'Layering Love' =Chalk Board Technique!

I am SO SORRY that I haven't been able to post the past couple of days, while I was gone to Minneapolis to our Stampin' Up! On Stage event.  Our hotel was suppose to include internet, but I was unable to get it to work (even after many calls & a trip to the front desk for help)!

Check out my pile of card stock & stamped words here!!

This card is one of my On Stage swaps that I made!!  It is clean & simple!

And I did the Chalk Board technique on it!  I think it turned out super cute!  Don't you!
Notice the little red heart that I punched out of Real Red card stock, using the Owl Builder Punch & added here!
I did a card using this same layout & the Sale-a-bration set- 'Reverse Words'.  You can see that post HERE!

Here are the supplies & the measurements that I used to make this card-

stamp set:  'Layering Love'
card stock:
  • Basic Black- 4 1/4 x 11- fold in half; 1 x 6 (for banner), 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 (to stamp words onto)
  • Whisper White- 4 x 5 1/4 (for inside of card), 3 3/4 x 3 3/4
  • Real Red- 1/2" strip
designer paper:
  • The Black & White side of the Pop of Pink Specialty DSP- 5 1/4 x 2
ink:  White Craft
other:  Triple Banner Punch, Thick White Twine (6"), Dimensionals, Glue Dot, Owl Builder Punch
Here is my pile of finished cards that I took with me to Minneapolis to swap!  I used some different DSP prints, all from the same DSP!  I hope everyone that got one of these from me liked it!

WOW- It was a super busy weekend!  We had a wonderful time at On Stage! It was great to see so many of my demonstrator friends from all over the US that I haven't seen for quite awhile!!  And I loved spending time with those on my team that got to go with me too!

I am super EXCITED, as I learned some new things that I can't wait to share with all of my customers & my team members, at my upcoming stamping events!!  AND I am in LOVE the new catalog & I can't wait to be able to share it with all of you!!  The new catalog goes live to customers on June 1st!!!  Per Stampin' Up! rules, I will post more information about the new catalog when I can.  Until then you'll just have to take my word that you'll love it!!

And wait until you see the new stamp sets & products that I got at this On Stage event.  I can tell you that one of the stamp sets has something on it that is very much a huge part of our family- PIGS!  It is sooooo cute!!!  I can't wait to be able to share & tell you more about all of these things!!

For today you'll have to gear up for my post later today with the RETIRING LIST!  Be sure you get the items on it that you want, before the are sold out!
---------
I got home from Minnesota yesterday afternoon.  And I then worked on farm bookwork, emails, laundry & such- trying to play catch up!!  I was beat!!!  We were on the go the whole time.  I am glad that I was able to attend this event & I enjoyed my time there learning & visiting with all of my SU! friends.  But I am very happy to be home to my family; I am happy to be able take a shower at home; & I am excited to sleep in my own bed!

This morning I'm off to go pick up all of my boys for the day!!  Deke is off early to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting!  Tonight when the boys go home I'll be working on catching up on more things.  And Deke hopes to work in the field again tonight if we don't get too much rain.

Gotta run......
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!

Yesterday was a busy day with all of my boys!  When they went home last night I worked on stamping stuff & packing!

This morning my friend Lynda & I are headed out to Minneapolis, Minnesota- to attend a Stampin' Up! On Stage event (it is for Stampin' Up! demonstrators) that is all day tomorrow.  We are picking up my friend (& downline Lorraine) on the way up!  And we are meeting our friends- Christy, Peggy & Melissa there!

Tonight Christy & I will be attending a Stampin' Up! leaders event.  I can't wait to see & get to visit with lots of my demonstrator friends from all over the US there, that I haven't seen for awhile!

I have stamping projects that I'm taking with me, so that the 4 girls in our group will have fun creating in our hotel tonight, while Christy & I am gone!

I pray we all have good luck traveling up there & back home!   I'm so excited to see what Stampin' Up! has in store to share with us!!  It will be a fun & busy girls weekend of stamping!

For me to be gone, we have to do some planning to figure out where the boys will all be.  The twins have pre-school today.  Amanda will be going with them- as they have a field trip!  Deke is keeping Trey for me & they will be working on the farm.  And Masen's other grandma is coming up to their house & she will keeping him today!

This morning I'm off to go pick up the boys for the day.  We have a few errands to run this morning.

