"Congratulations" to Nathan on his WIN at Columbus Junction last night & for being the 2013 Stock Car Champion there!

Photo: Starting on the pole at CJ Speedway tonight.

Here is Drake's M&M 'flip' birthday card!

Good morning!
This is Drake's M&M 'flip' birthday card.
It is the same as Brody's except that I made the base of his Real Red
instead of Pacific Point.

cs:  Pacific Point, Real Red, Gumball Green, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight
supplies:  Big Shot, Circle Flip framelit, Pacific Point Stitched ribbon, 2 1/2" Circle punch, 3/4" circle punch, Stripes embossing folder
retired:  Alphabet sets
I think that this card turned out really cute!
Here are both of the cards together!
Did you notice how I made the circle on one of these at the top &
the other one is at the bottom?
It is so easy to just fold it differently to either of these.

Today is our son-in-law Steve's birthday!
I hope he has a special day!
Tomorrow I'll hopefully share his card with you!

Today is also a busy day with weddings for our family.
Manda & Steve have a wedding that Steve is taking pictures at,
so the twins will be spending the day with us.
Plus,
Brayden's mom (Kimi) & Mike are getting married this afternoon too-
so we'll be attending their wedding & taking the twins along.

I hope you have a SUPER Saturday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

The twins & their "Wood" birthday cake!

Some of you already know our "Wood" family tradition with this cake.
And some of you have even had it before!
For those of you that haven't- you should try it!
It is yummy!
 Here is Brody!
And here is Drake.
They both LOVE crispix cake & they especially LOVE the M&Ms on the top!
The cake worked perfectly this year for their M&M birthday theme.
Isn't this precious!

Crispix Bars/Cake

Melt:
1 stick margarine
1/4 c. white karo sryup
16 oz. pkg of marshmellows
(I use small ones as they melt faster)

Remove from heat:
Add 1 c. Peanutbutter
Stir in good.
Then add a 12 oz. box of Crispix.
Stirring carefully so that you don't crumble the hexagon cereal squares.
Press into a greased angel food cake pan or cookie sheet.

(They don't cut very well- we just pull them apart!)

ENJOY!!!

I have taken this cake to work with me at the courthouse for several birthdays.
I've made this cake/bars for downline meetings.
I've made this cake for friends birthdays.
and
I've made this as bars for my stamp camps!
But everyone in our family on their birthday gets a cake like this.
Deke's mom started this tradition & it is been a fun one to continue!
We all love it!

Here is a M&M flip card for Brody!

Good morning!
Here is Brody's M&M flip card.
The twins LOVE M&M's & the theme of their party is going to be M&M's too!
I had no clue what I was going to do when I started playing last night & this is what I ended up with.
cs:  Pacific Point, Real Red, Gumball Green, Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight
supplies:  Big Shot, Circle Flip framelit, Real Red Stitched ribbon, 2 1/2" Circle punch, 3/4" circle punch, Stripes embossing folder
retired:  Alphabet sets
So I think that it turned out pretty stinkin' cute!
I'm excited for Manda to see them.
I'll post Drake's card tomorrow.

The guys are headed to Columbus Junction for season championship.
Nathan is leading the track points!
I hope he has good luck!!
I'm staying home to do hair cuts (on Steve, Brody & Drake) & stamp!
I hope to get some more much needed things check off of my 'to do lists'!
I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

A 'Best of Halloween' flip card!

Good morning!
My card today was inspired by my dear friend & downline Judy Hopping!
She did a similar card at our downline meeting a couple of weeks ago.
As Judy would say- this card is Susied Up.
So Judy- what do you think?
I hope you don't mind that I changed your card & shared it.
'Best of Halloween'
cs: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Very Vanilla
dp:  Witches Brew
ink:  Black Stazon
marker:  Summer Starfruit
supplies:  Black 1/8" Taffeta ribbon, Big Shot, Stripes embossing folder, Label Card Thinlits die, Label Collection Framelit, glue dot

Yes- I like to layer!!!
I just like the 3-D look I guess.....that is the way I was taught to stamp by my upline.
So I decided that I would try layering with one of the flip cards.
AND it does work!!
YIPEE!!

NOTE:
I'll be sharing a layered flip card with everyone joining me for my September
workshops using a different stamp set.

See- how it flips!

The inside piece is:
'Tags 4 You'
ink:  Pumpkin Pie
supplies:  Label Bracket punch

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Thursday!!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

Happy 2nd Birthday to Drake & Brody!!

