

Lost Lagoon Stampin' Write Marker. 

 

How did I do that?

I used the brush tip end, along with the marker lid of my 

Stampin' Write Marker & flicked the ink onto it.

Reach For The Stars

 

Check out this fun card using the 

#161175- Stargazing DSP= $12.50- pg. 132,

along with the coordinating stamp set-

#161176- Reach For The Stars stamp set= $25.00- pg. 87.

I cut 4 pieces of DSP that each measure 2 x 2 5/8".

I then bent back the center pieces to make the 'shutter'!

I then added the words to the center of the card.

These DSP pieces are adhered to a Basic White 4 x 5 1/4".

Country Side Inn Fun Fold

I made another fun fold z card using the

#161467- Countryside Inn DSP= $12.50- pg. 129.

 This is what the card looks like when opened up!

 

You can CLICK HERE to see another card I made using this same fun fold! 

 Here is the pattern on how I cut it.

*8 1/2 x 11" of card stock.

*Measure & lightly mark at 3" on both ends as shown.

*Then diagonally cut from mark to mark.

*You'll now have 2 card bases. 

 *Using the Simply Scored Scoring Tool- 

score your card base as shown @ 4 1/4" & 8".

 

Below shows how I cut the layers at a diagonal-

For the diagonal fun fold birthday card here is how I cut dsp at the angle-

1. Cut dsp, slid up about 1/2” from bottom of card stock;
2. Carefully flipped over so didn’t move dsp & drew line along top edge;
3. Cut off top little triangle piece with paper cutter.
    
   

   *4 x 5 1/4"- lay inside card & slide upward- leaving about 1/2" showing at bottom.

   

   *Flip this over & using a pencil- draw a line along the edge.

   This is the part that you'll use your paper cutter & cut off!

   

   *Now this is what it looks like!

   It makes the perfect layer!

    

   *You will "repeat" this process for both DSP layers too!

   *2 3/4 x 3 1/2"- front of card flap (stars)
   

   *3 1/2 x 4 1/4"- for middle front of card (squiggly lines)

Here are the supplies & measurements.

stamp set:  'Translucent Florals' - words (NEW in upcoming Holiday Catalog- available September 2023!)

card stock:

• Misty Moonlight- 8 1/2 x 11"- mark at 3" on both ends as shown in photo above & diagonally cut, getting 2 card bases

Cheerful Daisies

Here is a pretty daisy card using the

#161297- Cheerful Daisies Bundle= $53.00.

I used the gorgeous NEW In Color- Moody Mauve for my card 

base & to stamp the flowers & words in.

 

I added a splash color with some Old Olive card stock for the die cut leaves

& stamped the center of the daisies using Crushed Curry Ink.

Notice how I shadow stamped little daisies in the corners of the card front,

using Moody Mauve Ink onto Moody Mauve card stock.

 

These large daisies are 2 step stamps, as one is an outline stamp

& one is a solid image stamp.

 

Did you notice how the flowers are 2 different colors?

I used Moody Mauve ink when stamping them both.

For the flower on the left, I stamped it full strength ink.

And for the one on the right, I stamped the outside line stamp full strength 

and then stamped off onto scratch paper before stamping the 

solid flower image- so that it was a lighter color.

So Very Merry

 

WOW!

Look at this gorgeous angel!
She isn't in any publications, but can be found in the on line exclusive section.

#162345- So Very Merry stamp set= $24.00

 

This angel is a stained glass stamp.

How did I color her?

• Stamped onto Vellum using Stazon ink.  *Be sure you clean our stamp right away with Stampin' Mist & your Scrub Pad.
• I turned the Vellum stamped image over & colored on the back side of it using Stampin' Blends.
• When I had it all colored I turned it back over to the front & added Wink of Stella to the wings.
• I punched it out using the 2 3/8" Circle Punch.

Don't you just love this card!

It is perfect for many different occasions by just changing the words-

like Christmas; First Communion or Baptism; Birthday or Sympathy!

 

I love the stars on this DSP & thought it went perfectly with the angel.

It if from the 

#161175- Stargazing DSP= $12.50- pg. 132.

And notice how I used the

#154317- Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder= $10.00- pg. 169.

 

The words I used are from the same stamp set that the angel is in.

The words are curved.....but since they are photopolymer I 

just put them onto my clear block & made them straight!

You can do these with any photopolymer words.