Tonight when the boys go home I'll be a busy bee......stamping, cooking, packing......as I leave for Stampin' Up! On Stage tomorrow morning!  So I have tons I need to get done.

I hope you have a very special Thursday!!

Yesterday was a LONG day!  It started out early with pigs & then enjoyed all of my boys for the day.  Last night Deke & I went to Cale's visitation.  It was just so heartbreaking!  There was a huge crowd.  We stood in line for along time.

I worked on stamping stuff when we got home.

This morning we are up early again & outside at 5:00 a.m.- to mark, sort & load hogs again.  There is no school for Sigourney today, due to Cale's funeral being at the school.  So I'll just have Masen this morning & then I'll keep the other 3 boys while Manda, Steve & Nathan go to the funeral.

Deke is headed into the courthouse for the morning & then he has a meeting this afternoon in Frytown.

Tonight I'll be working on stamping stuff again!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!

Yesterday was a busy day with all of my boys!  We made some cute little Easter Bunny bags.....I took pictures of them.  I'll get them downloaded & share them sometime in the next week or so.

Brayden was here after school yesterday too.  It is always fun when they are all together!

When the boys went home last night I worked on stamping stuff all night!

This morning we are up early at 5 to head outside to work on the farm- marking, sorting & loading hogs.  Hopefully the trucker is on time & get done by 7:15, so I can get there in time to pick up the boys.  I'll spend my day with all 4 of them.

Tonight Deke & I will be going to Cale Jarmes visitation.  He was only 15 years old & was killed in a car accident last week.  His brother was badly injuried.  And Joe Snakenberg was killed too (his visitation was Sunday night that we attended).  Their tragic accident was such a huge shock & so heartbreaking to our community.  My heart just breaks for these families!  Going to a visitation isn't ever easy to do, but attending this one is going to be really hard!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

Yesterday was a great day of stamping with everyone!!  My hostess Kathy had a cute table decorated with an Easter tree & bunnies, along with some great snacks.  I want to give a shout out to Teri, Laura, Dena, Brooke, Jenny, Jan & Andrea for helping us to set up & clean up too!! I appreciate them more than they know!!

Last night I headed straight home from my class to meet Deke & Manda.  We all went to a friend- Joe Snakenberg's visitation.  There was a huge crowd & we saw lots of friends we hadn't seen for awhile.  Joe was killed in a semi accident last Monday, so please keep his family in your prayers.

This morning Deke is off to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'm off to go pick up all of my boys & spend the day with all 4 of them.  I have some projects planned for us to get done this week.....as I promised Drake we'd do them this week!

Drake & Brayden both scored.  And then burning the midnight oil last night cutting card stock.

This morning I'll finish getting things packed up & loaded in my car.  I'll be headed out to N. Liberty for my monthly stamp class there.  Kathy is our hostess this month.  We have a big group coming!  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone & sharing!  I've got some super cute cards with lots of Big Shot things & fun folds for them to do.  I'll share these cards later this month- as I don't want to spoil the fun for everyone yet this early in the month- as the rest of my monthly classes are later than normal this month due to me being gone to On Stage next weekend & then Easter.

Succulent Garden Designer paper!

WOW- look at all of the different stamps that would work on this card!  There were several different ones that everyone got to choose from!  I love it when there are so many great choices!  This way everyone can personalize their card for whatever they are needing it to say!
I chose the colors of this card to coordinate with this beautiful Succulent Garden Designer paper!
And check out the back side of the flower print on this dsp.....it is little line/dots!  So it was another choice that everyone got to make too!
And you know I love embellishments.....I thought that adding this ribbon along the edge just completed the card.

Here are the supplies & the measurements for this card-

Wow- we had a busy day yesterday with 2 little boys!  And then all 5 of them were here for awhile after school to play.

The races were cancelled last night, so we went out for supper at the new Mexican place in Sigourney with all of our family!  And then Sarah got a cake & Manda got ice cream & we all went out to Nathan & Sarah's to visit & play with the kids.

It was a short night......as Deke & I are up & outside on the farm at 4:00 this morning- to mark, sort & load hogs.  I have to be at the Seeley's as soon as I'm done helping Deke with the pigs, as today is soccer picture day.  Seeley Photography is taking the photos- so their 3 boys will be with me today!  Deke & I will take the twins in for their pictures at 10 & then they have a soccer game at 10:30.  Brayden has pictures at 11 & then he has a soccer game at 11:30.  We'll be there to watch all boys play at their soccer games.

