More Springtime Foils Designer Paper!

Here is a clean & simple flowery card, using the Springtime Foils Designer Paper!  I colored the flowers/leaves using the Stampin' Blends.  I think it turned out so pretty!

Here is were I just colored one end of the Springtime Foils designer paper.  I then cut it at 4" x 3" & got 4 pieces along this edge!

Yesterday was a busy day with kids, errands & all!  A dear family friend (of both Deke & mine) passed away (Marge Allgood), so we went to her visitation last night.  We saw lots of friends that we hadn't seen for a long time (some it had been years) & we enjoyed catching up with them & reminiscing from our child hood memories.  We then stopped to visit my mom & step-dad, Dick, on our way home.  Dick's birthday was last weekend & so we took him his card & enjoyed visiting with them for a couple of hours.  So it was late when we finally got back home.

This morning I'm up early to walk & head to town to get the boys.  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  Since I didn't get any stamping done last night- I have LOTS to accomplish tonight.

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday!!
Happy Stamping!

'Truly Tailored' = Guy card

Here is a clean & simple guy card.  I used the 'Tailored Tag' stamp set & coordinating Tailored Tag Punch.  And I also used a couple of the words from the 'Guy Greetings' stamp set.

There were some images included on some of the stamps in this 'Tailored Tag' set that I didn't really want to be included with the words when I stamped them, so I just took my Paper Snips & cut out those images.  Here you can see the stamp sets from the back side, so you can tell where I cut things out of them.  And then you can also see how each of these stamps now look when I stamp & punch them out.
Check out this cool silver stripped designer paper.  It is from the Springtime Foils Specialty Designer Paper that is one of the FREE Sale-a-bration choices! It is really pretty. But doesn't it look good here for this guy card?

Yesterday was a busy & fun day with kids!!  I then had stamp class here at our home last night.   It was a great night sharing, visiting & stamping with everyone that joined me!

This morning I'm up early to walk & will be getting ready for another stamp class here at our home that I have this morning.  I hope the weather stays above freezing & we don't get any snow or ice.  It has been a long winter & I'm so ready for Spring!

Deke is up early to chore & then he is headed to town to go to Brayden's ball games.  I am bummed I can't go, but will be patiently waiting to get text message updates during the games.  And then I'll get to hear all about them tonight.

As tonight we are getting together with our kids & grandkids.  I'm not sure yet what we'll be doing.....the boys want to go bowling, Deke wants to go to Happy Joes for pizza.  And I don't care.....with the unpredictable weather we might just be staying home & hanging out together playing games.

Gotta run.....I'm off to finish getting to more stamping!
I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!

'Southern Serenade'- Black Magic technique

Here is another gorgeous Black Magic technique card.  It makes me think of Spring!  Don't you love it!  I think it turned out really pretty!

It is hard to see- but if you look closely at the Real Red card stock, I shadow stamped (using the Real Red ink pad) the lace stamp.  It is really pretty in person!

How did I do it?
  • I rubbed the Embossing Buddy over a strip of Basic Black card stock.
  • I stamped the flower image onto it, using the Versamark ink pad.
  • I dumped White Embossing Powder over it, tapping off the excess.
  • I heat set the Embossing Powder, using the Heat Tool.
  • I colored over the White embossed flower using these Stampin' Blends- Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Old Olive, Dark Daffodil Delight.

stamp set:  'Southern Serenade'
card stock:  Real Red, Basic Black, Old Olive
ink:  Versamark pad, Archival Basic Black, Real Red
Stampin' Blends:  Dark Cherry Cobbler, Dark Daffodil Delight, Dark Old Olive
other:  White Perfect Accents (colored with a Black Sharpie), 1 1/2" Circle Punch, White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Heat Tool, Dimensionals

Another 'This Little PIggy' & a 'Barn Door'!

"This Little Piggy" is doing a jig!  He sure looks happy doesn't he!

Here is another clean & simple card I made with a pig & the "Barn Door" stamp set!  Again, I'm going the opposite direction of many of the cards that are made using this "Barn Door" bundle.
At our house we have a block wall like this on one of barns.   So I created this card to look like it.