OH my GOSH!
Happy 2nd Birthday to Drake & Brody!!

Where has the past 2 years gone.....they sure have flown!
What precious little guys you are & definitely with your own personalities.
I was saying 'cheese' & Brody was repeating me with his funny scrunched up funny face!
They are both true blessings!

Yesterday was the 6 month anniversary of Brody's 2nd surgery & you can't hardly see his scar any more & you sure can't tell by his actions that he ever had anything wrong!
What a blessing Dr. Menezes is too!

I also want to note the cute little John Deere hats that the twins are wearing.
Our sweet little Greiner twin friends gave these to our twins.
We LOVE the Greiner twins hand-me-downs!

We will be celebrating Brody & Drake's birthday on Sunday evening!
Today I'm making them a 'Wood' cake & they are getting a couple of small gifts to celebrate.

Happy with 'Gorgeous Grunge'!

Good morning!

Yippee- I got to finally stamp yesterday afternoon while the boys napped.
Here is the happy card that I created using 'Gorgeous Grunge'.
Gosh....I love this stamp set!!
It reminds me of one of my all time favorite sets- 'Itty Bitty Backgrounds' that is retired.
Although I do like 'Gorgeous Grunge' even better!
The images themselves are so much larger & are awesome for adding to almost
any style of card you are creating.
If you don't already have this new set, you might want to be adding it to your wish list!
'Gorgeous Grunge' & 'Yippee-Skippee'
cs:  Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Whisper White
ink:  Pool Party, Calypso Coral & Basic Gray
supplies:  1 3/4" Circle punch, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, dimensionals

I am now all caught up on sending out birthday cards!!
Yippee-Skippee!
July & August have just been so busy that I couldn't keep up.
I'm happy that I have them all done now.
One thing on my long list of "to-do's" this is now checked off!

I had a surprise visitor....
Brayden was here to visit & eat supper with me last night.
Nathan & Deke were working in the shop & on the farm.
We also sold hogs last night in the heat & got in late.
I am hoping that they all made it on their journey safely.
We wet them down good to help them stay cool.
Gosh......I wish I could do a rain dance & bring some much needed rain to us.
The animals & crops are definitely suffering.
Since we buy all of our feed (corn & beans) for our hogs- this isn't good.

Gotta go......need to get my walk in before the boys arrive.
I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

A 'Christmas Collectibles' inspiration.....

Good morning!
At my downline meeting a few weeks ago I was inspired by Nancy Klum to create this card.
I added words, more layers & pearls to create this card.
'Christmas Collectibles' & 'Be Very Merry'
cs:  Smoky Slate, Whisper White & Coastal Cobana
ink:  Coastal Cobana
supplies:  Big Shot, Pretty Print Textured embossing folder, Silver 1/8" ribbon, Basic Pearls, Paper Snips, glue dots, dimensionals

Ok.....so are you just lovin' this stamp set & how about the new ribbon??

Yesterday our feed guy brought some corporate employees &
they took pictures of our farm, hogs, us & twins.
They could possibly use the photos in displays for trade shows & magazines for their company.
(Dekalb Feeds from Frytown.)
Luckily they got here about 10:30 & were gone by noon before it got any hotter out.
It was a late, hot night on the farm sorting hogs.
Thankfully Nathan, Steve & Josh all helped us.
Many hands made it not a fun night, but manageable.
There is no way Deke & I could have sort that group of outside hogs by ourselves.

Tonight we sell hogs so I'm a farmer again.
Darn....we need rain & cooler temps.
We are praying for both!!

I hope you have a TERRIFIC Tuesday.
Happy Stamping!
Hugs!

Good morning!
Here is another card I made using the 'Best of Halloween' set.

'Best of Halloween'
cs:  Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Whisper White
dp:  Witches Brew
ink:  Black Stazon
marker:  Daffodil Delight
NOTE:
I used the Stampin' Trimmer & the NEW Rotary Addition with the Small Scallop cutting blade.
That is how I cut the black scallop square.
supplies:  1/8" Pumpkin Pie Taffeta ribbon,  dimensionals, glue dots
 Check out the fun fold!

I'll enjoy my day today with the boys & hoping to get alot done during their nap time.
School gets out early due to the heat.
We sure need rain & I've been praying that we get it soon.
Tonight I'm a farmer.
I hope you have a MARVELOUS Monday!
Happy Stamping!