When the boys go home later this afternoon I'll be a busy bee cutting card stock!!  Tomorrow is my monthly class in N. Liberty!  I have some cute cards for this months classes!  And I can't wait to see everyone & share!

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!

Wow- today Deke & I are celebrating our 33rd Anniversary!  It doesn't seem like it has been that many years ago.  We make a great team!!  We are truly blessed!!  He is my best friend- the one I live for, laugh with & love much!  We were best friends before we were ever more than that.  I've known him since I was 5 years old!

This card is one that everyone made at my 'All Occasions' Card Classes.  I love the simple elegance of it!!!  This is a true Susie style card.  I thought it was fitting that I share it today.
Gray is a neutral color & is always a good one to use.  (It was actually one of our wedding colors!)

Did you notice how I shadow stamped the flowers onto the Smoky Slate (gray) background piece on the front of the card to give it dimension? And then I added the rhinestones, lace doily, silver foil & Silver metallic ribbon to make it elegant & give it bling!

It was late last night when Masen left.  Deke, Nathan & Brayden worked in the shop on the race car.  After everyone was gone I spent the rest of my night stamping away!

We have an early morning & busy day today!  I'm off to go pick up all of the boys this morning.  I'll take Brayden, Brody & Drake to school & spend my day with Trey & Masen.

Tonight......not sure what we are doing.  We are planning to go to the races, but if they get rained out, we'll just go out for supper with all of our family & come home to cut card stock!

'In The Meadow'- a great guy card!

This is another one of the cards that I designed for my 'All Occasions' Card Classes.

Check out the leaves on this tree!  How did I do them?
  • I used a pencil eraser!! (Make sure you use a brand new pencil eraser so that it is perfectly round & clean.)
  • I used the pencil eraser just like it was a stamp.  I inked it up by putting it into my Garden Green ink pad.
  • And then pushed it onto the card stock/over the tree branches to make the leaves!!
  • I stamped with the inked eraser 3-4 times (shadow stamping) to get the darker to lighter shades of the Garden Green.
So what do you think?  Isn't it a great guy card!  I thought it could be used for many different occasions.

Here are the supplies & the measurements that I used to make this card-
stamp sets:  'In the Meadow' & 'Wetlands'
card stock:
  • Early Espresso- 5 1/2 x 8 1/2", 2 1/2" strip, 2 1/2 x 3 1/2"
  • Garden Green- 2" strip, 4 1/4 x 3 1/4"
  • Whisper White- 2" strip, 3 1/4 x 2 1/4", 4 x 5 1/4" (for the inside of the card)
ink:  Garden Green & Chocolate Chip
other:  1 3/4" Circle Punch, 1 1/2" Circle Punch, Decorative Label Punch, Dimensionals,
And a NEW (never used) Pencil (to use the eraser to make the dots for the leaves)

Check out this card!  It too was one that everyone at my 'All Occasions' Card Classes got to make.

I LOVE this designer paper though!  Wow- what beautiful design & color combination it has.
I had a few other stamp sets available during the class, so that everyone could personalize their card for the occasions that they were needing it to be.  This Happy Birthday stamp worked great for this card layout too!  It is from the stamp set-'Window Shopping' in the Occasions Catalog- pg. 43.

I enjoyed my day with Trey yesterday.  I think he likes being alone with Grandma- as that doesn't happen too often.  Brayden & the twins were here for awhile after school too.  The boys played outside for awhile (even though it was chilly).  After they were all gone home, I worked on stamping stuff all evening.

This morning I am off to go pick up all of my boys!  We'll take Brayden to school, run some errands in town & then head out to our house for the day.  Deke is home to work on the farm all day today, so it will be nice to have him home to eat lunch with us.  Tonight when the boys go home I'll be a stamping fool!

Gotta run.....
I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

I was up bright & early yesterday morning.  I got my Traverse all unloaded & started unpacking things from Saturday's big class.  Our family room was piled high with boxes & laundry baskets of stamping things!

I also got caught up on our laundry, mail & several emails too.

This morning Deke is off early to chore & head to the office for his weekly board meeting.  I'm off to go pick up the boys.  I'll take the twins to pre-school & spend my day with Trey!  Tonight when the boys go home I'll be working on putting away more stamping stuff.

I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!!
Happy Stamping!