I used the Brick Wall Embossing folder behind this door.
And I cut out the piggy using my Paper Snips.
I did a fake sliding door with the "Sliding Door framelits".

This is still a cute piggy card, but the one I posted yesterday is my favorite!! Check it out HERE!

stamp sets:  'Barn Door', 'This Little Piggy' & 'Perennial Birthday'
card stock:  Real Red, Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Blushing Bride, Smoky Slake
ink:  Archival Basic Black
Stampin' Write markers:  Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip
other:  Paper Snips (to cut out the piggy), Big Shot, Magnetic Platform, Barn Door Sliding Door Framelits, Standard Platform, Brick Wall Embossing Folder, dimensionals

Yesterday was a busy day!  I took the kids & went & got my drivers license renewed.  Deke was in a meeting & couldn't help out- but the boys were angels & we got along just great!!  I was so proud of them.  After I got my license we stopped by several different offices in the courthouse, so that I could visit some of my old co-workers that I don't get to see too often any more.  It was good to get to see some of them!

When the kids went home last night I burnt the midnight oil stamping!!  I was in creative mood & got several cards created.  Some of them might be cards I end up using for my March monthly classes or my upcoming "All Occasions" card classes.

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to Ottumwa for a meeting.  He then will come home to chore & head to another meeting again tonight.  I'm up early to walk & head to town.  I'll take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  All 3 big boys will ride the bus here after school.  Ainslee will be here late tonight (as the big boys have a reading thing at school tonight to go to) so hope she can stay entertained watching me score & fold card bases, as I still have some things I have to finish up for this weekends classes.

Gotta run........
I hope you have a very special Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!

"This Little Piggy" with a barn door!

Oh 'This Little Piggy'!   He is soooo stinkin' cute!  And so is this "Barn Door" Bundle!

This is a clean & simple card- but oh so cute!  You know the farmer in me just had to do something a little different than the rest of the ways most everyone else has been using this "Barn Door" Bundle.

I just love my little piggy by the barn door!

And check out the the new Simple Stripes Embossing Folder for the red barn card front.  I thought it worked perfectly for that! What a cool embossing folder this is!
So what do you think?  I'd love to hear what you have to say about this piggy card.  Leave me a comment!

Yesterday was a totally crazy day.......it just so didn't turn out as it was planned at all.  We awoke yesterday morning to rain & a chance of freezing rain.  We had the roars of thunder & hard rain.  All of our local schools were delayed 2 hours & then they ended up cancelling for the day.  So Grandma had all 6 kids here.  We played board games, card games & I pads.

Last night when the kids went home I had tons I needed to get done.  I got caught up on my emails, made supper/dishes & picked up toys.  By the time I got done with finishing this card & my blog post- I was done for it.  Deke had a meeting with our local Farm Bureau group, so it was late when he got home.  We were both ready to call it a day.

We are up early this morning.  Deke wants to clean our the outside hog barns & get them rebeded while the ground is frozen.  He'll then chore & head to the courthouse for a mid-morning meeting.  I'm up early to walk, head to town to take the twins to school & then spend my day with the 3 little ones.  If the weather is good & Ainslee isn't napping, I need to run to town to renew my driver's license this morning later too.

Tonight when the kids go home I'll be folding card stock & getting things ready for my upcoming stamp classes that I have this weekend!!!

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!!
Happy Stamping!

A slider/pull out bithday card- TUTORIAL!

Check it out!!  I made a fun slider/pull out birthday card!!

Want another great idea to use your Barn Door framelit with?  Read on.......

The first time I saw the Barn Door framelit I knew I wanted to make a slider card with it.  I finally had time to play with it & make this card last night.  I think it turned out super cute!!  What do you think?