  • Steve- 08/31
After supper we went to the park to play.
And then stopped at my moms to visit a bit & pick apples from her tree.
Brayden came home with us to stay over night.
We had a fun night with our family!

Thankful for.....a 'Truly Grateful' card.....

Good morning!!
Here is a card that made for my September monthly swap that I'm in.

(Yep- I'm early & probably shouldn't share it yet on my blog,
but I don't have any pictures taken of any other cards yet to share.
So if you are in that swap with me- you'll be getting this card next month.)

This is the same layout as one of the cards I did for my August workshops-
but I just changed the stamp set.
Here is the one that I posted earlier this month.

'Truly Grateful'
cs:  Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Naturals Ivory
dp:  Sweater Weather
ink:  Versamark & Chocolate Chip
markers:  Crumb Cake & So Saffron
supplies:  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dot embossing folder, 2 12" circle punch, Decorative Label punch, Neutrals Candy Dot (Chocolate Chip), Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Early Espresso Embossing Powder, dimensionals
Check out the fun fold!

What a fun night we had at the races celebrating Nathan's birthday last night.
Nathan got 3rd in his heat; started 10th in the main & finished 2nd by only 1/4 of a car length.
He drove his friend Blaine's car & looked really good!

Today is a catch up day at our house!
Oh my gosh......I have tons of laundry to do, bills to pay, stamping to do, etc.
But before I can ever stamp I need to clean my Studio- as it is a disaster!
We offered to do birthday suppers tonight for Nathan & Steve- but not positive that is going to end up working out for everyone's schedules- we will see.

I hope you have a SENSATIONAL Saturday
and enjoy your weekend!!
Happy Stamping!

A sweet 'Summer Silhouettes' card....

Good morning!!
Here is a sweet card that my downline Judy Hopping created & gave to me.
She cased the layout from this card that I posted earlier.
I love how hers turned out!!
And she used one of my favorite color combinations too!
The ribbon bow is just so stunning & easy to make!
 'Summer Silhouettes'
cs:  Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive & Whisper White
ink:  Rich Razzleberry & Old Olive
supplies:  Big Shot, Stylish Stripes Embossing folder, Extra Large Oval punch, Simply Pressed Clay, Blossoms Molds, dimensionals, glue dots

Today our son turns 29 years old.
Gosh....where did the time go.
He is a very tall, handsome young man.
He has reached to great lengths to become a very successful person.
And he is a great dad too.
We are very proud of him!
And we are lucky that he lives only 4 miles away from us & we get to see him often.
Happy Birthday to Nathan!!
And good luck at the races tonight.

I hope you have a FABULOUS Friday!!
Happy Stamping!

Here is another faux iris card....

Good morning!
Here is another faux iris card that I did for a monthly swap that I'm in.
What a fun & easy technique to do.
I will update this post later today with the supply list.

Check out the fold......it is an easel card!

School got out early yesterday due to the heat, so Brayden spent the afternoon with us.
He liked his first day in Kindergarten.
The twins were excited when he woke them up from their naps!
They were happy to see him & get to play with him.

We had a late night racing last night.
Nathan got 8th......struggled with the set up in his heat & had to start 12th in the main.
But at least he finished in one piece.
We'll be racing in Columbus Junction tomorrow night- so hoping he has better luck then.
He is still leading the points in Oskaloosa & Columbus Junction.
So over all he has had a good year
& been pretty consistent with being in the top 5 most nights.

The twins spent the night with us when we got home from the races.
As we are hoping they sleep in some since they had a late night.
We will have a busy day today as I have several errands to run.
(bank, post office, etc.)
Deke is gone to meetings all day, so it will just be us.

I hope you have a great Thursday!
Happy Stamping!
hugs!

supplies:  1/8" Basic Black Taffeta ribbon, Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Gold Glitter, dimensionals, glue dots

Today is the first day of school in Sigourney for Manda & Brayden.
Wow.....where did the summer go??
I hope they both have a very good year!

Tonight we race in Osky!
I hope Nathan & the #52 team have good luck!
I think the twins will end up spending the night with us afterwards, since we'll be getting home late.

I hope you have a WONDERFUL Wednesday!
Happy Stamping!

Oh my.....today is Brayden's first day of Kindergarten!

Good morning!
Look at that precious smile!
Today is Brayden's first day of Kindergarten.
I don't know where the last 5 years have gone.....it sure flew by.
We all had a fun day together yesterday.
I'm so glad that he got to spend the day with the twins & myself.
I can't wait to hear all about his first day of school!