How did I do it?
I have some photos & steps for you to see below-
#1- Cut out the window, using the Barn Door Framelit.
NOTE:  The window is about 1 3/4" from the bottom.  Whisper White card stock- 4 1/2 x 3 3/4"
#2- This is what it looks like when you get the slider hole cut out.
#3- Make a "track", using the adhesive strips on each side of the slider window.
NOTE:  Be sure you slide your piece of card stock into it first (Whisper White slider piece measures- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4"), so that you have it tight, but not rubbing.
#4-I added a little 'stop to the one end, using another adhesive strip, so that pull out strip couldn't go all of the way through.
#5- Be sure you rub the embossing buddy on the inside edges of the adhesive strip so that your paper slide out doesn't stick to it.
#6- Attach the window piece to the front of the card.  It will look like this.
#7- Using my Paper Snips, I fussy cut a bow out of the Picture Perfect Party DSP.  COOL HUH!
#8- Adhere a piece of Picture Perfect Party DSP to the bottom edge of the card front- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4".

#9- Slid in the pull out strip- between the adhesive track that you made.
NOTE:  If you want to stamp words onto it- do that first, so that you'll get a good stamped image on it.
I used the Bermuda Bay marker on the words- 'to you' to add to the pull out strip!

#10- Add a short piece of the adhesive strip to it the Whisper White pull our strip.

#11- Use the Tailored Tag punch & adhered it to the adhesive strip that inside the window track.
Below is what it looks like when it is stuck onto the adhesive strip
#12- Add another strip of Pool Party card stock- 4 1/2 x 1 1/4", to the front of the card by using an adhesive strip.  This is to hide the window.
NOTE:  I only put the adhesive strip along the bottom edge of this piece of card stock, as you want the top to be free, so that it is hiding the window, but allowing it to move freely!

#13- This is what it looks like when you put the Pool Party strip on & have your pull out piece inside the track.
#14- Add a dimensional to the top point of the Tailored Tag punch.
NOTE:  Be sure that it isn't touching the Pool Party card stock piece.
#15- Stick the bow onto the dimensional & finished decorating the card front.
#16- The card is finished!
Check out this cute card when it is pulled out!
Isn't it cute!!  And it was so much fun to make!  I'm sending it to a special friend for her birthday!  I hope she likes it!

stamp set:  'Picture Perfect Birthday'

'Petal Palette'- spotlighting

Here is a beautiful "spotlighting technique" card.

My downline Dawn Keline shared a card similar to this one at our team meeting in January.  The Petal Passion Designer Paper that I used here just works perfectly for doing this cool technique.

The "spotlighting technique" is often done on a collage stamped card.  And this Petal Passions Designer Paper is the perfect collage images.

How did I do this?
  • I punched a circle out of this Petal Passion Designer Paper using the 2" Circle Punch.
  • I colored the flowers in the punched out circle using the Stampin' Blends.
  • I added the Wink of Stella over the top of the colored flowers.
  • I punched a Black Circle to layer behind the colored flowers using the 2 1/4" Circle Punch.
  • Using dimensionals I put the layered flower circle back over the top of the piece that I punched out.
Isn't it just so clean, simple & pretty!!

stamp set:  'Petal Palette'
card stock:  Calypso Coral, Basic Black, Whisper White
designer paper:  Petal Passion DSP
ink:  Archival Basic Black
Stampin' Blends:  Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette
other:  2" Circle Punch, 2 1/4" Circle Punch, Dimensionals

This morning Deke is up early to chore & head to the courthouse for a meeting.  I'm up early to walk & then headed to town to run some errands.  I'm then going to hide the rest of the weekend, working on tax stuff that I have to get done.

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday!!

This is what I made to give the boys for Valentines Day!
And I didn't think that I could give a dragon to Ainslee.  So her card is similar to the boys cards, but I used the unicorn on hers instead.

I added some Wink of Stella to the unicorn, to add some extra bling to it too!

Yesterday was a busy day with the kids.  When they went home I made a trip to Osky & right back- just to deposit a hog check.  And then I spent my night doing farm bookwork.

This morning I'm up early to walk & then go get the boys.  I'll take the twins to school & spend my day with the 3 little ones.

Tonight I plan to do bookwork when the kids go home.

I hope you have a very special Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!
